Thursday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I will get my car back today or tomorrow the latest. I'm so happy!!! I think I might dance!!! Yeah!!! I can run errands again!!! And go to Chipotle tomorrow!!!
The lady that has been driving me back and forth to work every day...she only lives a mile away from me. I have been thinking of ways to thank her for her help. Well I found out her birthday is coming up and her boys are out of town and she just broke up with her boyfriend. So she is feeling really lonely. So first off me and a couple of girls from work are taking her to this Mexican restaurant near work and her first tequila is on me. But I told my friend we need to find out what her favorite dessert is so strike up a conversation about dessert and talk about cakes and cookies. Well it worked..I found out to my delight that her favorite dessert is chocolate banana cheesecake!!! Well...cheesecake is my specialty!!! I can make a cheesecake like nobody's business. Any kind of cheesecake...you name it I will make it. So I will make her a chocolate banana cheesecake complete with a "Happy Birthday" on top. Yeah!!!
I see Chris tonight too for the first time this week...he's been so busy with orientation and work. He will have his normal hours starting tomorrow. But tonight he coming over around 6 and I'm crockpot beer chicken breasts and these sinfully delicious cheesy bacon potato bites. I can only eat like 2-3 so I don't rack enough calories for these to to be sinful enough...hahaha. But Chris could use a lot calories...so he can eat the rest. Then we are going to just settle in for the night.
I have been running the stairs at work during lunch ....this is such a good workout I tell you. I can only go 10-15 minutes before I am starting to sweat...and I need to slow down. I can't be all sweaty at work. And I am definitely breathing heavily. I was thinking it's a good thing that my complex has a gym because I wouldn't have been able to workout at all this week.
So I'm not sure what I am doing today because I could be getting my car. So I have to keep things open after work. What are you up to today???
Well back to work...have a great day all. Bye
Good morning,
I am going to Starbucks to knit until the Woolgathering opens and then there for a while. Kay wants eggplant added to leftovers from last night so I guess I'll do that this afternoon.
Tomorrow I go to Madison to have the allergy test read. It's not as itchy as when the paper was on it (awful) but still itches a lot. I hope there is a solution!
I hope you get your car back today. Being without is so annoying!
I'm keeping each of you in my thoughts as you deal with the issues facing you. Take care of yourself!

Connie- I had allergy tests done too. I was amazed how much I was allergic to. I joked that if it's green and outside I'm allergic to it. But I am allergic to a quite a list of trees...all of the common ones you can think of. I am allergic to grass, ragweed, mold, dust...and of course wheat.
The test will also tell you the severity of the allergy to each item. So some things you will only be slightly allergic to. I had no really high allergic reactions to anything. But a few things fell into the moderate range.
I have a few contact allergies from soaps. And weirdly enough when I was out walking this Summer when people were cutting their grass I noticed that my skin on my arms would itch. This never happened to me before.
Good luck...hopefully you can find some comfort in knowing what you're allergic to.
Good Morning.
I am home today, and have already started on the housework. 2 rooms done, and a few more to go. I also have laundry started. Leftover chicken for dinner. Probaly a chicken cassarole of some sort. Not sure what else.
Christine, it was so nice to see you yesterday. Please come back more often.
Ellen, it is so nice to meet you.
Sharon, have a great day, relax a bit.
Nancy, remember, you were looking for a job when you found this one, and if you get let go, you will find another.

Janet, stop by and talk to us.
Hugs,
Hi all. Well I've been up since 5am, as I volunteered to take a very good friend to her sleeve surgery today. So I reach out to you all from her recovery room. She's napping nicely and isn't in too much pain. I'm glad to be able to be here for her! I have to admit though, I'M STARVING. And I don't want to go get anything since she can't eat or drink for 24 hours. My 2 cheese sticks at 5:15 and the 2 slices of bacon I found in the hospital cafeteria are not holding me anymore. Wish I could have tolerated their eggs because that would held me over more that's for sure. Anyway, that's my day.
Her surgeon was the same as mine - in fact she pursued the surgery because of me and my experience - and I ran into the bariatric coordinator here so we had a nice sit down to talk about my challenges (oy!) and my recent changes that are helping me move past them. But I think you'll all appreciate this: when I saw her, she said, OMG you look smaller already. And younger! How do you look younger in 3 weeks? So we'll call that today's NSV.
Talk to you all soon, Ellen
Good afternoon Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
I just got back from my second session and we will see. It just feels good to let stuff out. Not sure if he is the one for me, but I will give him a chance.
Tuesday night, I went to my girlfriend's house in Beloit to spend the night so we could go to Madison yesterday. We went to breakfast then downtown Madison for a "Going out of Business" sale (Connie---Shaktri), and I introduced her to Trader Joe's. It was a long day as I took an incorrect way home and it took over 2 hours to get to Beloit to drop her off. Oh well.......it was an adventure.
Connie------What happened to the Bookworm? What is going in the space and is she moving? I am so sad to hear it.
I really appreciate all the love and support while I navigate this new area of my life. It really helps to have it reinforced that I am a loved person.
I am getting ready to roast a butternut squash and a chicken for dinner. Can't wait for my house to smell devine! Did you know that you can just put the whole squash in the oven, on a baking sheet and roast at 425? An average squash will take 90 minutes. No cut fingers or swearing involved!!!!!!!!! After it is roasted, you clean it and can add whatever you wish or make soup or whatever. EASY-PEASY, Lemon Squeezy! Delicious! Too bad my family won't touch it.
Crystal......it is great that you want to do something nice for your friend and maybe I will have you make a cheesecake for David one day. He (and I) love it, but I have never really made one.
OK........on my way to the kitchen.
Everyone have a wonderful day!
