We will be leaving for Vegas in a couple of hours. I am really starting to get excited.

We are not in the storm watch, but Monica is. Hopfully they leave early.

Been real busy with work, home and making jewelry. I did something this week that I had never done before - shot a gun. I have worked for the PD for 33 years, been around guns but never have gone to a range. I went with a group from our most recent Citizen Police Academy that was taken to the range at Elk Grove Village PD.  I shot a Glock 9MM and an AR-15. Did not like the AR as it is heavy and hard to keep aimed because of the weight. Neither of them had much of a kick . . .

I am must futzing around the house today, little laundry is about it as we need to be at the Creek by 530ish to serve a meal to the team that is rehearsing for Easter. Before that I am going to a store called Clothes Mentor. It is a consignment shop with ladies clothing. I would like to get a couple of ladies belts to dress up some of my larger shirts and wear the belt on the outside of the shirt. There are several stores in the Chgo area, Schaumburg, Harwood Heights, Orland Park, Aurora, Crest Hill.

Christine-  I am going to be going to a gun range sometime soon.  I am kind of excited.  I have to learn how to shoot and handle a gun gun before I own one.  I hear the gun ranges have different guns you can rent and I have a list I want to try out before I buy one.

Today I don't have much going on...I am working out, doing laundry, and I am going to make that shepards pie I didn't make last week. I will also call Amanda today.

I have a friend that I really only talk to on Facebook that is going to go on one of those liquid diets...like Optifast.  She is obese.  I want to tell her she will have only short term success with that diet.  I want to tell her she needs to work on changing her lifestyle and eating habits.  This extreme liquid diet will NOT, change the fact that she eats at fast food restaurants and she makes it a habit to snack on high carb empty calorie crap.  The liquid diet won't change the fact that she doesn't get up and move or exercise!!!  These are the bad habits she is ignoring and going to go back to after she is done with this diet.  I want to say something but we just aren't close enough...and she is going to think I am nuts thinking I know more than her doctor!!!  Oh well.

I hear more bad weather is on the way here...damn it!!!

Your friend should try Medifast under the direction of a doctor. You can purchase the product on your own also but I feel that a medical professional would bring more success into the equation. Medifast is a modified liquid diet with one of the meals being food and there are other snacks you can eat like protein pudding and bars, oatmeal, eggs etc. If she is in the Downers Grove area you might want to encourage her to contact my surgeon's office for them to supervise her on the diet as that is what they have patients on before they have surgery and are waiting for insurance approval.

We went out to breakfast with friends at Greenfire. Then we went to Choices grocery which is an organic and health food grocery. They are amazingly well stocked. I didn't know we had such a place here. Later today we will go to the Bookworm to help make some of the Easter bake goods. Well, Kay will and I'll go along. I don't have any decorating skills, but I can sit there and knit! And enjoy the company of the folks that work there, because the store is closed today. I have two scarves to finish and then I'm going to start a lace design class on line.

I enjoyed watching the snow this morning while reading the paper, but it doesn't look like we'll get much more.

Well, we had snow again overnight!  I understand Ohio has a lawsuit out against that lying groundhog!  He deserves everything he will get including the death penalty!  Stupid gopher.  Early spring my as*

Yesterday I spent the day catching up on my sleep and getting glares from Fluffer.  He is adorable.  Now I see how he is related to his mom.  He is grey and white in his markings.  She is black and white.  The funny thing is when he has long fur there is brown and orange there but when he is shaved he is just a 2 toned cat.  Really strange.  His markings are just like his mom's.  So the real question is who is his daddy?  I have no clue.  He is getting used to his haircut now.  I think he hated it at first.  He would not let me near him.    After all we went from this  to this .

Today I have to go shopping.  Not much else on my agenda.
