Sunday roll call
Hello All!
I have been mia a few days. On Friday, Rick and I headed east towards my sister's house in Indiana. On Saturday we had a family reunion where 10 of our cousins from 9 states joined together with their families. It was a great time! Some of my cousins I have not seen for over 10 or more years.
We all grew up going to family reunions every year but as adults scattered across the country. The parents still met but the kids did not always make it. Lots of memories at this reunions. All but one of our parents are deceased and none of us are kids any longer. One of my cousins had put together a cd from old home movies of reunions in the 60's. The we ranged in age from 10-23. Now we are the old people! 
We have lost two of our cousins and the oldest of us is 75 and he was not there as he is in intensive care with heart and pneumonia and not expected to make it. The next oldest was also at home unable to travel. Our mortality is smacking us in the face. But it was wonderful to see two new generations there. To know that these reunions will continue really touches me. I know how important they were to our Aunts and Uncles and it pleases me that it will continue.
It was a lot of road time -- over 8 hours each way but well worth it. I am left with a warm since of family and heritage and love for all my family. It was so good to see everyone!
