Good Morning,

At the moment I am just vegging. I like to watch Sunday Morning on CBS, then I will find something to do. If I get real bored this morning, I may trek out to the garage and locate a good paint brush and painters tape to start on my one wall. Not real sure on that.

I have a pork lion that I will start later, with sweet potatoes, apple sauce, pototes and veggies. I may even make a dessert for tonight.

We are into the last week of January, ya think that we will ever get a "January thaw?"

Hugs,

Lisa

Personally I would not like a January thaw due to the flooding it can cause. It can slowly thaw all it needs to especially since we have had some draught conditions in the last few years. The vegetation could really use it.

Hello everyone

I have been up and working.  I want to get my work done early so I can spend the rest of the day with Chris and the boys.  I have to go pick up my printer from Walmart...I did the site to store thing.  Then I will be at Chris's house the rest of the day...till late.  But first I have to get my work done.  So I got up early and started on it and I figured I will be done by noon.  I tried working at Chris's house but his internet is just awful.  I kept getting disconnected (so I had to leave yesterday after lunch to get my work done).  I love my Comcast internet.  But the cable is going....next month.  I am buying my Roku and dumping my cable.  I just don'****ch enough new shows to keep spending an extra $65 a month.  I will keep the internet.  After I lost weight I am just not a couch potato like I was.  I am to antsy to sit and watch TV like I used to.

I am bringing my lasagna I made...I am going to warm that up for dinner for everyone.  There was plenty leftover.  I will make some garlic bread.  And there's dinner.

About work.  Well more drama is going on.  It seems the payroll manager just had about enough and quit.  She put in her 2 week notice and said she had enough.  She is the nicest sweetest lady.  And she is such a hard worker....it was not unusual for her to stay till 2am.  The controller is just being terrible about the whole thing and the other managers seem to be snubbing her.  It's all very "high school".  All the nice people seem to be getting bullied.  I don't know what is going on there???  I hope things get back to way they used to be.

Well I have to get back to work...stay warm

When we dumped Comcast we went with ATT which is 29.99 per month. It is not as fast as comcast for downloading but for internet it is fine. We use Dish for TV. Hugs, Sharon

Hello Friends,

I am feeling not like myself. I skipped church this morning. I HATE being on the Effexor but I cant seem to get off it. I cannot stand how I feel on it when I forget to take my pill. Dizzy, out of sorts and the ringing in my head is awful. I am going to make an appointment with the Pysch doc to get off this crap.My last 2 visits he talked me out of it and now here I am 6 months later and hating that I am still on it. Perhaps another Psych is in order. I have not worked out since I went on this medicine!

On another note,  I also noticed, Friday, my blood sugar dropped noticeably at 9am, 2pm and 7pm. Exactly 5 hours apart each time. I was so weak and sick, the wet cold sweats were the worst. Yesterday I stayed home all day and ate every 2-3 hours and was fine.I read hypoglycemia is a sure sign of carb over-load and how your liver is probably fatty. How did I get here again???????? Ugh.

Lisa, I think a January thaw is a lovely idea. I am afraid it probably will not happen. It was nice seeing the sun yesterday for an entire day!

Crystal, I am so sorry work is so terrible. It's a bad sign when the good people start to jump ship. I hope it works itself out for you. But didnt you talk about moving when your lease is up? Perhaps you should start looking closer to your new neighborhood. Just a thought.

Chris, I am thinking of downloading the previous seasons of Downton Abbey on my IPAD, It looks so good.

Carla, next time you are in town we must all get together. I'd love to meet you.

You too Connie, Jason, and Kim!

I need a good dentist, kissdoes anyone have a suggestion?  am willing to travel if they are fantastic.

Nancy, I am thinking of the catio for my house. Where did you get it? Also, do you worry about fleas in the summer months with the babies being out?

I think I am going to go for a walk. I need to get out and perhaps a short walk will invigorate me.

Enjoy this day my friends!

Sharon

ps...I've been meaning to ask..........Dawn have you gotten used to not working yet?????? Stay warm!

When I decided to star****ching Downton it was already past Season 3 so what I did was checked them out of the library. I had to wait a couple of times to get them but it was well worth it. Couple of times I had fun with marathon watching of the DVDs. Think of it - you are paying taxes for your local libraries. Might as well use them.

Like that idea.......need to get a card. I tried a year ago. I went to the Lockport library and they told me, sorry this is not your library, you have to go to Homer Glen. Went to Homer Glen a couple days later and they were closed for construction...havent been back.... I live in Lockport....this makes no sense to me. I also heard you can get downloads free to youe IPAD from the library. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks!

One way to tell if you are in a specific library district if you are incorporated and own your own home is to look on your itemized tax bill as it will tell you where your tax dollars are going to. Some unincorporated areas have to pay extra to utilize a close by library.  As far as downloads I am not sure how "rich" your library district is and what kind of media that it has. For mine it is a little backwards at times and as of a few years ago it still had its head in the sand with technology. It has come a long way since then. I am still trying to wrap my mind around the system that is at our library which uses My Media Mall and how to select a book to check out and then retrieve it on the mall website. I will get it eventually. I have an email into the adult services librarian to set up a one on one - which is free to a card holder.

As far as your question for the download to your iPad I do not know. With my library the physical DVDs are just that - you have to reserve them and pick them up. We do have eAudiobooks and books in the digital format in addition to print books

I have enjoyed a few of the free books or should say short stories that I have downloaded from Amazon and Wattpad. They actually in my opinion are only short stories like you would read in say Good Housekeeping but they seem slightly longer. They are just enough for me to escape for a while.  I will wait for a while to actually purchase a book. That is just me - I am cheap!

I will be interested in hearing what the outcome of your library system is with your iPad.

If you go to free ebooks, on your iPad, there are a number of free sites. I refuse to purchase any books or games are whatever, when there are free sites.
