Flies Everywhere.....

I need advice............

I left my house this morning and everything was fine. I got home at 5 and there were approximately 30-40 flies in my house. I noticed when I was putting the key in the door there were tons of flies circling around my front door. Do you think it could be because I made sauerkraut today? I read on the internet flies are extremely attracted to pungent food smells. But how did that many get in my house. I could see a few getting in but I rarely even have one fly in my house. I and G have managed to kill 90% of them. But does anyone have an answer for this?????? When I think of the germs they are carrying, I want to cry.

I do not have an answer, but a similar thing happened to me on Labor Day as I was getting ready for the lawn mower pulls.  I happened to look up at the ceiling in my kitchen (thank goodness!) and a huge area was COVERED with those little green bugs that you sometimes see on plants.  I have NO IDEA how they all got in and we vacuumed them up lickety split!  Have not had an issue since.  I would have been horrified if my guests had seen them!

Ya that reminded me of the time I was swarmed with gnats. 

When I lived in Oswego we had a light right outside our door and there was a swarm of nats...and me and Amanda opened the front door.  Without thinking I flipped on the inside switch and the swarm came inside and was on the kitchen light.  It took me and Amanda an hour to kill all the little bugs.  Then I had to go back and clean their dead bodies off my ceiling!!! 

After that no lights were switched on till after we shut the front door!!!  At least during the warm weather.

But have no clue as to why your situation occurred.
