I took a couple extra days off to get my head  on straight from last week so I will be home through Wednesday.

We are going to get our passports renewed today. I have all the forms prefilled out from the internet, the USPO will take our pic, we plunk down the $$ and wait for the new docs in the mail.

We are going to go see Saving Mr. Banks either today or tomorrow. It is nice to get the Senior rate now.

What is happening in your world?

&

Small change of plans - we will do the passports tomorrow. My one sister is in from IN and we are going out to Portillo's for lunch instead. I just have to drive to her in Warrenville where she is staying at her daughter's house. More important to do family time than see a movie etc.

Good Morning Christine and OH Family,

I was expecting an arctic blast when I walked out of the house this morning and was surprised at how mild it felt. Now granted, I had just had a hot flash and the sun is shining on the exit I use. I hear we are getting more snow, especially north. Please safe my dear ones.

Handling year end stuff at work and hope to have it all done by noon tomorrow so I can leave for the 1/2 day close.

I love the senior rates and discounts. It makes me happy every time I get one. I also love being 55 almost 56, the 50's so far have been the best. Every decade just keeps getting better.

Well, I am off to work some more. Hugs, Sharon

At 60 I now like to say that I am another day closer to Medicare!

I think the mildness that is being felt is because there isn't much wind - yet.

Sharon-  I have to agree each decade keeps getting better.  I'm glad to hear the 50's are better than the 40's....something to look forward to.

I never did understand people that get so upset about aging.  I love my birthdays.  Not to mention Chris is younger than me and I am forever teasing about being the "old" lady to his "young" stud...hahaha!!!!

Hello everyone

I am actually feeling the freezing cold....brrrrr.  I just want to stay under my blanket till Spring!!!!

Yesterday I stopped by for a tour of the gym I want to join it is very nice.  I am very excited to join.  We made the pretzels....and yes it is the big ones, like they sell in the mall.  I don't like them so just they guys ate them.  It was fun making them though.

Today is nothing special just work and working out.  I am making turkey burgers minus the bun for dinner.  Yummy!!!  That is it for me.

Yesterday I had a special treat....fried pickles...oh they are yummy.

Well I better get back to work...stay warm.  Bye

I am not too crazy about the large pretzels either, too much dough. Never had a fried pickle and am not sure I would really care for them. I dump easily on fried foods.

Not too much wind out there yet. I felt the cold walking across the parking lot at Meijer's but it was not too bad.

Hello Everyone

BRR is another word for ice cold which is what the outside is right now.  Rick was moaning last night that it was going to get cold overnight as I turn the heat down at night.  I cannot stand to sleep in a warm room.  I reminded him that I got an early Christmas gift to him of an electric blanket.  Just turn it up a notch or two.    I have to say it is nice to crawl into a warm bed but I either have my side on the lowest setting or turned off.  If I am too hot I get weird nightmares.

Today I got a lot of projects done around the house.  Including updating the Garmin gps that I got Rick for Christmas.  That was a chore.  Had to download 3 different programs to get it to recognize the gps.  Then it took over 3 HOURS for the updates to happen.  So when I saw I was going to be without my computer for that time frame, we went grocery shopping.  It was crowded!  Our timing has been bad the last two weeks.  Went Christmas eve and today and both times people were everywhere.

Tonight is watching tv and vegging with the cats.  They provide the side entertainment.

Also tonight I am sad.  A local girl who was 18 just lost her battle with cancer.  She was a wonderful young lady with a bright future.  So if you see a new brilliant star in the night sky, it is shining for Cora Peters.

I hope everyone is warm and toasty. Have a great New Years eve!
