Thursday Roll Call
Hello everyone
It was funny I was talking about how I am forced to be nice to people who come in to work. Well yesterday a guy came in from the Illinois Internal Revenue Service....ya you WANT to be nice to him!!! I was very charming...hahaha!!! Just kidding I just got the tax accountant and went back to work. Did I tell you that I was told they want to keep me where I am because some of the higher up people told my boss that I have a great personality and smile and they like that I am the first person people see when they walk in....aww isn't that nice...they don't know me very well...hahaha!!! And really I like it because I know so many of the people of the company now and they know me and we joke around...and I know they don't know people who have been here longer than I have because I always have to help them with names or tell them where people sit.
Today is PI day so if you want an excuse to eat pie...this is the best excuse. Of course it doesn't have to be a bad pie. It could be a chicken pot pie, or a healthy veggie pizza pie....but who are we kidding I am thinking chocolate pie!!!!
I am loving the fact that it is staying light out later...it seems to be giving me more energy. Not to mention the feeling of Spring is coming and Winter will be gone soon. I did groceries after work dropped everything off and worked out and came home and it was just starting to get dark out...it is great!!!!
So it's time for me to finish getting ready...have a nice day all...see ya later gators.
Good Morning,
The only thing I dislike about DST is that at this time of year, it is still dark when I get up. The thing I love is also that it stays light longer in the evening.
Crystal, you do have a great personality, and a great smile. You own it.
I just realized, I am turning into my mother. She always laid down in the afternoon, and I am finding, since i have been off work, that if I sit down in the recliner, I will dose off for twenty minutes or so.
I have no plans to leave the house today, nor any house plans. I will see what developes.
Good Luck to Norma today. You will be loser and able to join us on the losers bench, We did save a seat for you.
Huggers to all,
LISA
Norma, I am sorry, I knew you already had weight lost surgery, so have good luck with your hernia surgery.Let us know how you are doing.
LISA
Unbelievable, I woke up from surgery to find I still have the hernia, Dr Joyce told me he'd rather have me with a beating heart than a flat stomach. I have the awful gas, dry sore throat , and a sore cut belly . My pulse dropped to 30 so he had to quit. I'm so upset but above all I'm alive so I am thankful to God and my Doctors skill. I have to go back to the heart doctor for more intensive test.
Norma
Morning Crystal and Everyone,
Boy did I miss an active day on here yesterday. I tried to leave a post early but it disappeared and i finally just gave up. Weird.
I, too, saw a robin yesterday. I did not know they stayed in through the winter. I have seen groups of them migrating in the fall somewhere. I have always used their arrival for my signal it is finally spring. I guess I was using the wrong signal, but old habits die hard and I am going to take it. My lilies are pushing thru the ground and I see so many little green tulips making their way through the cold ground. Yippy.
Crystal, that job loves you. I think you have a permanent home if you want one.
Lisa, you have to be so excited about the wedding. I know Carson's is having a huge sale right now and I know if you bring in a donation of old clothing you get a coupon for each article you donate. I think it is triple coupons on Friday. I am going to check it out on-line and see what I can find as well. I need capris too. I have super short legs and capris are always ankle pants on me. LOL
Nancy, isnt today your Friday? Enjoy!
I found airline tix to Camden (outside of NYC) for $39 on Frontier airlines yesterday. Now I have to figure out how to get from the Camden airport to Manhattan. I hope we do not have to rent a car...........
Today is my grand-baby day so I cant wait to see my little tykes.
I spent yesterday pushing through my spring cleaning. My goal was to be done by Friday but I am going to need more time. I spent the whole day yesterday cleaning out the pantry and kitchen. I was so busy I forgot to start dinner and we wound up just going out for a quick bite instead. There is something wonderful about knowing your cupboards are clean
Thinking about our friend today who is having surgery....my prayers are with her.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.
Hugs,
Sharon

I guess that's the good thing about living in a one bedroom apartment. Even if I took apart every cabinet and washed it...it would take me, maybe an afternoon to do it. Not to mention I live alone and I am very neat so I don't mess anything up. Nothing really ever gets so messy that it takes all day clean.
When Amanda lived with me though I was forever trying to get her to pick up after herself. And when she would make herself something to eat and clean up...her idea of cleaning up was not my idea of cleaning up. I would have to clean up after her. But I didn't criticize her. I know I am overly picky and anal about my cleaning habits. So I would always have cleaning to do when she was around....hahaha!!!
Good Morning Everyone!
Happy Friday Eve! Just 2 more days of work and then it is the weekend! Yeah! Today I have a dentist appointment after work. I get to see his brand new office that they just finished building. I pass it every day on the way to work. It has been fun watching it progress but now it is finished. Cant wait to see the inside. I broke my partial the other day. He was having me wear it at night and I am a tooth grinder and I bit it into 2 pieces. Oh yeah! I had showed him how I was breaking it down a couple of weeks ago and he thought it was ok. I'll never believe him again! I get to say "I told you so" What is aggravating is that he could have filled it in the last time I was in and prevented this but he thought it was going to be ok. Now I have to pay for repairs.
I agree with Crystal that it is nice to have more light at the end of the day but it still seems strange. We had a great recipe last night for dinner. IT was a taco pie. Basically you made a mashed potato shell, then added ground beef and baked and then topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream. IT was like tacos without the shell. Yummy! That was the recipe Rick told me he didnt do ovens. And then he makes it the next day.
Crystal, what a great compliment at work! The person that greets everyone is a very important person for a business because they are representing the business. That means they really like you and how you present yourself and represent the company!
Dawn, you are doing so GREAT! It is indeed one day at a time, one moment at a time. Overcoming those urges are a humongous effort! . I do agree that a change in routine may help. I was stunned by Connie's facts in yesterday's posts. It really brought home to me why there are so many alcoholics in my family. I also am thinking that the sugar addiction must be very close to alcohol addiction and I have that stupid Carb addiction. We are all in this together. Keep focusing on the positive and remember that YOU can do it!
Lisa, Vegas is calling! What an exciting time you are going to have. I hope you have a wonderful trip!
Sharon, today is your day to be with your daughter and the kids! What a fun day!
Norma, we are thinking of you today.
Randy, we are behind you as well as you struggle. Please know that we are here to support you too! YOU can do it too!
Connie, travel safe!
Everyone have a great day!

Nancy- Your taco recipe sounds good. I would change it around to fit what I like. No sour cream or lettuce...and instead of tomato I would do salsa, and I would add refried beans...yummy.
The funny thing is most of the time I am just joking around with people. Kind of like I do on Facebook (but without the sexual innuendos of course...I have to hold back a little...hahaha). That's what I like about this place it's so laid back...you don't have to act so professional and uptight (like you do at most places). Most of guys there don't even go by their first names...they have nicknames or you call them by their last names like in the military....we all wear jeans and gym shoes. It's just a really relaxed place to work. The other day me and a coworker were joking around because the copier was working so we started dancing to celebrate...one of the guys walked in from the fab shop and saw us and joined us and then said "why are we dancing"...hahaha!!!
