Good morning all.  Eating too many sweets and carbs lately but I guess that is better than bourbon.  Northwestern Support group is for NW WLS people only.  Not nice.  I need some real live carboholics in person.

Randy

So you have been forgiven?

Hello there - good to "see" you.

I have an affinity for carbs also and would rather eat them than protein or veggies.

Off to the Creek to serve later on but before that we will stop at Costco. Our car will be our fridge for the cold food. Have 5 Russia guys coming for dinner on Thursday and need to get the fixins.

Later Gators . . .

Good Morning,

Randy, welcome, I think we all have a carb demon. I am trying to curb mine, and I will let eveyone know if I can find a way to stop eating them.

Chris, what are you fixing for your Ru ssian visitors?

Crystal, I hope you are able to relax a bit this weekend.

I am planning on staying home today. I might venture out to Hubert's garage for a paint brush and some painters tape, but I will wait until the wind dies down. I am going to paint the one accent wall in the dining room. the room is beige, with a soft green wall, and I bought some darker green to use for contrast.

Try to stay warm for the next few days,

Hugs,

Lisa

The key to serving food for foreign visitors is to not serve them a food that they can have at home. So we are having baked pork tenderloin (a Weber grill recipe adapted to be baked) with gravy (bakes in the gravy), celery and mushrooms, mashed red skinned potatoes with the skins on, a light salad with mandarin oranges lettuce and spinich and slivered almonds, cornbread casserole and for dessert pumpkin bars. We found out that they like to have beer before, red and white wine during and they like tequilla with their beer. We also are having 2 "appiteasers" before. They like to eat late so we will not eat until about 9pm. They are clients/employees of one of our relatives from TX. They are touring "garbage and garbage truck" facilities in IL, WI & IA. We are looking forward to their visit but not the late time. BUT they still have to go to work the next day so they will not be partying all night long. They need to go to Romeoville the next morning and then get on a plane to return to Russia the next day. Oh, and only 2 of them speak English + my relative.

Hello everyone

Oh I love a carb the way a drowning man loves a life preserver...LOL!!!!  I read once that the more you say no the stronger your willpower becomes and the easier it will be to say no next time....well that's a bunch of baloney!!!!  For me it's hard every time....sometimes it's harder than other times but it's hard every time.

The fruit infuser that I am buying has a place to put the fruit so that the fruit is not freely swimming around in the water.....and can be removed easily afterwards if the fruit is becoming discolored or limp in the water.  I know you can strain but this is just something to make my life a little easier.

When I bought my mixer it came with a $25 gift card.  Well I just used that to buy a wireless printer.  I have needed one for a while and I found a good deal online.  With my gift card it is costing me $37....not bad.  And its a Cannon so no off brand weird name I never heard of.  I refuse to buy a "good" deal if it's a brand I never heard of .

Sharon-  By the way I am the same way about those TV shows.  I have this fear about gaining tons of weight and ending up like them.  The fear started when I was 360 lbs and just never went away.

Today I am working all day from home...well Chris's home.  But I am taking time out to treat them all to lunch.  They boys get to choose the restaurant.  So we will see where we will end up eating.  That is my whole day....working and eating out lunch.

Have a good day all...bye

Yep, I got my printer at Costco and it is a canon also. I also see them at Walmart. I paid $50.00 and it works like a champ...(so far) Sharon ;)

We have an Epson 837 wireless multifunction printer and love it. The only thing we do not like about it is that it only holds 100 sheets of paper. The print quality is fantastic and it can duplex your printing.
