Wednesday Roll Call
Good morning,
It's time for my knitting group so I am happily up and dressed and ready to go. Other than that there is nothing much going on here this week.
I tried the kale again yesterday and it's much better right out of the oven than cold. Won't do that again if I can't have it hot!
I've been hearing more from my younger son who is trying something new in his life in regard to work. At 37 I made a major change and my parents were negative, so now that he's 37 I am keeping my mouth shut except to say "Go for it!" It's always good to remember I am not in charge of his life. What ever road he follows will offer him the life lessons he needs. It's not my journey. My job is to love him and cheer him on!
I hope each of you has a lovely day,
Connie

Good Frigid Morning my Snow Bunnies!
Yes, Connie I decided a long time ago that the less I say, the better I am off when it comes to my adult daughter. She is 36 and I rarely if ever, advise her. She gets miffed at me when she asks me for advice and I stay mum. I have learned she doesnt hear me the way I say things, and it can cause probs. Connie, you are so right; our job is to love them and cheer them when they get to be adults.
I came into an ice rink in the parking lot at work. Unfortunately it is too cold for the salt to work today. The only thing I do not like about this job is being the landlord when tenants complain. It stresses me out. One of our tenants is the director of a pregnancy resource center and she is a bit pushy. She walks right past the staff and reception and walks into my office and it doesnt matter if I am on the phone or if I have someone else in my office. She is also passive aggressive. Ok I am done yacking.
Crystal, when are you going to the gym? Is it busy at that time. Can you get on the machines?
I am off to do some more work. Enjoy this day the Lord has given us.
Hugs,
Sharon
Good afternoon Connie and the rest of Illinois!
Let's see if OH will cooperate today.......
I spent the morning at the Rockford airport playing, "Hurry up and wait". I was asked (as a volunteer) to be an extra in a commercial for Rockford Bank & Trust. Original shoot time was 10:15 am. Got an email yesterday saying it was changed to 9:15. Fine. Got up and got ready and got stuck behind a plow during the drive. I had planned to be there at 9. Wound up arriving at 9:20 am. Shooting started at.........about 10:25! Then, we did it over and over and over again! It was still lots of fun and I had no where else to be. The director and all said we did a great job and who knows......maybe they will call me again for another local shoot! I DID learn that you can sign up with agencies to be called and usually, they pay. Sometimes $ 100.00 per day but sometimes WAY more! That is just for being an "extra". If you actually speak, you get paid more. FUN! I also told everyone I came in contact with how Liv and I are very involved in the Playhouse. I figured it was a good plug!
The Orange Chicken came out more like General Tsao's so the boys had to eat it. It was a lot of work and if I do it again, I will leave the peppers out entirely. I AM craving the Chinese Chicken Noodles......or at least the Chicken part. It had a great flavor.
This weekend is Todd's "Christmas" party when we go to the hotel. Liv has to work and David has not been home for a week so we decided to spend it without children. It will be a grown up time with our friends. I am looking forward to seeing some people that I only see during this particular weekend.
I am not going to push my luck with OH any further today!
Everyone have a wonderful afternoon and evening!
