I was sleeves in Chicago by doctor Elli in January and up to date I only lost 33 pound very frustrated my sleeve was a revision from band to sleeve. Despite, I have seen successful revision why not me ? I had the revision to be healthy but it seems like it won't happen. My diabetes and blood pressure never went on remission. I went see my surgeon two month ago he assure to me that I had a good sleeve Really a good one ??? So why Am I struggling yo lose the weight then. I am stuck in 195 the scale don't move much it goes up and down and stay in the same weight for month. The funny things is that I don't eat much. When I had the sleeve I was told I will be 130lb not even close to that. It just unfortunate how I lost a part of my body to gain nothing. I had to have iron infusion last week and my protein was low although I drink about 60 g of protein a day. I just don't know what to do it some what very embarrassing hearing your friend saying you have not loss much. Well that my dilemma hopefully someone with the same situation that over come it will help me out. Sometime I wonder I my sleeve was done right but who am I to know since I am not a doctor please I need good advise.
i AM SORRY YOU ARE HAVING SUCH A TERRIBLE TIME LOSING WEIGHT. YOU MENTIONED THAT YOU ARE GETTING ABOUT 60 GRAMS OF PROTEIN A DAY, BY LIQUID. aRE YOU GETTING 60 GRAMS A DAY WITH REAL FOOD? YOU NEED REAL FOOD AS WELL AS LIQUID. aLSO, ARE YOU EXERCIZING?
i WENT FROM BAND TO RNY IN APRIL, AND HAVE LOST 50.
gOOD LUCK, STICK WITH YOUR DIET, IT WILL COME OFF.
HUGS,
I would agree with Lisa. Unless you are having some kind of issues you aren't mentioning here, 8 months post op you shouldn't be relying so much on liquids. Are you able to eat solids...solid lean protein? That would satisfy your hunger better and longer. To me a good balanced meal is just a healthier option, than relying on drinks and shakes. Again unless you have some issues you aren't mentioning or you have doctors orders to take 60 grams by liquid...this just seems excessive.
I would make log my food. Start eating lean protein and complex carbs, high fiber foods (like veggies and fruits)...leave the bread, cereal, pasta, baked goods alone for now. Drink lots of water..and stop all liquid calories (coffee, liquor, soda).
And exercise, exercise, exercise.
This is what worked for me.

I eat solid food and mostly protein and it so weird when I eat meat I gain a pound and the scale won't move. The reason why I am drinking protein drink is that my protein level was low although I don't eat much the weight just won't come off it just so fustrated
Hi Princess.
I am sorry you have not had a big weight loss like some. Not everyone has a giant weight loss. Especially those who are about 230 lbs or less. I think losing 35 lbs is awesome.
I was sleeved in April 2012. I have not lost much this year. I know it is because I eat too many carbs. As soon as I start using my fitbit and document all my calories immediately start losing again.
For me, to lose, I have to follow 4 rules religiously: Journal all foods. Drink 100 oz of water per day. Eat mainly protein and low green carbs. Stay away from simple carbs completely. I then start to lose again. At this stage of the game, chicken is better than liquid protein. A shake is good for a snack but your body needs nourishment to lose. If you dont eat enough, you will not lose. I was starving myself last year and my body stopped expelling the fat and hung on to it. Since then I have been up and down. The same 10 lbs over and over again. I plan to get back on the wagon tomorrow. Old habits die hard; I still start all my diets on Mondays. Ugh!
I promise you if you eat a chicken breast and fill up the rest of your plate with greens you will start to lose. Dont forget the water! It is very important in getting the fat out of your body. Try to stay away from GMO's. Our livers have a hard time metabolizing weird food. When we eat that stuff, our livers get busy trying to figure out what to do with frankenstein foods we put in our bodies. Our livers become too clogged up dealing with the weird foods and forget to metabolize and get rid of our fat cells. Eating frankenfoods also stresses our adrenals and then it becomes hard to expel the fat. Our bodies are wonderful machines that need whole foods in them in order to work efficiently.
Blessings,
Sharon
