My aunt and I were talking in her car today and we started to talk about medical stuff like allergies, surgeries, joint replacement(s), and so on and then she says that one of her friedns uses a FitBit for medical stuff like her medical history that you can store medical history on a FitBit, Can you do that with a FitBit? She said something about being a memory card stick that you can wear on your wrist or around your neck. What I'm saying is, Can you use FitBit to store medical history, surgeries (weight loss surgery, joint replacement surgeries, allergies, etc.? If so, Where can I find one at? Can I get one at a pharmacy or somewhere else?

If the FitBit does not do that stuff, What is out there that I can use to store my medical history on to a memory card type device that use like at a airport or at some hospital let alone for an emergencies?

I hope I made sense.

I have a Fitbit. It's the $100. one because I wanted to be able to measure my sleep too. However I hardly use that part of it. I don't think it holds medical information because it clears itself every 24 hours. Now it is connected by bluetooth to my computer and cell phone, an iphone5. It possibly could store your medical information on a phone or computer but you wouldn't have access without that phone or computer. It measures walking, stair climbing, distance moved, calories burnt each day. You can list your food eaten on the phone or computer and that is stored, but not on the fitbit itslf. My bariatric program and also a local hospital stores your medical info on something called "My chart" and I can access all that info by phone app or computer app so it's available when I travel and I didn't have to type it in. Also free, so you might check on that.I think if you go to fitbit on line you can find out all it does and it may do things I haven't used or known about yet. My partner has the $60. one and it seems to be just fine for exercise. We bought ours at Target.

Good luck,

Connie

Cool. That much? It seem their are a lot of things out their that can do a lot. I was wondering about FitBit and if it was one of the this that I've mention in my bout at FitBit. I'm just looking for something that I can get to store my medical info on it including my surgery history on it besides a medical I.D. thing. That reminds me I have to get another step counter for walking. I do use "My Chart" with Nortwestern Memorial Hospital. I'll check ut the app too. One day this week I'll go up there to ask one of my doctors about what I need to know. Thank you for you info and your reply to my post.

Have a great evening Connie.

Thank you.

Jason.

AAAAWWWW, in a word no. None of the Fitbits retains medical history. It is strictly for daily activity logging and the dashboard is for logging other things like food and other activities beyond sleep, steps and stair climbing. I have the Fitbit One and it syncs to my smartphone. There might be others that sync but I am not sure which ones.

I do not use the food logs nor other activities beyond sleeping. That is just me as I do not have the time to keep physical or cyber lists of whatever . . .

You either have to buy a Fitbit from a retailer (Best Buy, Meijer or on line from the company).
