Monday Roll Call

Hello everyone

Well I had a nice but busy weekend. 

I am happy to say I think I am finally going to be included in family parties.  Remember I was worried about being invited to family get togethers (because the last one I wasn't invited but his ex was).  Well we were invited to his mom's house for lunch (she made a very yummy chicken soup)...during that time she mentioned that they will have to plan to get together for the October birthdays (Chris's birthday, his dad's and one of his son's birthday all fall in October).  I guess they have one big party for all 3.  Later in the night I said to Chris if I am invited I will make a cheesecake (they love my cheesecake) and he said "I'm inviting you...and if anyone has a problem with it they can leave" meaning his ex.  I was shocked by his comment...he is always so "lets tip toe around and not upset anyone".  So I'm not sure what brought that on.  Maybe the way his ex acted on Friday???  I don't know but he seems to have lost his patients with her....as far as I am concerned.  He is going to be with me like it or not. 

Talking about Chris's birthday it's tomorrow.  I am taking him to this place in the Bolingbrook Promande called The Beer Market.  Chris is into beer...IPAs and craft beers...so on.  Tonight I am making a homemade german chocolate cake...everything is homemade including the icing,  This will be a busy evening. 

I also will be busy at work because I was off Friday so I will be going in and having to do fridays's work on top of everything else.  UGH!!!  So how is your day looking today???

i have a busy day too for a change. I have to go to my accountants for a meeting and they are in Harvard, IL. I also have an afternoon appt in Madison to have the drain removed, I hope! Then I'm going to meet Kay who is teaching till 3 to have a quick meal and then we are going to "walk with the doc" since Dr. Garren is leading the walk. Dawn, it's at 6 in Hoyt park on Regent west of Midvale. Join us!  Then the long drive home in two cars. Oh well, I think it will be fun!

Not sure what kinda day I am going to have. This whole season has been different.

Yesterday after cooking, I worked on my current rug,then started on one of the baby blankets. I can't work on them long, because I get blisters on my thumbs, That is what I get for using right handed sizzors.

Same here with me, I do have two doctor appointments at Northwestern Memorial Hospital today and one of the two appointments is with the "Chiari surgeon" and I hope he get the paper work started today and I hope I find out if when I get the surgery date for the Chiari.

I've been so busy lately it's been crazy over the week. Sounds like you been busy too, sorry to hear you have blisters on your thumbs.

I'm here, as I said I've been busy lately. I'm sorry I haven't checked in as of late. I've been off and on on this site. I'll try to give an update later on today.

Good Morning Everyone!

Brrr, it was chilly out this morning!  I spent the weekend vegging and catching up on sleep.  It was wonderful!  Now I am ready to face the work week whiners and all. 

I did get a slap in the face when I first started work today and saw the date.  28 years ago my dad died.  It doesnt seem possible that it is that long.  I miss him terribly.  I lost a cousin ove the weekend so life and death is on my mind. 

This week I do have a couple of doctor appointments so that will keep me busy. 

Connie, I hope you do get that drai out today!  Have a nice walk as well!

Jason, my thoughts are with you for your doctor's appointment.

Crystal, I am so happy that you are back with Chris and things are working out.

Wow! I'm so sorry to hear. I know what that feels like that it doesn't seem that long, this December will my 4 years since my mother died. I do miss her dearly. Wow! Sorry to hear about your cousin, I bet it is.

 

Thank you, my two appointments went well today and from one of my two appointment I found out today that I have a surgery date for my Chiari which is for October 24th. It's just around the corner. I'm getting nervous about the surgery.

Sorry about your dad. I lost my dad this past January. So I know how your heart feels. Also, sorry about your cousin. I'll be thinking of you and the family during this trying time.

Good afternoon Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I have been very busy since Wednesday night when Riley arrived, then I forgot to check in over the weekend.  I did catch up on reading the posts finally.

Crystal....so glad to hear that Chris has come to understand how much you mean to him.  He and Todd could probably talk for hours about beer.  We are discussing going to the Lake Geneva Beer & Spirits Festival on Nov. 2.  I will take the DD ticket.  Maybe you guys would also like to go.  I don't mind going to these things with him, but I don't know much about beer.

Riley and I had a great time.  We made homemade tomato sauce then used it as a pizza sauce for home made pizzas.  I used the last of it last night for chicken parmesan.  YUMMY.

Friday, her and I made a quick run to Madison to go to Ragstock on State St. for a princess dress that I saw when we were there about 3 weeks ago. 

I also picked up a few other kids costumes to take to my friend.  She is gathering costumes and dress up clothes for the Carrie Lynn Center (for abused children) and the homeless shelter.  I will be digging through the rest of my Halloween stuff today and taking them to her tonight.

Saturday, Todd and I had an unexpected day alone together.  We had breakfast with his ball team then went to Monroe, where we ran into friends and had dinner.

Connie-----I would LOVE to join you guys, but I think I will be taking the costumes.  I will see if I can rearrange a few things.

Dawn, the walk was fun even if I couldn't complete it. I'm proud of myself for trying!
