'Tis Tuesday morn - What is going on in your world? We will go and get the passports renewed today as we had planned yesterday.

Anyone have any special plans for tonight? We have stopped going out on NYE years ago, too many drunks on the road. We will probably be in bed even before 9 ish. Man, we are getting old!

Happy New Years Eve.

We are going to the K of C to have dinner, then we will come home. I do not like the bar scene on any night, especially the nights that everyone is determined to get drunk. Hubert is working in the morning, his choice. I really don't mind, it gets me time to start on the books when it is quiet.

I am working today until 4:30, then home.

This cold weather stinks! I was subbing at an office yesterday that I don't think was set over 55. It took me hours to warm up. I think I am getting to old for this.

Tomorrow I will be making corn beef and cabbage. It is a habit we have gotten into. Plus, besides steak, is Huberts favorite meal. What New Years traditions do you have? When I was growing up, my mother served herring on New Years. It is still a favorite of mine, at all times.

Hugs, and be careful in the snow and wind.

Lisa

We do not have any NYD traditions but we do watch the Rose Parade on HGTV every year even if we are in the Dells. Love that it does not have any commercials during the broadcast.

Hello everyone

I am planning on staying in too.  I am not a going out and party on New Years kind of gal.  Not to mention with the weather the way it is...I'm staying in.  After work I'm going to run some errands and do groceries then I will go home and stay home.

No New Years traditions here.  We always just stayed home and watched Dick Clark and ate popcorn...Hey I guess that's a tradition!!!  I don't do that now.  I avoid all countdowns...they bore me.  I watch movies.

I am dreading the rest of the Winter...Ugh!!!

Amanda said she told her host family how cold it gets here and they have trouble comprehending that.  She said it never gets that cold there.  If it did they would probably die because no one has indoor heating (or cooling)!!!  The kitchens are outside so they couldn't even stay warm with a fireplace or stove.

I hope my day flies by.  Yesterday was pretty quick because I was busy, busy, busy all day.  I hope today is the same.  I just want my day off to start ASAP!!!

Well better get back to work...stay warm all.  Bye

We went to Jewel after the PO and it was not very busy. It might get busy later on with last minute shoppers and some people do have to work today.

Happy New Year's Eve,

We are going to Social for dinner (are you surprised? LOL) Then we've been invited to a big party. We love the people, but the weather will determine whether or not we mush out. Tomorrow we are having the knitters here for lunch so I made red beans and we'll have rice and cornbread and salad. this is a typical first day of the year tradition for us even though we can't eat much of it at at time. It freezes well and we eat it about once a week. I hope the snow doesn't stop the knitters.

We rarely stay up till midnight on New Year's which is kind of weird because we frequently stay up that late reading. I'm not sure what that 's about. I guess it's the celebration of the New Year right at midnight that doesn't have much interest for us.

I finished a lovely shawl this morning with about two yards of yarn left (cutting it a little close). I will post it on Facebook in case you want to see it.

Hopefully you were not too hampered by the weather last night. We had about 4" so far (7AM) and are bracing for more.
