Thursday Roll Call
Good morning,
My friend Bob will have his leg amputated this morning if he is stable enough, so prayers are still needed. Thanks everyone for your concern and support. As I said a few days ago, I know this family from the OH lap band support page and we've been online firneds since '07. We've posted, texted and talked on the phone over the years, much like this Illinois group. This is really an amazing service that OH provides!
Other than that, I'm really getting better, I don't take as many naps and I just FEEL better. What a long haul, but it's all moving in the right direction now.
Thinking of all of you today, this new day of cooler temps!

Morning Connie and Friends,
I am home today until I go to the MD about the Effexor side effects. It has really brightened my mood, but my waistline has suffered. All I think about is food. I have gained about 15 lbs and I am going off the meds. I'd rather be borderline blue than fat again. Sad huh? But I know you all can relate. I refuse to start gaining after all the hard work I have put in over the last 17 months.
I opened my doors and windows to get air in the house because I heard it cooled off and it was too muggy. I'll try again tomorrow.
Connie I am glad you are getting back to your old self. Bob and his family are still in my prayers.
Be well today as you go thru the day.
Hugs,
Sharon
Hi,
Well, yesterday flew by, I got home at 5:15 from work, and at 5:20 we left to go out with friends for dinner at 6. We drove over to Dwight, about 25 miles from here, to a place called Turtles. There is also one in Morris. Anyway, I had their Italian stuffed shrimp. It is a appetizer, and something I really love. You get 6 shrimp, stuffed with melty cheese, lightly breaded, and sauce to dip them in. I did eat 3, and you know what I am having for lunch today :) We went to Dairy Cream after, I did order a small blizzard, ate about 4 bites, and the rest is in the freezer.
Today, my car is in the shop on a recall for a timer belt, so I am carless until 3 or so. Then tonight, we are going to see a play, Boing, Boing. It looks like it will be good. There is only one play left after this, Then we won't see any until May.
Have a great day,
Huggers,
I am going late to a meeting and then to WalMart to see if I can get a new arm to replace a broken one on my glassess. Then to Halstead and Roosevelt for Indian take out. Hangout in the loop then a Chicago Python Users Group meeting at Braintree on Canal and home again. I walked two miles this morning so this will have me beat when I get back.
Hello everyone
Well I am feeling 100% better now. Thank god. And thanks again for calming my nerves you guys and my friends at work did make me feel better. I never had an abnormal pap...and you find out what that could mean and it freaked me out a little.
Today after work I have to run to Target and then to CVS. I also have to do laundry. I have a cookout to go to on Sunday and I have to bring something I decided to bring my brownies. I have all of the ingredients here in the house so I will whip those up tonight or tomorrow night. I was thinking my pound cake...but brownies just sound more like a cookout dessert.
Connie- I hope your friend makes it through surgery and recovery and will be back to his old self. I will be sending him lots of healing vibes.
I got to get back to work...have a good day all...Bye
Good morning Connie and the rest of Illinois!
It is beautiful here.....75 and sunny with a light breeze. My house is open for sure!
Today, I have some house cleaning and packing to do. I am going to Madison with a girl friend to celebrate her birthday for the weekend. AFTER I stop my my In-Law's house to see family that has come in for his annual party. I decided that this is the way to be the "bigger person". I will still get to see family, but I will do it BEFORE that actual party and be gone before it starts. Hopefully, we can be on our way by 2:30.
Olivia has begun applying for colleges. How exciting! I am hoping that she really looks into Yale, but it will be her decision.
Oh...and Nancy------the recipe for the chicken is really not. It is: strips of chicken (I use thigh meat) cooked, broccoli steamed to tender-crisp, then all drained and mixed together with General Tao's sauce from Trader Joe's! EASY. I personally don't eat the sauce, but they love it! It has a tiny bit of spice to it.
I made Carnitas in the crock pot yesterday and that was also very good. I found it at Aldi's.
That's about it from my corner!
Everyone have a lovely day!
Dawn- What is Liv's Major? Because Yale might not be the best school for her major. I know of course Yale is a major big deal...but if it doesn't fit her major than might not be the best choice. Like for Amanda...Uof I was the the best school for agriculture and Environmental Science is lumped into that so she couldn't have asked for a better education and a more recognizable school in the region.
But I agree it is exciting!!!! Amanda applied to 5 colleges because she was so sure she would get a bunch of turn down letters. She was accepted by all 5. She always fears the worst.
Liv wants to be a Marine Biologist, with the idea of working with large ocean mammals. I have searched the internet numerous times to be told the BEST way to do this is to do the first 4 years majoring in Biology, then the next 4 years specializing in Marine Biology.
She has been looking at schools that have a 4 year program in Marine Biology, then was thinking of doing the doctorate at a different school. It wasn't until Yale came calling that she even considered doing the recommended path.
Sobriety is apparently bad for my mind. At 11:45 I thought I had missed my noon meeting. I went to Jewel to get cash and a day pass and when going to get the bus to WalMart I found I had left my phone at home so I came home and needed to kill some time before going out or I would have to dawdle in the loop way too long.
