Tuesday Roll Call
Hello everyone
Oh I am so enjoying this weather. I am wearing my Summer clothes and my toes are mint green (because a little birdy said that is the in color this season...hahaha). I am in love with the sun!!!!
Yesterday was a big bummer. As you know Monday is my busy day. Well it was also the beginning of a new month for us. But the IT department took their sweet time unlocking May. So I couldn't even start my Monday work till 3pm!!! Because you can't enter May cash in the month of April!!! So needless to say even though I stayed late I still have a ton of work to catch up on today. So I got in yesterday and did my normal work and was ready to do my Monday work at 11am...so today will be my busy day and I'm going in extra early today.
Well one of the reasons I am going in extra early today is because I really can't stay late. I have a hair appointment. I have had a hair cut since February!!! But when you have long hair you can get away with that. But my ends are getting really scraggly.
Dawn Iam sorry about the death of your family member. Like you said though at least he is at peace and no longer in pain.
Randy- I hope you are doing well in your recovery. Hope to see you on here soon.
Well I need to get ready and zoom off to work. Enjoy your day all....bye
Good Morning Everyone!
It is another beautiful day today! Like Crystal, I too pulled out my summer clothes to celebrate the weather. My toes are not done so I am hiding them in shoes where they do not show! A pedicure is on my list of things to get done.
Last night I was beside myself. Today is the last day I can renew the sticker for my license plates. I thought I had the renewal notice from the secretary of state but that turned out to be another document. So I thought, no problem, I will send Rick with my registration papers. But I could not find my registration papers! Either I did not receive them after I bought the car or something has happened to them. I tend to think I never received them because in 40 years I have NEVER not had my car registration papers. I then went online and verified that my car was indeed registered. So I printed out the information and sent Rick in with a blank check. Who knows how much they will charge me for a copy of my registration papers? But I have to have them. I guess I am lucky I have never been stopped by the police since I got this car.
Crystal, I sorry that your work got delayed yesterday. It just goes to show that you should not start a month before it actually begins.
Dawn, I am sorry for your loss. It is always hard to lose a loved one and when it is a "favorite" it is even harder.
My thoughts are with Randy for speedy Healing.
Sharon, congrats on more weight loss! That always brightens up the day.
Lisa, I am glad you got a good report from your surgeon.
Everyone have a great day!
Cat Lady
Nancy- They are weird where I work they start the month according to the week ending date. The week ends according to them on Sundays. This Sunday is May 5th..so this week is officially May. It doesn't matter that it is still April.
As far as the car registration goes...anything to do the government is 100 times harder than it has to be!!!!
Good Morning,
It was nie getting away from the house yesterday, Even just to go to the dr.s office. We also stopped at American Sales and got the pool supplies we need to open the pool. Not that that is going to happen fast. I took my lunch along and ate in the car.
I am free of the drain and staples
This morning I want to pickup the house abit, then go get my nails done. I want these fake nails off. They are starting to look like crap.
Dawn, sorry about the death of a love one.
have a great day and try to get outside.
Hugs,
LISA
Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts about my uncle. I am very frustrated with my FIL (what's new). He always wants to be "in charge" and "the center of attention". So.......instead of allowing a memorial up here for family and friends that are grieving, he intends to put it off until September when they have their annual cookout/party before the brothers' annual fishing trip (only 2 out of 5 left now....). The past few years, this party has had less and less attendees and I think it is his way of MAKING people feel obligated to attend. I don't know it you will remember, but this is the annual party that my monther-in-law ripped into me in front of Liv and all the guests all those years ago. It is also the one that I avoid attending due to what she did. I think I will try very hard to come up with my own way to memorialize my uncle Pat.
So, besides that......thanks for letting me vent.
When I was at the airport the other night, the maintenance guy was telling me that they are hoping to hire a female maintenance person. I am thinking of going to check it out. If the pay is decent, it might be just what I need.........no stress. I can run a vacuum cleaner, clean a toilet, dust, and move wheelchairs. He said it is a very easy job with no deadlines. The benefits are fantastic and there are lots of opportunities for time and a half and double time. Sounds do-able.
Thinking of Randy and hoping he is recovering well. Lisa seems to be recovering excellently!
Not too much else here.
Everyone enjoy the wonderful weather before it turns cool again.
Hi Crystal and All my Cheeky Chippies,
What a glorious day God has made for us. I got out early and went to an aerobics class at the gym and then I spent the rest of the morning running errands. I was actually hot! What a lovely feeling after such a wet cold last few weeks.
I was going to tackle cleaning the grill, but i lost my energy after i sat down to read a chapter of the book I needed to read before tonight's class. I did manage to sit in the sun and read and just enjoy the sun. There aint nothing like sitting in the sun and getting my Vit D.
Wow Dawn, I can sure relate to mother in law issues. My father in law has always been so sweet to me, but my husband's mom always makes me feel like I am not good enough. I dont know if I ever mentioned it but my hubby is african american. His mother sobbed when he told her he was marrying me. She asked him why he could not find a nice black woman to marry instead. It didnt help that he had her on speaker and I heard not only the question, but the tone of her voice and the ranting. She is very nice to me when we are alone, but as soon as another family member is around, she gives me a run for my money and is barely civil. I have been the brunt of her endless jokes and when I was fatter she always made remarks about my weight. The past year I have spent less and less time over there and I feel awful since my father in law is sick, butthe last time I was there she didnt greet me, say hello or make me feel remotely welcome. It is hard. Dawn, I feel your pain.
Nancy, I am always careful to put important documents in a good place, but when it comes time to utilize them, I can never find them. I have files and everything in my cabinet, but I rarely can find anything. I think I have a form of ADD.
Crystal, my toes are milk white. Since I am an old bag, white has been a preference for sometime. Maybe I'll do something wild when I am more brown from the sun.
Lisa, I would love to have a pool, but would be so ashamed to go in with all this hanging skin. I guess the neighbors be damned! When can I come over and go for a dip with you? LOL
Hugs to all especially Randy!
Sharon
Sharon- why go with white??? They are your toes...big deal. Go colorful and bright...live a little!!! The last 2 days I have gotten a lot of compliments on the color. Just when I got my hair cut the stylist said she loved the color. It's nothing neon...it's a very pretty pastel mint green. So I insist you get a pretty mint green next time. I swear it will look great and not tacky and people will make compliments about how cute your toes look.
I have a funny story about my toes ...when 2 girls at work said something about them today I put my feet on my desk and said "you know the color is reminding me of mint ice cream and making me hungry for ice cream"...and my boss came by and said..."are we relaxing today" and I told her I was looking at my toes and thinking of ice cream and she looked at me weird and said "Crystal you are an odd duck"...hahaha!!!! True story (by the way she wasn't mad...she was kidding...she's not like that)
Hello friends!
We are home from three days at Lake Geneva. We shopped a bit, knit a lot, read books and did crossword puzzles together. (Some of those are just weird!) It was fun to try a new place and just be quiet for a few days. Of course, my life is always quiet compared to most of you,but this was a different quiet. We are at some nice new places and by splitting appetizers we were able to eat moderately and enjoy new food items.
We also bought a couple of blouses which were quite different from what we see at home. Then we went by a shop in Beloit where I know the employee and had a shirt made for our trips (supposed to bring a shirt with hometown) and I had one made that said St. Louis, Carbondale, Rockford. On a shirt I already had it only cost $4. What a deal! I might have a knitting one made. I have tons of black shirts and could design something else.
Have you all are doing well!
Connie
