Wednesday "hump day" Roll Call

Hello everyone

It's going to be a wonderful day...the sun will be out.  It wont be too hot or too cold.  Get out there and have a nice walk.

Yes I am working overtime...though no where near the time I used to log.  I do put in maybe an extra 5-10 hours a week right now.  I limit myself to 10 hours extra a week.  I will tend to work too much and then I become overworked because I will still workout and make my meals.  But I have other things in my life now that I have to make time for.  Anyway, yesterday was another busy day at work.  Then I had to pick up some RXs at Walgreens.  Then I came home worked out, made dinner, gave myself a pedicure, and met Chris after work.  That was it.

Today I have to work of course and I have groceries and some errands to run around and do after work.  Then I will come home and make dinner and Chris is coming over for dinner.  That is it for me today.  What are you guys up to today???

I am also making myself another batch of that banana, peanut butter ice cream.  It's just banana and peanut butter frozen but has the consistency of ice cream and you can add cocoa if you like.  And it doesn't have no where near the fat and calories of ice cream or the chemical fest that the low fat stuff has.  It is yummy (of course I like Ben and Jerry's better, but this will do for now).

I am also making some dishwasher soap and laundry detergent some time this week.  It is super easy...takes an hour maybe.  Saves you a ton of money and is so much better than that crap that has nothing but chemicals in it.  I love it and depending on how you make at one time it can last you a long time.  I like to make small batches at a time.

Well I better get going...see ya later...have a great day.

Good Morning Crystal and Illinois Friends!

I am happy that it is hump day and I am loving this weather!    This is just the perfect climate for me.

Lately I have been investigating retirement overseas.  There are many places where Americans go to retire and you can live a VERY good life on $1500.00 per month.  Since my retirement pay is penalized, and I wont get much social security since my retirement if federal, I am seriously considering this.  I feel I do not have a lot of ties here except for my family and many of the places are within a 4 - 5 hour flight distance.  I dont see everyone more than a couple of times a year so what is the difference?  There are some beautiful places out there.  Prices are unbelievable and medical care is reportably equal to or better than the US health care system.

Yesterday I had my dentist appointment and Buffy had her 3 month old checkup.  She is a riot.  She came back from the vets in bad humor.  She is growling and grumping around!  She did NOT like this visit!  It was no different than her last visits other than she had the nails on one paw trimmed.  The audacity of that vet!  She also met two unfriendly cats and put them in their places with big hisses.  She is too funny.  I dred when she gets spayed in another 3 months.  She is Miss Drama Queen.

Today after work I have a hearing appointment.  That will not take long.  Usually I am in and out.  The rest of the week I am free!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Sounds interesting.....where exactly are you talking about "overseas"?    Sounds like something I might want to look at if it involves a beach.

Nancy-  you all got us wondering about this cheap wonderland.  Hmmm....I may go there too....especially if its somewhere warm.  Just think no more cold winters!!!  I could get used to that!

I have been looking at the countries of Panama, Ecuador, Costa Rica and perhaps Belize.  All are cariribian countries which have climates from the 6's to the 90.'s  You can pick how hot or cool you want it.  Each have their own advantages.  I have subscribed to a site called International Living.  It is also on Facebook.  They give you insight in these countries and locations and other locations.  All have their advantages.  It might be hard to decide.

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I am working and waiting to hear from Liv about her ear appointment.  Since I am on a 4 day work week, I didn't want to take the day off.  David isn't doing anything, so we asked him to drive her up there.  This will be her 6 month check up after the big surgery last fall.

Speaking of Liv.......those on Facebook know that her Senior picture backdrop wall was vandalized.......HORRIBLY.  Just broke my heart and my stomach was in knots all day.  I wanted to go straight home and paint over the vulgarities but was out-voted by family and friends.  I would attempt it myself, but since breaking the ankle, I am not too steady on such steep, uneven ground.  Turns out, I have some other friends that thought as I did and THEY went and painted over it and tagged it "Stay Classy".  I hope this is the end of the viaduct problem.  Unfortunately, a vacant house burned down last night and I am wondering if the same vandals may have been responsible?

Besides that, I think I might make BLT's for dinner.....sounds good!

Crystal----Good for you to realize that there are more important things in life than work.  Enjoy!

Nancy---Your kitten sounds so cute.  I miss having a baby around but Todd says no more after Toby (who is 11).

Everyone have a wonderful day and take a walk!

Dawn-  I'm so sorry that some one would do that to your daughter and her wall.  But I do believe that those people have terrible empty lives and already have gotten what's coming to them in spades...but karma will have more I'm sure.  Not that I am hoping for bad things to happen to them....just that I believe that you reap what you sew in life and I'm sure their lives already suck..and will suck even more now...hahahaha

I am so sorry that someone would destroy something special like this.  It makes you wonder just what problems and attitudes are causing this.  They need help.

Good Morning.
I love this weather too. I put on a summer sweater this morning, with my capris. And, I turned off the ac in the car.
Sharon, We also love Under the Dome. Even Hubert will stay up and watch it.
We always said that we were going to florida when we retired. Guess what, we aren't going anywhere. We have decided to stay close to our kids.
Crystal, any date set yet?
Dawn, I am so sorry someone defaced the wall. I hope they are caught.
Have a great day!
Hugs,

Lisa

The last time I posted I asked everyone to post dates they are available in August and no one did.  So I guess I will start a new post.
