Thursday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I have to dress up for work today because people from corporate will be in the office.  I hate having to wear dress clothes.  But I guess its not so bad considering that I only have to do it once in a great while here.  Otherwise, it's jeans every day!!!

Yesterday was a busy day during and after work.  I tried going to a new grocery store.  It's much closer to my house than Whole Foods and though its not a big deal to drive there now...I need options for the Winter.  So I read that this place has lots of organic fruits and veggies.  And they did.  They had a huge produce department.  I was thinking must have lots of organic meat...I couldn't find any.  They do have a nice selection of organic throughout the store.  And the most wonderful, if not dangerous bakery department...I have never seen such a huge pastry display case. I think I will be coming back. So I went there and Walmart and Platos Closet...for more tops.

Today I will have work and working out...and that's it for me.

I wanted to ask you guys a question...for Father's Day.  Do buy Chris a small gift?  Do something for him?  I'm not sure.  I was thinking how I would feel if he did the same for me and I wouldn't think it was weird.  I was just wondering what the protcol is here.

Well I got to start getting ready...see ya later...bye

Father's Day!  Hard for me to think about that as a single person after 33 years of marriage.  It is also my youngest 26th birthday.  Being selfish if I were single and dating someone where the exact nature was yet to be determined I think I would enjoy a new Taz t-shirt, a lunch and a wish that all Father's and daughters might find a way to clean up their lives and love each other through anything that could not be cleaned up.

Mostly the wish though!

Surgeon visit went well yesterday.  Everything is still healing nicely though a big cough or sneeze will give me a moments pause and getting up in the mornings is still accompanied by a bit of discomfort.

My spaceship turns and accelerates in the direction it is turned and has fire and noise.  I will add friction today though there is no friction in space.  That was what the profs decided to do instead of finely tuned thrusters on the sides.  I remember the announcers for the space program teaching us about yaw but not the other word.  I will move on to rocks and maybe missiles today.

Randy

So you have been forgiven?

Good Morning,

I am hoping to finish my lighthouse project today. It will hinge on if it rains or not.

We did go out to dinner last night. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I shared Hubert's corn beef and cabbage. I ate 1 slice of meat, some  carrots and celery and that was it. No problem with the corned meat.

I finally have gotten the gel nails off. They are nice to have, for special occasions, but I won't spend the money to keep them all the time.

Crystal, Will Chris be spending the day with his kids? If yes, then I would not do anything but a card. But,you might also do a little gift to share with his kids. Maybe a yard game or a gift card for ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. It will show you care about his family. If he isn't going to see them, then take him out for breakfast and give him a rose or something small. It will show you are romantic.

Connie, i am so glad you are doing good after your surgery. Just take it easy.

Sharon, watching the news. Hopefully everything will work out for your husband.

Dawn and Nancy, You do have to stay upbeat about your jobs.

Randy, I know you are enjoying all the time you spend with your computer.

Hugs,

Lisa

Hi Crystal and Friends,

I have been so busy today. I got up early and did some volunteer work with the church and then got a call that my daughter and her husband closed on their house and would I like to come over and see the place? So I drove to Bolingbrook and then came home and started dinner. Sloppy Joes w/salad. Very lazy. But my hubby requested it so....who am I to argue?

I froze this am and now the sun is out and it's finally warming up. I feel for all our neighbors with pools. All the time and energy of opening them and no use thus far. The summer is young...hopefully it will warm up soon.

My husband's job got a reprieve until June 21. Then who knows? He said state auditors were there this morning early. He is so happy. He feels strongly that there has been mismanagement and the patients are suffering. He doesnt understand why Cook County runs in the black but this hospital is so in debt. I guess we will see. He was interviewed on Channel 9 but they used only a portion of the interview. He said nothing provocative, just that the hospital is needed for the community.

Crystal where is the store you were talking about? Is it is Joliet?

Crystal, I think a card and Lisa's idea ( gift card for icecream ) is an excellent idea.

I got on the scale today and lost another 10 lbs. I am over the moon. I have been eating a lot of salads lately. I love when the scale moves south 10 lbs. My arms are really looking gross but I dont care. I'll take it! I am now 30 lbs lighter than my driver license says I am......Yes!!!!!

Hugs and smooches,

Sharon

Good evening Everyone

I m just now getting to the computer.  I hope everyone has had a good day.  I know I have.  I have decoded  that i have nothing to lose if I stand up for myself at work and I might even gain some peace.  If they are going to harass me and provide a hostile environment then I will fight back.  At least I am not taking it sitting down and I have company as well.

Crystal, I am glad everything is going ok.  I would keep the Father's day gift for Chris small.  As others suggested a game for the family or ice cream.   I do not give Rick father's days gifts but may pick something up for him on occasions for a "just because"

Connie, i am so glad your eye surgery went well.  I would be very nervous to have that type of surgery and be very relieved that there was no bruising and that the vision was not affected..

Randy. I am so glad that things are healing nicely for you.  Much better than your last surgery!

Lisa, I cant wait to see pictures of your light house!  I did something similar and made a soldier.

Sharon, congrats on the 10 lbs!    That is great!  Also, it is great to hear about your daughter and your relationship being so much better.  That is a true blessing.

Nancy, the eye surgery was kind of a necessity since my eyelids were affecting my vision. I am amazed that there was so little bruising and that I feel comfortable being out in public already! I certainly wouldn't consider plastic surgery just to look younger. (that ship has sailed)  I did have to get up some courage to do this but I'm glad it's over and that it went well. I do love the UW in Madison. They have been good to me!

Connie,

My dear friend just had this surgery a few months ago at a fancy schmancy plastic surgeon's office in Water Tower Place in Chicago. I took her and was horrified by the way she looked afterwards. I knew then, i could never have plastic surgery on my face because she looked so bad. I am amazed you have no bruising. I am soooo happy for you.

My mom had droopy eyelids and also had the surgery as did many of her friends. She loved to read and cherished the ability to see again. Enjoy!!!!!!

Hugs,

Sharon
