Friday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I am having a bad night.  Well I was sleeping fine but then I woke up at about 2:30 and couldn't get back to sleep.  But it's Friday so I don't mind too much. 

Yesterday I was tested yet again!!!  It was my own fault I was talking about it being PI Day and one of my friends at work started to beg me to go out with her for pie for lunch.  There's a Baker's Square just a mile away!!  And she just kept at it and I kept saying no.  Finally she left me alone.  I think if she bothered me a little longer I would have caved.  Thank god she gave up.  When I told her that I had more weight to lose and...these last 25 lbs are the hardest and that's when I have to be the strictest... she said you're fine the way you are.  She kept saying things like that.  If I let people talk me out of my weight loss goals then I will never get where I want to be. Maybe, I do look fine where I am...but I could be better.  And I am still considered overweight.  I will be happy when I reach my goal of being normal on the BMI scale.  And I think being somewhere in the middle of that range is a safe and healthy weight...and that's my goal. 

Today I will be working and stopping at Walmart and Target and Chipotle (of course!!!)....then home to workout.  That's my day...how about yours???

Coffee, Cream cheese with  onion and chives and canned jalapeno veggies and five shots of the juice to sip on.  Gonna clean up and wander over to Walgreens in a bit.  Then maybe hang out for a bit at the news stand or if I decide not that today I may go to the loop for a cigar.  Then freegeek for the rest of the day and back home.

It's Friday! 

I am so glad the week is over!  We are slowing down a little at work but call volume is still up.  I know that does not make sense but at least we are now getting a chance for something to drink between calls.    Today I got notice that they canceled my goofy schedule for next week.  I was beginning to think I would have to work those hours and wait another week for it to change.  So that is a relief.

I never posted my results of my visit with the kidney doctor.  My news was good!  My kidneys showed some improvement in the numbers this time!  I was excited.  So no damage was done last fall.  I am really low in iron again and need transfusions.  The kicker is our area hospitals do not give them after 3:15 in the afternoon and I wor****il 3:30.  Two years ago they let me come in during the evening to do this.  They are refusing right now.  I have a call in to the director of the hospital.  Do they want patients or not?  People do work!  UGH!

Last night I went to the dentist and he fixed my partial while I waited!  I could not believe it.  I thought I would loose it for a couple of days.  He has just completed building a brand new office and all I can say is WOW!  It is absolutely stunning!  He moved from this building built in the early 1900's that was a slum compared to this!

Norma, I am so sorry that they were unable to remove the hernia!  I am VERY thankful that you are alive but that has got to be SO frustrating to have to put up with recovering from surgery and not having anything done!  I would be so mad!

Lisa,  I saw that it was in the 80's in Vegas.  That sounds wonderful!  How long will you be there?

Connie, Arkansas is calling your name.  That is so nice of you to get your son a car and take it to him! 

Randy, this is great weather to hang around with other nerds and discuss computers and plot together.

Dawn, I am so proud of you for showing your willpower at the store.  You did fabulous!    Keep up those conversations with yourself.  Just tell the drinking side of you to go away that you are too busy living to deal with him. 

Crystal, Randy has a great idea.  Give hot guy your extra food!  What a great way to get friendlier.  It wouldn't hurt to say,  I just baked cookies and I cant have more than one,  here -- have them.   They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. 

Chris, it sounds like you have a great wardrobe selection.  You are ready to go for work and any other affair.

Nancy, would you mind reposting your Rueben Casserole recipe again? I cannot locate my copy of your original post.

I am not finding it either, but it was similar to this one:

Rueben Casserole,

Thin layer of bread crumbs on bottom of greased casserole dish.
Layer Sauerkraut, chopped up corned beef. FF 1,000 island and swiss cheese to make the amount you need.  Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

Nancy-  Here's what I'm afraid of...I am older than he is..by 8-10 years.  If I start feeding him won't I become a "mother" figure to him???  Because isn't that a form of mothering...and I definitely don't want him to see me as a mom-type person!!!!  I don't know maybe we need randy's opinion on that.

Heck NO!  Age is really insignificant at this time of life and less than 10 years is a drop in the bucket.  There is no way on God's green earth that he can look at you as a mother figure!  You are too hot girl!  So get that mom figure idea out of your head.  Right now!  He will just look at you as an awesome cook with an awesome body!  

Hi Everybody,

I got a last minute appointment for my hair yesterday after I left my grand-babies. Then my hairdresser, my hubby and I went to the American Legion for meat loaf. it was divine. Jimmy, my hairdresser is one of my best friends. He and his partner are like my brothers and we always have the best time together. 

Today I am back to spring cleaning. I have 4 levels in my house and the main level is done. Today I am hitting the upstairs.  I keep staring at my mom's bedroom door and know the day is coming when I will have to go in there and deal with things. To date, I am still not ready. 

My 5 year old grand daughter wished me a happy Pi day yesterday.She then proceeded to tell me in detail what PI day is. She is home-schooled and knows way more than I will ever know. The other day she told me all about the Ming dynasty. It's hysterical to hear her talk to me about such things in that sweet little girl voice. She sounds like an adult in a little girls body LOL. She knows geometry and is learning how to declension nouns in Latin now. When she was 3 she knew the multiplication tables and could read. It is amazing to me.

Sharon, it sounds like you have a little Einstine in your 5 year old granddaughter. Home schooled or not, she is one smart cookie. You must be proud of all the kids.

Nancy, is your dentist now on Airport Rd ? Next to the new animal hospital? We will be in Vegas 5 days, and we are going to the Grand Canyon for 2.

I had a semi good/bad day yesterday. First, I had to get a Dr. Visit changed. They called with a reminder about my 10:30 appointment for Monday. It was set for next Thursday. So I called to get it fixed, and I now have an appointment for 1:15 on Thursday.

I did have a nice phone visit with my best friend.

Then, my supervisor called to let me know that they were bringing one person back this next week. But not me. They decided that since I had a vacation coming up, and surgery in the next month, then I should continue to get my unemployment and they would bring someone else back. I have halfway decided that that was a way to get me to retire. We will see what happens in the fall.

I also got an Email that our state tax form was rejected. I finally found the problem and resubmitted it.

Today, I am going to tie up some loose ends around here. Just stuff that needs to be done.

That is my dentist's office on Airport Rd next to the new vet's office.  It is so beautiful inside!  He has been dreaming of it for 12 years.  His smile never left his face last night.  I have never seen anyone so happy!
