Sunday Roll Call

Hello everyone

Did you spring forward?  Yes we lose an hour of sleep but we gain an hour of daylight after work.  I am looking forward to that!!!

Yesterday was a pretty nice day..weather wise.  I didn't get hardly any rain here (in fact I had my sunglasses on because of the sun) and it was in the 40's most of the day.  It's funny how your perspective changes from the beginning of Winter to the end.  In the beginning it's in the 40's and you are bundling up because it's freezing...towards the end...it hits 42 like it did yesterday and I was wearing my jacket and thinking what a nice day!!!!   Although, I did end up with a migraine.  I know it's because I pushed myself for the first time since I was sick.  I too my medicine and took a nap for about an hour and I was fine after that.

Today I am doing tow things for sure...I am dying my hair...the grays are showing so bad that I am having to touch them up with my brown eye shadow...hahaha!!!!  I am also making dinner...I have decided to make the beer chicken again.  I really liked it and it was super easy.  I guess I will also be walking to get my newspaper.  Other than that I am wide open today....how about you guys??

So I am going to go ahead and start my day...you guys have a wonderful Sunday....see ya later...bye

Hi Peeps,

I was up and driving by 5 a this morning. It was pouring and I was just praising God that it wasn't snowing instead. My hubby had an early flight to Orlando this morning so I was the designated driver.

I am a greeter at church this month and have to get there early. Afterwards, I am having lunch with my best friend. We have been friends for 30 years and it is always good to hang out with my bestie and catch up. We rarely see each other, but we send each other a text everyday to make sure we are both alive and well.

OK, I am confused. Lately, I have been having a real hard time losing pounds as i continue to lose inches. Well, last week I was not able to work out as much as I usually do. I was crazy busy and time and stuff just kept getting in the way. Today I step on the scale and I have lost 8 lbs. How is it when i work out and exercise like a maniac the scale does not move..... but when I stop exercising I drop the weight? Crystal, I know you have the answer to this debacle.

I am trying to slowly wean myself from meat and get more protein from beans and legumes. I know meat has the most dense protein, but I am feeling like I need to eat more micronutrients from plant based sources. I bought dried beans and am soaking them, so I can cook those and get protein from them. I also got some raw milk and will incorporate that more into my diet. In order to buy the raw milk, I had to buy shares in the cow since it is illegal to sell raw milk. When I was signing the waivers I felt like i was in some secret society that nobody can find out about. Cracks me up.

Today I have to run a few errands and then I am coming home and chilling. I think I am going to make something yummy for dinner, but right now have no idea what that will be.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Hugs,

Sharon

Sharon-  I do have a theory but its just that a theory.  I believe our bodies are working a week or so behind our schedule.  So when we first start working out that's why it takes a week or two before we see the scale to move.  You slowed your workouts and it takes a week for it to kick in.  Also, when working out you are losing inches (gaining muscle) when you aren't you aren't the scale might move but not necessarily always in a good way.  Because you will be losing your muscle...hence the loss in weight. But that would take longer that just a couple of days off..to lose muscle mass.  But yes I think our bodies are a little behind are efforts.  So we workout like crazy in the gym...I think it takes time for a our bodies to register or effort our lack of effort.  So it just seems like when you stop you drop weight.  But I think you dropped weight because of the effort you put in a week or two ago.

Of course this is just my theory.

Of course there is also another person that told me once if you are in a weight loss slump one way to shock your way into losing again is to stop working out completely for a few day to a week and then start up again full force...supposedly it's supposed to shock your system and confuse it.  Maybe you are confusing your body????

Good morning,

I agree with Crystal, when we exercise we build muscle mass so we lose inches rather than weight and it does take our bodies a while to catch up.

I've got a project to work on today so I hope I make myself do it. Then I need to spend some time planning what to take to Arkansas Friday. We are going to take a car to my son who is moving there. I think I already posted on this. I am looking forward to seeing both him and my granddaughter who I rarely get to see. She's 11 and I think we'll have fun.

I plan to get in some reading too. I have leftovers from last night to eat. we went to Social with some friends and had a wonderful time enjoying being out together. It was a last minute deal but really a hoot!

Take care everyone and enjoy yourself!

Good Afternoon everyone!

The weekend is flying by as usual. I still have grocery shopping to do.  So my work is not done.

Today I am playing the game of "lets switch tv service"  My bill is out of sight again and I can get it lower by switching.  I wish they would quit playing games but if that is what I need to do to cut my bill in half, then I will do it,

Gage is getting all excited.  He has a part time job now!  Up until now his mom would not let him work.  He will be at the place that used to be Santa's Village.  Now it is a Paint Ball place.  He started training yesterday and loves it.  But it also means we wont see much of him.  They grow up fast.

Not much else going on.

Everyone have a great day!

Good afternoon Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I am here lurking mostly.

Riley came over Friday night and we made lots of stuff.  Lotion bars, shower bags and sugar scrub.  I have promised to send some to some friends and one is going to knit us hard soled slippers for our efforts.

I got a new smart phone an it is really something to get used to.  I now have about 7 icons for weather on my home screen that I can't figure out how to get rid of.  Goodness, I only need one!  The darn thing is so sensitive.  Amber and everyone else tell me that I will grow to love it in time.......I hope so.

We had a lovely dinner last night of filet mingon and fresh green beans (sp?) and are having country ribs tonight.  I finally used my gift card for Countryside meats!

I can't believe how foggy it is out here.  I am staying in except for delivering a couple of bags.

Everyone have a lovely evening!

Tell someone that you love them!
