Tuesday Roll Call
Hello everyone
Well I had to go after work and take Chris to the urgent care. Something I didn't mention before...not because I was embarassed but because it was a non-issue. Chris has MS...and he has no symptoms normally. But with him being sick and spiking a fever his MS is rearing its ugly head. He was at his parent's house for the day because he was having trouble with his right leg. So I went and picked him up. He seemed fine...we sat for about an hour and he got his antibiotics. By then his Motrin was starting to wear off and I could tell, he was walking funny (I had Ibuprofen in my purse...he took that). We went to pick up the RX and pick up some food. I stayed with him until 10pm. He then asked me if he scared me off. I said..."no, you forget I had medical training and I took care of people part time for years...if you want to scare me off than you will have to cheat on me, lie to me, or treat me like crap. But this won't scare me off" By time I left the food and the Motrin did its job and he was fine again. He's not going to work again.
I here I am worried that if I gain weight I might scare him off and he is worried that if his MS symptoms show he might scare me off...I guess we both have to learn that we will stick by each other regardless.
Work was just as busy as I thought it would be. Not only was it a Monday...but I had Friday's work to do and I am back up for one of the girls that is out this week. So I have some of her her work to do. So I was non-stop. The day just flew by...
Today I have work and then I will go over to Chris's and make sure he's doing ok and keep him company...make him dinner. I am not picking anything up again. I have a planned meal today. I will make oven fried chicken (I make it with yogurt instead of egg, it gives it a different taste) tomato soup and corn on the cob.
Well I got to go...I am going into to work early...more OT. See you all later. Have a good day...stay cool.
Good Morning,
As soon as I post this, I am heading outside with my coffee to the front porch. My favorite place first thing in the morning.
My Dr. visit yesterday went great. My 3 month labs were all good. I hope Dr. Guskie will think so too.
Have no idea what supper will be tonight. Hubert had spaggetti last night, I had meatballs with sauce.I also may make chicken of some kind.
Crystal, I am glad that you and Chris have overcame your worries about being scared off. You both sound like keepers. MS can be scary, but not if you understand it. Being deaf in one ear, I sometimes come across as a snob, since I can't hear someone on my right side. Also, because I can't hear so well, my speaking voice has some problems too. I am sure, that scared some people off when we were younger. Now my thoughts are, "Thats your problem, not mine".
Dawn, I am glad your weekend went well.
Happy Anniversary Sharon.
What is Randy up to?
Connie, you and Kay always have great things to do. Your weekend sounds like it was great.
Nancy, I can agree with you. Rainy Mondays suck, but better Monday then Saturday or Sunday.
I read in yesterdays paper that the average temp. for the month of June, for the entire state of Illinois was 71.5. Not typical for June. Maybe that is the reason I haven't been swimming yet. The water is still cold on the bottom.
Hugs,
Good Morning Everyone!
It is a hot steamy morning today and it sounds like it will be hot all week. For those of you who love the heat -- enjoy! I know I will be staying inside in the cool ac.
Crystal, I hope Chris is going to get better soon. I am so sorry that his illness flared up his MS. I know that they have come a long ways in controlling MS but when it flares, oh my! I feel for him.
Today is nothing special. After work I want to stop by Pet Smart if it is not raining and see if they got some cat nip in. We put a huge pot on the catio and it has been totally destroyed so it needs to be replaced. Also I need to get a pedicure this week. Mine is looking pretty bad and I have Gage's party on Saturday. It has been a month so what can I expect.
I hope everyone has a great day. Stay cool. Drink lots of fluids and enjoy your day!
Cat Lady
Hey everyone,
I had gastric bypass WLS two years ago and Im looking for a support group in the Rockford IL area. Im maintaining my weight but its getting harder because Ive been noticing that I cat fit more into my pouch. I knew this day would come but now that its here I feel like my safety net has collapsed out from under me and would like to join a group to be able to get tips and just be able to talk with people who have gone threw what Ive been threw and get some advice from ppl who are further out than I am.
welcome, welcome, welcome!!!!
SO glad to "see" you here! We used to have a support group here in Rockford, but it kind of petered out. Connie has talked of starting it up again, but I haven't heard any more about it.
In the mean time, come here each day and get to know us! We are a supportive group that shares our lives each day (usually). We are planning a get together here soon and it would be good to actually meet you!
Welcome!
We really do want another Rockford support group. We are going on vacation soon but thinking to start the group again in August. We are thinking about either the first or fourth Monday at 5 or 5:30. Will that work for you? Let me know here or at 815-222-7994.

My post yesterday got hijacked. Let's see who OH has me as today.
Ended up back in advanced topics in Python but did not feel like writing the program. Inheritances some special functions and overides. It is nice the language has these but often to me it ends up being I aint goin there no more no way no how. It is nice to have the expressions but just say it.
Reading or watching lectures today or a mix of both.
Good afternoon Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
Working today then home for pot roast from the crock pot. Not sure what to serve with it, will probably stop to see what fresh veggies I can find. Crystal, what do you roll the chicken in after the yogurt?
I know nothing about MS, but I do know that would not be enough to bother you. I, like Lisa, am deaf in my right ear and have similar experiences with people thinking I am ignoring them.
Not too much going on in my corner. Wishing the rain would end so I can get the furniture painted.
Gotta go, lunch is over!
Everyone have a fantastic day!
Hi folks!
Several of you mentioned being hard of hearing. Since I had the emergency surgery my voice isn't quite the same as it was before and apparently I talk very softly, which I'm not aware of. So if you can't hear me when we are together, feel free to tell me.
We are certainly ready to get the support group going. We are going to meet at the Bookworm Cafe in the East State St. public library (come in side door). The owner will have protein shakes for us as well as low sugar and gluten free foods and the ability to serve us a tuna, chicken, turkey or egg salad made on the spot with the additives we each want (mayo, mustard, celery, onions, avocado, tomato, relish, etc or not). Good protein offerings so you can eat dinner there or not, as you wish. But for those who have to come straight from work, there will be healthy choices. In fact, this cafe is open M-F 9am to 8pm and Sat 9-6 and takes special orders! There is a "living room" sort of set up which will be saved for us--couches and straight chairs.
I bought a fitbit today so I'm kicking up my activity, I promise. I'd love to learn how to knit walking on a treadmill and I'm going to give it a try.
Hope you had a great day!
Connie
