Wednesday Roll Call

Wednesday again???  Nothing burning when getting up except the one incision with the staples this morning.  Need to finish a quiz and go for a walk.  If I do well on the quiz I can move on to more lectures.  I had about four hours yesterday with no mojo for anything.  After my last 13 years dealing with the aftermath of an infection if I get one this time someone will pay and not my wonderful surgeon whose staff needs a good reaming.

Blue for the blue skies that we are having even in Galena. Been here since yesterday and loving it with walking and window shopping. Spent part of the morning at a church service we were invited to by our restaurant owner last night, breakfast and then a walk on a local nature trail. I saw birds that I have never seen before. Will still be here until Saturday morning soaking in the history, shopping, walking and sharing our meals. 9 Civil War generals came out of Galena . . . IL is steeped in history. Have a room with a fireplace in it (yes we turn it on even with the AC - we are paying for it), bedroom and bath. Love the DeSoto House. Need to have the Blue Cheese soup for a snack before we leave. All of the shop owners here will "talk up" all of the other owners establishments. You will not find that in the Dells. The chamber of commerce here "plays well in the sandbox together" here.

Connie, there is a yarn shop here . . . It is just south of the DeSoto House on the same side of the street.

Relaxing? TEEHEE - not with the amount of walking we do when we get here. We walked almost 7 miles yesterday - not all at one time as we had breaks in between to get the "Dogs" to stop barking.
