Monday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I have been MIA all weekend because I have been sick. Not only with some kind of cold (I don't have Chris's strep so far..thank god) but I have been battle with this UTI. So needless to say is has wiped me out. I am going into work early because I am calling my doctor to see what he will want. I am sure he will want me in his office if he has time slot. It is a Monday...if not I am going to Urgent care.
I did get my blood tests over the weekend. Chris helped me decipher them better. I have that mycart app and my doctor's office can send test results and emails and I receive via my mychart app. I can also make appointments too. It's a wonderful thing. Anyway, one interesting fact...my protein is low. Not very low...more borderline low...but low none the less. I just don't get it. My WLS is not one that I have malabsorbtion. I eat what I thought was plenty of protein. So to add protein to my diet, I am adding an egg to my breakfast. I am also going to eat those chicken strips (you know the ones people but to put in salads), for lunch. I don't eat cold cuts, at least not on a regular basis. They are not good for you. I do by the nitrate, nitrite free lunch meat, but it's still full of sodium. Anyway, I am also going to make some chicken soup and bring that as leftovers for lunch. I don't want to add protein drinks or bars...I don't agree with those (they are usually full of sugar, calories, carbs, and chemicals). I'd rather eat actual food....I will use those as a last ditch effort. I will try to do this with natural foods....meat, beans, cheese. I have had problems with hair breakage (BIG time) I just thought it was because I flat iron my hair. But my biggest problem (and Chris's biggest concern) is I have these terrible leg cramps (charlie horses). I thought it was lack of potassium. Well I know it's not...I have normal levels. I read low protein levels can cause muscle cramps!!!!
I talked to Amanda yesterday. It's always nice to talk to her. She posted pictures from a latest adventure. They went back packing...down to the coast. But I guess the trail they used is one of the best trails. National Geographic rated it as one the worlds best. The pictures of course are beautiful. She is having the time of her life. In October they are taking a guided trek into the rain forest!!! She is s excited about that. That is an Environmental Science majors dream trip.
Well I have to go get ready...See you all later...have a nice day...bye
Good Morning,
I am finally back to work, at least until the 26th or the 31st. Then I will be off again until Sept. 1. Ok, I am glad to being going back.
Crystal, I am so sorry you were sick over the weekend. You can add either chicken or beef liver to your protein list. I make a mean chopped liver spread, since I won't eat it plain and onions.
Yesterday we had to go shopping for an AC for one of our rentals. The old one died. We don't furnish central air in any but 1, but Hubert has at least one window unit in all of them.
I did a super fast Sunday dinner yesterday. Grilled a ham steak, grilled pinapple, green beans in a foil packet and twiced baked potaotes wrapped in foil also. 30min on a medium hot gas grill and we were eating. Cleanup was a snap too. Plus, there is enough for either tonight or tomorrow night.
Have a great day,
Hugs,
Good Morning Everyone!
Is it Monday already? Did we have a weekend? Where did it go? I had a fantastic weekend but it wen by too quickly and here it is Monday again! Saturday was Gage's party. IT was really nice. It was mostly all of his relatives. So it was meet the family BIG TIme. We got home about 10 Sat night. Sunday we spent a long time at Walmart as I got school supplies for the needy kids that I always donate to. It is fun to do.
Today it is just work and home. Once again the hot weather returns.
Crystal, I am so sorry that you are sick. I hope you get better soon!

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
I am back to work after a long weekend. Friday, we wound up making a quick trip to Madison and Trader Joe's. Got some of my favorites that I can't get anywhere else. Then, Friday afternoon I picked up my Brazilians, Pedro and Karl, and also Riley. We went home and had a bon fire.
Saturday the older kids went to Noah's Ark and Riley had our friends Jack and Billy come over and we made SNOWBALLS in July. It was SO much fun. 2 boxes of corn starch to one can of shaving cream. Mixes up into a powdery substance that can be molded. We stacked 'em up and threw them at each other. After we used up 4 batches, we had a water fight, then the slip n slide, then another bon fire after dinner.
Yesterday, the boys helped me to finally get my porch furniture done and it is beautiful!
Pedro and Karl are very nice young men. I am very surprised at all the things that are new to them......peanut butter, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, donuts, yogurt pops, English muffins.......it is really fun to see them explore new things.
Work for today then home to grill for dinner.
Everyone have a wonderful day!
All drink is water...nothing else. I mean I drink Green tea and Crystal Light too. But I drink probably some where around 2 12oz cups of water at every meal (its something I do...its one band rule I break)....plus 32oz during my workouts. And fill and refill my 32oz jug at work. Then of course what I drink after dinner till bed time...
I drink constantly. I am always thirsty...hahaha.
But never drink never drink any calories. Milk, soda, juice, coffee, protein, anything else
Hi Y'all,
I had a regular Monday. Volunteer work, therapy session and now making dinner. I'd get more done, if everything didnt have a couple hours in between.
The job I didnt want called me today and wants to do a second interview. Ugh! The job I hoped I would get sent me an e-mail and said thanks but we hired someone younger. LOL. Not really, but when I saw the line of folks interviewing for the job, I felt like a grandma! Oh wait...I am a grandma. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
I know God has something for me.....wonder what it is???????
The heat is stifling. I am not complaining...just sayin'
Enjoy the rest of this hotsy totsy day.
Hugs,
Sharon
