Wednesday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I am just sitting here relaxing a bit. What a busy couple of days. I am working overtime at work. I have the Union Wage changes to do and that always means overtime for me. I love to have the extra money on my check.
Yesterday I had a strange thing happen. Maybe even kind of creepy. I was at work when I got a phone call and the person said they were calling about Gregory. I assumed they were talking about a customer. So I said what customer are calling about? And they said no we are calling about your family Gregory Magouirk. I was a little shocked...I said, oh my uncle...what about him. The caller said he was in the hospital and they needed some information. I said to the guy...I don't know my uncle. I haven't seen or talked to him since I was a little kid. I don't know where he lives, his birthday...I don't even know his middle name...so I'm don't know how much help I could be" The conversation ended soon after that. But not before I asked the guy how he found where I worked and my number??? Because no one in my family knows where I live or where I work (I like it that way). He said he is an investigator for the hospital?? So I talked to Chris because he has worked in hospitals for years...and he said he has never heard of hospitals hiring investigators. So I don't know who that guy was...Chris is all worried about me now. My uncle just like the rest of my family is no good. The last I heard he was a homeless meth addict. I don't need that around me!!!
Today I am working and after work I am running some errands and doing groceries. That is it for me. How about you guys?
Well I got to get off my rump...have a wonderful day...see ya later...bye
Good Morning Everyone!
Randy, I am envying your life in the city. There is so much to do! How exciting!
I will be posting hit and miss here.
I finally got fed up with my domineering supervisor and all her methods of handling everything. Now she is retaliating against me which is against our office policies but I cannot prove it. Lately she has been on all of us for using the internet so no more posting from wor****il this blows over. I even resorted to rounding up a lynch mob yesterday to help provide proof of her lack of skills. That was requested of me. I am not liking it but this has to stop. Everyone is miserable and there is no call for it. And if I end up going down it will not be without a fight.
Not much else is happening in my world. That is enough drama.
My ortho doctor said my pain was not my hip but still my back. The back doctor says I am fine. Whoopee. So I just have to live with it.
Everyone have a great day!
Cat Lady
Happy Wednesday,
Randy, I agree, the city is agreeing with you.
Nancy, Can you go above your boss? I know it is very frustrating when you can't work in a good place.
Crystal, I too would be a bit concerned if someone called me about a family member. Especially if I was called at work. Did he ever say what hospital this person was in? Maybe a call to the police could help. Whatever, stay safe.
I started a new project yesterday. I had seen it on Pinterest )sp), It was a lighthouse made out of terra cotta flower pots. I had the largest pot, it had a small crack on the bottom, so I wasn't going to use it for flowers anymore, but it was still usable, for something. Anyway, you stack them up, paint them, and put a solar light on top. I will show a picture as soon as it is done.
This morning I will vac the house, and clean the rec room and office. I am not sure if we are going out tonight or not.
Is it to early to think about the holidays? In the Trib a couple of weeks ago, there was an artical about the Hoosierville train in North Judson, In. They have an engineer program that allows you to really drive the train, I think my guys would enjoy it. Again, it is something that would not have to be stored away.
Breakfast is calling me. Something with a lot of protein. Maybe a shake?
Huggers,
I am about to run out to go to the pool.
Today will be a good day :) I have a mentoring meeting with my pastor at 1p then i am as free as a bird.
I am starting to really miss working........maybe this therapy thing is working?????
My husband got a call last night that the state is going to keep his hospital open on the condition the the board members walk off the job immediately (that will never happen). We will see. it was all over the news last night that the hospital is closing today.
Have a great day all!
Hugs,
Sharon
Good morning Randy and the rest of Illinois!
I have been MIA a bit. Yesterday we took Helena, our "adopted" daughter from Spain into O'Hare so she could go home after being in the USA for a year. Unfortunately, her host "family" treated her horribly. We did not find out until at least March and not until May did she start actually staying with us on weekends and days off. The host mom only called once in all that time to check with me to see if it was ok. CRAZY. I thank God that she found us so that her last month could be happy. She is a beautiful, kind, smart and sweet girl, so I don't know why the family did not like her.
She was very sad to be leaving us and sad that we had such a short time together. It was kind of funny because she said it was "kind of annoying" listening to all the people at the airport speaking Spanish after having to speak English for a year. I would imagine that it would be a bit of a "brain drain".
I got word today at about 8 am our time that she is home and safe. That made it about 3 PM her time. She will be very jet-lagged as we left our house yesterday at 9:30 AM!
Besides all that, just working on the porch and trying to get back to exercising more. I got a FitBit (not the full version) and it really shows how lazy I have become. Adding steps each day!
Glad to hear all went good for Connie, and Nancy----I hear ya about hostile work environments!
Sharon, I hope all works out well for you and hubby.
Gotta get back at it!
Everyone have a splendid day!
Hi folks!
I actually went out this morning to knitting and didn't scare my friends. I am shocked that I feel and look relatively OK so soon after the surgery. My face is red around the eyes but not nearly as bad as I expected. Today I started the warm packs and they feel good. There is some amount of itching around the eyes, but again, not unbearable. My vision is totally fine so I can read and knit. I expected to be black and blue forehead to chin but that doesn't seem to be happening. What a doc! I'm sold on UW even though I was before!
We hadn't planned much of anything for June figuring I'd not be able to do anything and I feel almost back to normal already!
Hope your week is going well!
Connie
