Wednesday Roll Call
Fast fly by. I have a mandatory training here in a few minutes for 1 1/2 hrs. Anything away from the desk is good time.
See ya later.
edited to add:
The training was hazmat training. All village employees have to go to it even if they do not come in direct contact with anything out on the street. It is OSHA requirements and there was a test at the end. It was interesting and they also dealt with chemicals that the non street employee might come in contact with in the workplace.
It is about time the legislature signed into law a pension plan. Thankfully my pension plan is not a part of the cuts the state workers will go through. My part of my plan that I fall under has two tiers and I fall in the first one. Several years ago they changed the statute for the newer employees that are covered under the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. I was vested at 8 years, full retirement at age 60 or 35 years which ever comes first. I met the age this year.

Hello everyone
I have the day off today...woohoo!!!
We are taking the day to finish off Chris's Christmas shopping. He likes my ideas for presents so I am coming along. Not to mention I seem to know where the stores are he needs to go to...hahaha!!! And I'm not even a huge shopper. But before we do all that I am running over to do my grocery shopping. Chris won't be waking up for awhile.
They are ordering Chinese for lunch today...which is fine with me. I hate Chinese food...all of it. Yuck. But tomorrow...I put in a request and they are going to do it. Can you guess what I requested??? If you guessed Chipotle you're right...hahaha!!! They cater now and I told them and they said...OK. Are there any other places that cater???
Yesterday we had Panera they ordered a bunch of premade sandwiches and soup and salad and chips. I had 1/2 of a smoked turkey sandwich with mustard (with no crusts...of course) and a pickle. It was a nice lunch. I enjoyed it. Everyone went ga-ga over the broccoli cheese soup and this chicken ceasar salad....but really my lunch was much less calories.
Christine- Thanks for the info on the grocery store. It sounds like something I will like. I am excited for them to open now.
Well I have to go get ready....see you all later. Bye
Good afternoon Chris and the rest of Illinois:
I got up to a phone call from one of my "kids" in Virginia asking if I could take her father to Wal-Mart as his truck broke down and they needed food. I said that I would. He turned out to be a pretty nice guy for a former Marine. I had heard he was kind of scary, but he was nice.
While there, I picked up some Greek yogurt to help with the soft foods. I came home, did the dishes and now feel like I need a rest. Face is aching just a little. I took Tylenol before I left but it is wearing off now.
I am in awe of anyone that has their shopping done. I do a majority of mine online, but can't seem to get the "umph" to do even that. I guess it is because we do not really "do" Christmas until after Todd's birthday, which is tomorrow. Not sure what I will do for that yet either.
I have an eye appointment tomorrow, so I will have to go into Rockford. Maybe I will ask him to meet for dinner and I will have soup. We will see.
Everyone have a splendid day and stay safe in this fog!
Hi,
Just a late stop over for me. I worked today, it was a bit busier, but not much, came home and went to a Chinese buffet. It all stayed down, so that was a good thing. Of course, I watched what I ate, and no deserts.
Tomorrow is cleaning house, doing my Friday running (heading to see Dr. Guskie on Friday), and seeing what else I can get done.
Saturday, we will be spending with Annette and Rick. It will be a breakfast, brunch thing, then shopping for them, me getting a tatoo of a rose (Thier Christmas present to me) and opening presents. They will be in Minn. for Xmas week with Ricks Family.
Hubert will go back to work on Sunday, then I will find something to do.
Hugs to all,
f
