Hello everyone

I think I am feeling better this morning.  The sinus pressure seems to be gone.  It hit a high yesterday afternoon and evening.  I was joking at work that my head probably weighed a couple pounds more than usual...hahaha!!!  I didn't let it bother me...I just kept myself busy.

Today after work I am stopping to pick up a couple things.  The Walmart was out of some of things I wanted.  I hate that.  After that I am going home.  That's it for me.

So what are you all up to today???

Well have a great day...see ya later...bye

Hi Crystal and IL Peeps,

I am reading a magnificent book called Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman. It is as radical as the diet I did after my surgery, only instead of protein the majority of one's diet is veggies. The book is compelling. I was on the phone last night for 2 hours with my cousin from NY who has become a vegetarian. We are close but have always lived very far apart except when we were little and lived together in Long island. She called to tell me my mom's brother died from pancreatic cancer. My Oma, his mom, died from the same thing as did our great grand-father. It got me to thinking about this diet, which is also called the anti-cancer diet. I am going to have to dig deep to become a vegetarian. I guess, it is the last frontier as far as my relationships with food go.........

Today is my busy day. I get to see my grand-babies today. I am excited about that.

I will also be working out and going to house-group tonight.

Have a great day, Y'all!

Sharon

Sharon-  Oh I have a number of vegetarian cook books and individual recipes I found on pinterest.  Amanda is vegetarian and I was always looking for good meal ideas.  I got used to making food I found gross...yuck!!!

Good Morning Crystal, Hope you feel better soon,

For me today is day 4 of liquids, so far so good, yesterday was a good day, much better the Tues. I have no hunger pains, (,which I dont have since the surgery) I just need to get my head to think of something else.

I have a interview in JVL today, and will be calling about another job as well, I hope that I get one of them.laugh.

Other then that not much going on here, keeping busy. Oh I have lost 5 lbs since Mondayangry Hey its a start right.

Everyone have a great day.

Success begins with wise choices I make,I will not let noncompliance be my mistake, The surgery I had was to assist me in changes. My compliance is for a success long range, So I will think before I decide to cheat. Remember the goals I want to meet. For this surgery is not something I was force to do It was what I wanted for a healthy life!

Good Morning Everyone!

It is Friday Eve!  Almost the Weekend!  Yeah!  Today is work and afterwards I get to go see the local vampires to get lots of blood drawn for my kidney doctor's appointment next week.  I always laugh. they call me a week before to remind me that I need the tests.  Somehow I feel like it is my mother calling.  Work is still super busy.  No rest for the weary.

I could not believe the difference in the roads between yesterday morning and evening.  It was like night and day.  So nice to see.  Another nice thing to see is gas prices are dropping a little here.  They gouge you in my city.  I am not looking forward to the time change.  It is now light when I get up and as of Sunday, it will be back to getting up in the dark.  I know that wont last too much longer but it is nice to be able to see in the mornings and not step on a cat or two.  At least they appreciate that.

Life is busy.  Hard to believe we are in March.

Everyone have a great day!

Hello folks!

I have a busy day today. The Dean of the Medical school where I taught is retiring and the party is this afternoon. After we have to go to the 'burbs to stay overnight because i have a workshop tomorrow. We'll be home late tomorrow night. Kay's going to go to the Botanic Gardens while I'm at the workshop.

I have flirted with being a vegetarian a number of times, even did it for a year or so when the kids were young. One of my friends is very active with the vegetarian group in Rockford. We were talking the other day and that led me to looking up the protein in beans and such. I couldn't eat enough quantity to get 60 grams of protein. A cup of beans is only 9 or 10 and the equivalent of 6 cups of beans a day doesn't seem doable for me. Also the doc and the NUT talk about whey protein as being the most digestible for us and the vegetarian friend doesn't think whey protein is the right choice. He's a doctor, but I'm sticking with my surgeon. I can add some vegetables but I find that if I get enough protein I don't have room for lots of veggies. I'll be interested in how you make this work, Sharon. I haven't been able to figure it out.

Have a great day!

Connie

I was a lactovegetarian for a couple of years in college but got so mellow that I did not feel like me and went back to meat.
