Hello

I never had knee surgery but I know someone that did and he was a new man afterward.  He was so happy to have it done and the pain was gone and he can walk further and faster.  So just remember that this will be the beginning of a new era for you.  Don't focus on the the surgery focus on what this surgery will do for you.  Your quality of life will be better and you will be happier.  Try to focus on this as you are approaching your surgery date.

Good luck and don't worry you will be good as new soon

Hello crystal M.,

That's good to hear (read) that you know someone had knee surgery done and that the pain was gone and that he can walk further and faster. I know this will help me out on my the new beginning of a new era for me. That makes sense on don't focus on the surgery and focus on what's after surgery that will do for me (I didn't think of it that way {thank you}) So true about the quality of life will be better for me/anyone and being happier. I'll try my best to focus on it for my up coming surgery date. Thank you so much for you commits.

I always have my nervousness while i am contemplating the surgery and seeing the physicians. Once I make the decision, I get calm.

I noticed you have had VSG and a tummy tuck? After that, I would think anything else would be a piece of cake.

I've never had knee surgery but I know a couple people who have and they all said it wasn't bad at all.

My mom always told me, "do exactly as the doctor says".

I have always taken that advice and it has served me well.

Blessings and hugs,

Sharon

I'm not the only one that feels that way. I did go to a mandatory class for joint replacement class which it did help me out from a nurse, physical therapy, and occupational therapy had to say. I am happy that I went to this class. Which did help me calm down some.

Yes I have had the VSG & two tummy tucks and might need a third one. In a way it is a piece a cake, but it kind of not a piece a cake. The hospital that I'm going to have will make my third surgeon at the hospital (one for weight loss surgery, one for the tummy tuck, and now one for knee surgery).

That's good to know that you know someone that had knee surgery and that was not to bad at all.

Really on what your mom told you?

You have a great mom.

Thank you for your commits and thank you for you blessings & hugs.

Watson.

So far I had only two tummy tucks so far, the first one I had done is that I had lots of hanging skin & fat also I needed to have a ventral hernia that was repaired at the same time, the hanging skin & fat that I had 20 pounds of. The ventral hernia that I had was a good size one (about half the size of a silver dollar). The second tummy tuck that I had done was for my hanging chest that needed to be pulled up and tightened up, also about 2 pounds of skin removed. As far as a third tummy tuck, I still need to have my chest area to be tightened up a little bit more, it still on the floppy side. All this was from...well...being over weight. My heaviest weight was at...565 pounds. My weight as of March 12, 2013 is at... 166.6 pounds. From being that big, I had to to something about my weight. The weight that carried around for all these years did damage to my knees & hips. My knees are full of arthritis, my knee caps are off to the sides instead of being in the center of my knees and my knees are falling apart. I was you the best on your journey that you have ahead of you. You're welcome Sharon.

Also to let you know about my knees about all that weight that I carried away for a long time made my knee & legs curve outward from the knees down.

Jason.

Hi,

I have not had knee replacement, but I know that I will have within a few years, but, I have had a heart vavle replaced, and a couple of heart bypasses done. Don't dwell on your upcoming surgery. Just think how good it will be afterward.

Good Luck,

LISA
