Monday Roll Call
Yesterday was diverted because I had forgotten I had to do peer reviews for five classmates spaceship programs. That and Cheryl caught a fuzzy slipper in the elevator gate, fell, and kept wanting to go to the ER for her ankle. Alternate hot and cold was my alternative. She seems to be moving pretty good this morning but keeps saying ow. We both do that a lot. So yesterdays task will hopefully get done today. And hopefully Cheryl will not need to see our PCP today.
Hello everyone
I had a good day. We spent another day messing with the car. We are actually getting it put back together again. Chris has me do the work and just tells me what has to be done. So basically I am putting an engine back together again. We got the heads on and the rods and the lifters back in place, we also cleaned stripped off the old gaskets and cleaned everything then put new ones on. We cleaned and back in place manifold. We still have to put the alternator and caburator back in and the belts. I had fun...some people might think its not fun...but I thought so. Oh and I have so much guck under my nails that I can't get them clean anymore...hahaha!!!
I also finally told Chris about my band. He could care less. I said now you understand why I eat so slowly and don't drink during meals.
Today I will have to get into work extra, extra early because I have to try to balance that payment from Exxon. Then I have my reports to do and I still have my special project to do. So I have my work cut out for me. But that will just make the day go by really quickly.
Well got to get going, have a wonderful day, see ya later...bye.
More than likely its just a sprain. If she can walk on it, it's probably just a sprain. All they will do is splint it and possibly give her pain meds (after xrays). But I have had broken bones before and I feel like you know when a bone is boken...you can't do anything with it. Unless a knee or other joint is involved then soft tissue damage can be horrible...ACLs and such. Then go to an ortho straight away.
That said she should stay off it and elevate it and take an anti-inflamitory and ice it if it's swollen. Hope she feels better soon.
Monday....Monday............
Hi OH Pals,
Someone reminded me yesterday it's still spring; not summer. So I guess I will take this rainy cooler weather. Actually it has been so nice not to have to use the air. Yesterday, a woman gave me a gift cert at church for a free mani and pedi that had to be used that day. So my hubby and I high-tailed it to Downer's Grove and had pedis together. I giggled because my hubby is so ticklish and he had the entire place laughing with him. We went out for lunch and then walked around Frys. My husband loves that mega electronic place. It bores me to tears, but I love being with him, so I just zipped my lip, tucked that lip in and smiled. I then dragged him to my favorite mega store, Ulta and he stayed in the car while I just gazed at all the hi-priced junk I'd love to splurge on. They are the only people who sell my lipstain. Tarte. It is free of bad stuff and it is divine. I bought myself a new summer color.
I am off to swim and then rush home because Grathell has a forced furlough day. We are going to hang.
Crystal you sound happy and a bit hesitant. I love that! Women always jump in with both feet and sound like they are getting married after the first date. You sound like a mature, smart, woman. I am so happy for your filthy fingernails.
Hugs,
Sharon
Good Morning,
Its a green day today. That's according to NBC Chicago. So, allergies shouldn't be a problem.
Sharon, your friend is right.Summer does not start until the 21st. But, it seems like summer as soon as it warms up and the flowers come out. Just like winter does not officially start until the 21st of Dec.
Randy, Cheryl could of suffered a green stick fracture. While not a full break,it can cause as must pain as if it were.
Connie, you and Kay seem to really be into the cultural things. I would love to be able to attend art shows ect. But, everything is to far for us. We do go to our summer playhouse each summer.
Crystal, I am so happy that you are having a great time with Chris. You sound content.
I finally finished the pillow I was doing compleatly by hand. Picture on FB.
Dawn, your meatballs looked great. The family should of enjoyed them. I did a small roast yesterday, so Morgan can have Beef and Noodles today. Hr favorite Grandma food.
I have to go to the bank today to pay our Real Estate Taxes. If I don't get there today, I willpay them his week. They aren't due until July, but, my mind makes me do things early. I think it is my German and Russian hertitage for order that does it. I know it drives Hubert nuts. He does not understand why.
I am sure I will get into something else today also.
Have a great day,
Hugs,
Good morning Randy and the rest of Illinois!
I had a nice, productive weekend. Our town had its annual BIG trash pick up where you can put just about anything out on the curb and the will come by and take it away. I spent a lot of time Thursday night and Friday afternoon dragging unwanted stuff to the curb. My garage now looks better! I got some planting projects finished too.
On Thursday night, I came in the house and Todd asked if I thought the kitchen was hazy. I said that it was and I thought I smelled smoke. Opened the basement door and OMG!!!!!! Smoke coming from the dryer! We got the clothes out, turned it off and aired everything out. Yesterday, he took it apart and found that built up dryer lint had either caught fire or nearly so. The housing around the blower is melted and black! I thanked God many times that we were home to catch it in time. If we had not been home, we may not have had a home. Now, we need a new dryer but at least we are safe and still have a place to sleep.
I also finished my chandelier project. My mother-in-law had given me an old brass chandelier that I had no idea how to use. Pinterest to the rescue! I took it apart, spray-painted it an oil rubbed bronze and glued inexpensive solar lights into the sockets! I now have a lovely garden piece! I will have to take a pic and post on Facebook.
Randy----I hope Cheryl feels better soon. Ankle issues are no fun.
I'd better get back to it.
Everyone have a spectacular day!
Were you drying a load while out of the house? That is one of my biggest rules (for myself) - no dry cycle while not in the house. I hardly use my dryer as I dry on my line dryers in or out. Dryer fires are one of the # 1 sources of a fire in a home. Dave cleans our lint vents at least once a month. Because my mom died during a fire I am super paranoid of a fire. I was even before that as a child after I saw a movie on the Our Lady of Angels school fire.

Christine- not that I can any more....living in apartments again. But I can't line dry outside anymore. It's one of the no-no's with my allergies. It's too bad though I love to line dry clothes...there's always such a nice freshness to my clothes when I do. I also not supposed to drive with the windows down either. With all of the outdoor items I am allergic to it's a no-no!!!
Hello Everyone!
I have been missing for a few days. I have had some time off and I have totally messed up my schedule. Not sure what time it is or what day it is. I have been having a relaxing time. I really needed it.
Today, Rick and I went and adopted a 7 week old kitten. She is buff and cream colored. The cutest little thing. Not afraid of standing up for herself and has no interest in her brothers or sister. They are Big no no's. So we have this 6 inch munchkin telling off the giant kitties. It is so funny.
/randy. I do hope Cheryl is ok. She might have gotten a stress fracture in her foot. Those hurt like heck and result in a big clunky boot.
Crystal I am so happy that things are going well with Chris. That is so neat. It sounds like you have a good relationship!
Sharon, I got a kick out of your pedicure session. How much fun! I can see trying to drag Rick in for a pedicure. They would be laughing so hard we would be kicked out.
Lisa it sounds like you are enjoying yourself. Have fun with Morgan there and enjoy your time together.
Dawn, I am so thankful that you were home and caught your dryer in time. I too am one that does not like to leave with appliances running. My aunt had a dishwasher catch on fire. I get really nervous about these things. I may leave with the washer on but that is about it. It took years for me to feel comfortable about leaving a crockpot on while I was gone.
Everyone have a great day and evening.
