Friday Roll Call
Hello everyone
It's Friday!!! Yeah!!! And I am sooo sore. I am supposed to do this workout 3 more times before I get a rest day....ugh!!!! This is a killer
I have more and more overtime today. I think I will finish the week with about 52 hours (12 hours...depending on what I work today). Then I will have some errands to run. And I am going to Chipotle. I will have to do some homework on the ingredients of Chipotle's marinade...make sure it's wheat free. But I am doing this slowly.
I did go to Jewel yesterday after work and they have a nice selection of gluten free I bought bread crumbs, flour and pasta...items I use once in awhile but thought good to hand to cook with (all gluten free). But as I buy I am getting rid of the "regular" items. But I am going to hit my local Fruitful Yield to see if they have gluten free cottage cheese, cream cheese and soups I use for crockpot cooking. This is all I really need in the now. I will buy as I need.
I did talk to the nurse yesterday and I now understand the allergy tests. She told me how to read the test. And I got the second part of the allergy test...the food. I decided I am going to pick out the items I am most allergic to and focus on those and see if there is any improvement in my sinuses. It turns out I am most allergic to ragweed and some fungus that grown on leaves and trees and WHEAT!!! Actually wheat was my #1 allergy??? I was in the high end of the moderate range!!! I just don't get it...I never would have guessed it. But the eggs are in the slight range...so I am not going to worry about those right now. So I am going to go wheat free....and see if I improve. To help with the other allergens I am going to to buy a air purifier. I was always a big person that said use plants instead. But I am caving and buying a purifier...also no more driving with the windows down ( I read one of things you can do for outdoor allergies).
I also wanted to mention that I still did not do my taxes....Yep...I waited till the last minute. I am true to form. It's good to know that I am still me!!! Hahahah!!!! I don't have a lot of plan this weekend so I will have to sit down and get them done.
So what are your today????
Well I got to get going...have a great Friday...bye
Good Morning Everyone!
It's Friday! We have made it through another week. A belated Happy Birthday to Lisa who was out birthday girl yesterday. And she thought that she could hide that from us.
Crystal, I am with you. I have not gotten my taxes done either. This is the latest that I have been. I hope I am not still doing them Monday and trying to get them postmarked. I wondered how people could put them off. Now I know!
I also have to go spend 2 hours getting an iron transfusion this weekend as I did not go last night. I was just too tired to go. I spent and hour waiting at my dentist for an appointment and by the time I was done, I just did not want to go out again.
Not much else is happening with me. I know what I will be doing this weekend. So no fun for me.
Everyone have a great day!
Cat Lady
Crystal,
The wheat grown today is poison to our bodies. Wheat is a billion dollar industry. To increase the crop yields and thus profits, farmers have hybridized wheat to make it sturdy enough to withstand the the most extreme weather/pest conditions. As a result it has become not just indestructible in the field but also nearly as indestructible in our bodies. In other words, it is very difficult for our bodies to digest and extract the nutrients. Think about it; if wheat can withstand a hail storm and bug infestations what chance has your body got, to break it down. The wheat today causes inflammation (cancer causing) gas, bloating, water retention and fatigue. What it does to our livers is awful.
It is not easy to go wheat free. It is in so many prepared foods these days. But I try very hard to stay away from it 11 months out of the year. I cheat at Christmas time when I bake. I also have a hard time passing up breaded fish and chicken when we go out.
I am not allergic to wheat so I eat only wheat in it's sprouted form when I prepare anything. I eat Ezekial bread which is at the Jewel in the freezer in the natural section. I do not know if you can have that.
I spent a lot of years going to school to be a nutritionist and what I learned was all lies. The food they push as healthy these days is the opposite. The best thing to eat is fruits, veggies and legumes. I know more than most about nutrition. But sadly my knowledge resulted in having to have 3/4 of my stomach removed because I am a carb addict.
Good luck on your continued quest to get healthy.
Hugs,
Sharon
I also don't have to worry about condiments like catsup and stuff because I like things plain. See sometimes it pays to be picky!!!
Hi Peeps,
I tried to get on a couple times yesterday morning, but like Crystal the day before, every time i got it finished, the system took forever to process it and I lost it several times. I got fed up and had to leave.
I spent yesterday with my grand-babies. It is always the best time.
We have another busy weekend. My husband's high school principal is retiring so we are going to a luncheon tomorrow and then Grathell wants to go to a wine fest in Tinley tomorrow night with another couple so I am going to try and find the advance tix today to purchase.
I have a color and cut tomorrow morning. I feel washed out and need a change. Who knows what I will look like come tomorrow.
Sunday we are moving our church after service. So today i will go get my car cleaned so I dont look like a piglet when the church folk shove boxes in my hatch. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Ta-ta my chikadees.
Hugs,
Sharon
Good afternoon Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
I stayed home today for a "me" day. After calling in, I went back to bed and slept until almost 2! I didn't really want to get up then, but felt I should do something constructive. I am going to vacuum my stairs that have been needing it for far too long and maybe make a lovely dinner. I will see. I also have a lot of reading to do.
Everyonew have a nice afternoon/evening.
Hello folks!
I went to the Bookworm today to knit for a while and then came hope and took a nap. I could still be sleeping if I did totally what I wanted. Kay did her taxes today and took them to the preparer who will have them done by Monday. I told her to ask the preparer to file an extension on mine. I just can't ge them done this weekend. I hate this kind of paperwork. I don't even get all my info till the end of March, so it's a pain to get done on time.
Have a great day and weekend..
Connie
