Wednesday Roll Call

The term hacking does not mean we are illegal hackers.  We use the same back door and sneaky types of access but get permission first.  Folks actually come to us and ask us to hack their data.  IDES was asking us for the second time last night.

Randy

So you have been forgiven?

Randy- Do they ask you to "hack" so they cam see where their weak spots are???

Randy,

I was teasing you.  I realize that hackers can do great things to enhance computer security.  I am all for the hackers that help spot those flaws that let the bad people into systems.  It is really sad when people do it for malicious reasons.  But when it is for a good cause, more power to you!

Nancy-  I do feel pretty lucky.  I like my job.  If you notice I rarely complain about the company or the work...maybe the auditors.  The people are nice and the company does seem to care about it's employees...I wish they would show us in a different way other than stuffing us with food!!!!  And there is an added perk to working in a company where the guys out number the girls 3-1....they always want to take care of us.  Yesterday...they were out there helping us cleaning off our cars!!!!  Now that's service...of course I told the guy to help this other older lady that I can handle mine just fine.  I always feel funny excepting help from men....I don't know why.

Hello friends,

Well we got over 9 inches yesterday. That should help catch up the lack of water. Hopefully it will melt slowly enough that the drought gets caught up.

Today is knitting but we skipped the early breakfast. Thought we'd let the rush hour traffic clean the roads. I finished my Icelandic sweater yesterday except for buttons. I won't have time to get them today--maybe tomorrow. I did the pattern from the Craftsy web site and it was taught very well. I know how to do most of the sweater but did learn a few new techniques.

That's about all I know today! LOL!

Drive safely!

Good afternoon Randy and the rest of Illinois!

I am back at work after the snow day.  I even took a nap yesterday!  I made a nice roast beef dinner and some mini-banana muffins for Todd and Liv.

Olivia actually used the snow blower and Todd gave her kudos for doing a pretty good job.  I am so glad, cause I was afraid he would come home and be upset that it was not done "his way".  After dinner, he went out and cleaned it up a bit, then did paths to the neighbors and cleaned up some of theirs.  By the time he came in, he said the blower was broken.  Hopefully, just a shear pin, as those seem to break quite often.

Because of the nap, I did not get to make lotion bars.  I am excited to get some more done but I have to find the time.

I made a few phone calls yesterday to try and get help with my "issues" and I thought it was productive until the late afternoon when the insurance called back to say the place I was talking to was not covered.  I have to start over now.  That was a bit of a let-down.  I am hoping to get time this afternoon.

I am SO ready for this snow and ice to be gone.  It reminds me too much of the Frankenankle.

Everyone have a great day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Hello to all,I finally got my referral, had the appointment, and got the clearance for hernia surgery on the 14th. Out patient. Has anyone had experience with this? I don't know what to expect, we plan to take a trip to Ky the last of the month, and I really need a break from this weather. Flowers are in bloom there.

Hey Norma,

What part of KY? My dad's family lives there is Greensburg. I've never been.......my dad left home at a young age and never went back.  The entire family I knew was on my mom's side and they all live in Germany.

Silver Cross will take very good care of you.

Hugs,

Sharon

Our place is at Ky Lake about 11 miles from Murray and 45 minutes south east of Paducah. It's so pretty down there, reminds me of the Ozarks. My husband wanted to move there when he retired but I didn't want to leave the kids, plus I love the stores, people close by and noise up here. Now Murray has as much as Joliet, the neighbors are wonderful, they watch the house for us and I love it there. We spend the summers there.

I like Silver Cross too, We seldom have long waits, and the people are so kind and helpful, it must be a nice work environment for them.  I see you posted very early, I'm a night person and usually go to bed around 1 or 2.

Have a great day, Norma
