Tuesday Roll Call
would rather be doing this. Training, preparing a meal (s) (that were canceled) then doing regular house work and work-work is draining. I was asleep before 7:30 Sunday and missed Downton Abbey; both the repeat and the new episode. I am too old for the training junk anymore and told my boss that.
Off to see the wizard of work shortly. Davey has the kitchen to clean up. We have all of the food that was not used for the dinner (meat frozen) so we took a special meal to my niece & nephews last night. All they had to do was make a salad. We treated the younger kids to whole pork tenderloin and they loved it. One girl still used catsup on the meat - yuck. She is a little princess and she will learn the value of good meat eventually. We still have the other half of the meat frozen. Costco has those nasty double portions.
Been enjoying my tablet and learning how to download electronic books from various places including my library. I have a free appt with the adult libraian tomorrow to learn the nuances of our library system. Been listening to FDR's Folly. He was such a boob during his reign, raising taxes for programs that flopped and it soaked the people of their hard earned $$.

Good Morning,
Hubby just told me that I might not be able to get to work tomorrow. I told him I would decide in the morning.I am working today. We were not busy yesterday.
I am starting to make a quick knit hat on a round loom. I decided I needed a new one. This is going to be a light yellow with a red flower on it. It shouldn't take to long, a couple of hours.
Sharon, just decide where. I am planning on coming.
Chris, I buy those double loins, cut in half, make chops out of half of one, 1 inch thick, use the other half for a roast, use part of one for pulled pork and the last one for whatever. I get at least 8 to ten meals out of them.
I do the same when I buy whole chickens. Part goes for soup, the rest I bake, and whatever is left over, I use for chicken salad.
I buy large hams and have them sliced into steaks and part left in one piece. then we can use them as we want.
I love my ipad. I usually download books to read at work when we have downtime. But, only free ones. I refuse to pay for books or games on my fun stuff.
Time to go,
Hugs,
Lisa, yes we buy the doubles also but we bought four of the doubles (remember - 5 grown men for dinner in addition to us). We have meat coming out of our ears, thankfully it is vacuum wrapped and frozen. We usually do not make pulled pork but pulled chicken. Pork tenderloin is too good of a meat for that type of a meal. (IMHO)

I would much rather be sleeping as well. Had to take our 6-year-old, M, to the ER last night. She cut her thumb opening a can of chili. Thank goodness she didn't get stitches, just the glue and a band aid.
I'm glad I'm working from home tomorrow. I'll only have to venture out to take the kids to school and hubby to the train.
I hope everyone has a happy Tuesday! I'm really enjoying these daily roll calls!
tell me about it. My husband threw out the "bad" can opener. We have one of the safety ones, I just didn't think about it. We have 2 cars, but parking at our station is non-existent, so on the days I work from home, I drive him so he doesn't have to take the bus.
Good afternoon Christine and the rest of Illinois!
We had a LOOONNNNGGGG drive up to Madison Saturday morning, but once there, we were fine. The Farmer's market was slighly disappointing, but lunch was delicious. We also went to Ragstock and I got a hat, gloves, socks and a sweater.......all for $11.00! Once we checked into the hotel, we did not leave the building until check out on Sunday.
We went to Todd's softball buddy's house for the boring game. The game was boring but the company was lively. I made friends with a 2 year old named Maximus and we played together.
Todd was off yesterday but we didn't really do much.
I made Italian Beef ysterday-----SO easy and good. Chuck roast, a can of beef broth, a packet of brown gravy, a packet of Zesty Italian dressing and a packet of Ranch. Low and slow all day.......DELICIOUS! I am enjoying leftovers right now for lunch.
Today, I need to run into town for a couple things then will work on taxes.
Everyone have a splendid day!
The Italian beef sounds wonderful. How much Zesty Italian dressing as it comes in two different sizes?
We have stayed many times at the Govenor's Club. It makes you feel so special. We have only one time had a room on the opposite side of the Capital. Wonderful view. Love the ability to walk to so much entertainment, shopping, restaurants.

Hi Chris and Everyone,
It is coming down hard here. The snow started about an hour ago and I expect it will go all night. The office is closed tomorrow but I have too much work not to make it in. Most of the staff lives in Wilmington. I think I will just make it a late start and get in when I can.
I have house group tonight. I was sure they'd cancel but we are on. It is the first one scheduled since before Christmas. It will be nice to get together and worship and pray. I just love doing that. We are continuing a book we started in September by Robbie Dawkins.
Well, I guess I will skidaddle and start my trek home. I intend to go thru town and stay off I-80.
Please be safe and warm my dear ones.
Hugs,
Sharon
