Sunday Roll Call
Good Morning Dear Ones,
We are leaving after church for New York today. It will be nice to get away for a few days.
I am going to bring my bathing suit and go for a swim every morning in the hotel pool. I know we will be doing some walking as well so I pray, I dont gain. Since the surgery I haven't gained and I am hoping to keep going in the right direction. Last night my husband made himself in charge of dinner and he went and got carry-out at McDonalds. It used to be one of my faves....now not so much. I had 2 bites of a semi-bun-less big mac and a few fries and I was so done, I just dumped it in the garbage. I felt like I ate a thanksgiving dinner. I thank God everyday for that little pouch. In the old days, I would have eaten that entire meal and polished it off with 2 fried apple pies and a large sugary drink. I have not drank a pop in 2 years. I was an addict and used to drink 2-3 cans of Coke every day.
It looks like it is going to be gorgeous out today. Please enjoy this day that the Lord has given us.
Hugs,
Sharon
Good Morning,
I am really starting to get bored with not working. Hopefully, I get back to work by September, If not, i may have to find another job. I am not sure if I am ready for retirement.
No plans for today. Hubert is working, then he will come home and nap.I am planning on cooking today. Not sure what as of yet.
Tomorrow afternoon, I will be heading down to Bloomington.
Sharon, have a great trip.
Shannon, hope you hear about the house.
Hugs,
Sharon- I can top that soda addiction. before I stopped drinking soda I would stop off on my way to work and by a large 64oz drink that and start with cans till the end of the work day. Then on my way I would get another 64oz and some times that did not hold me till bed time and I would be drinking cans till bed time!!! I think I drank about a gallon or more a day.
And I was a fast food fiend!!! Living by myself I started to eat a lot of food from fast food places. I think between lunch and dinner I ate about 5-8 meals a week at fast food restaurants. And like you I always super sized everything!!!
I now stay away from both fast food and soda....I think they were both addictions or at least strong behavior patterns and I'm afraid that if I do it even one time I will slip right back into old habits!!!
Hello everyone
My Saturday was a bust. I got a migraine!!! I have to tell you about my migraine meds. What happens to me is I will be doing really good on my pain meds and then all of the sudden with no warning they just stop working. There is no gradual weakening...nope I will take it one day and it won't work or it takes hours. That happened yesterday. So I will need new migraine meds. it's my own fault I pushed myself working out. After close to 25 years of suffering from migraines you kind of learn to function with them. I finished getting ready. Went out and got done what I wanted to do. Cleaned my house. Then laid down and relaxed. It took about 5 hours and 2 doses for my migraine to go away.
Nancy what is the name of the medicine you take again? Maybe I will give yours a try.
On the bright side Chris and I talked on the phone for over 3 hours last night. He definetly gets my humor. We joked about funerals...I told him that when I die I want it to be a party. With a disco ball and a bubble machine and a bouncy castle...then I want them to play "another one bite the dust"...then I said I might even have clowns with animal balloons...he was laughing...he told me I was hysterical. He said where do you come up with these things??? I said, I don;t know they pop in my head. Then I said seriously I was going to start a new trend of fun funerals. Like playing bingo and eating popcorn. So I think we talked about my up coming funeral for about an hour...hahaha!!! The topic came up because I read where you turn your ashes into a tree. And I said that sounds like a good idea...until a dog comes along and pees on me!!! Or my luck years from now they will cut me down and turn me into an Ikea coffee table!!! And he was laughing and saying he likes how my mind works!!! So from there I started talking about my funeral!!! Now I think most guys would think this is weird but he worked in an ER for 12 years so he has seen everything. I even said...I know I am kind of weird...and he said "I don't think your weird at all"...and I said "ummm...I just got done talking about dying and becoming a coffee table"...and he said "I've heard worse"....hahaha!!!
Today my day is full. I am going out for breakfast and then I am going to Chris's house and tearing his engine apart!!! Now that sounds like fun. You know I had to find an outfit that is cute but something I can get all greasey!!! I am not going to just show up in sweat pants and a tshirt!!! I will look messy chic!!!! Its a new style I made up!!!
Anyway I have to finish getting ready...see you guys later....bye.
Crystal
I take med to prevent migraines the same one that you do. For the breakthrough migraines I have Relpax which is (eletriptan HBr). It has really worked for me. I can take one pill and if that does not work a half hour later take a second pill. I rarely get to the second pill. I think I have only had to take the second pill about 2 times.

Another way we are alike. I always thought I would start with, "Dust in the Wind", then move to "Another One Bites the Dust". I alos want a party and NO VEIWING. That creeps me out. I want people to remember me how they remember me. Not that lifeless husk. For that is what it will be.......I won't be there anymore.
When our very good friend died a couple of years ago the service was awesome. It began to look very somber, but as his nephew escorted the casket into the church, "Spirit in the Sky" broke out. At the end, they played, "Lean on Me" and everyone in the church held hands or put our arms around each other. All sorts of other non-traditional music was played. It was the most moving funeral I have ever attended.
Sharon, pre surgery I could down at leas 1 1/2 to 2 big (2 liter) bottles a day. Now I can barely drink a can. My doctor did allow carbonated beverages after 6 months as long as I allow them to go flat. I was also addicted to fast food and I rarely eat it any more. I got a wrap from McDonalds a couple of weeks ago and could not fini****

Goo afternoon people!
Sharon, I hope you have a fabulous trip! I cannot wait to hear about it. Take pictures! Congratulation to your son on a job well done! Travel safe!
Lisa, I am sorry you are getting bored being home. I loved it when I was out of work for a year. I would love to trade places but still have the $$$$ coming in.
Shannon, a new home? How exciting! I hope everything comes through. What city is it in? What is it like? I hope you get it!
Crystal, I am so sorry that your migraine held you back yesterday. Sometimes I wonder if it is natures way of telling you to SLOW down occasionally. I hope you have a blast today tearing apart a car! That sounds like fun. You will be the cutest grease monkey ever! Have a great time. It sounds like the two of you have a lot in common even a weird sense of humor. I love your ideas for a funeral! That sounds like a great time and much better than the stiff, somber affairs that many are. I like celebrations of life funerals. They are uplifting and really reflect the wonderful things about the deceased.
Chris, I hope you made it home safely and are relaxing today.
Randy, how are your classes coming? I recently have been reading articles of people that try to break into systems to help companies, especially banks build up better hack proof systems. That is an interesting concept. Do any members of your group get to do that?
I hope everyone has a great day! I am getting ready to mozie on down to the store.
