2 week liquid diet
Hi, it's been a long time since I've posted, I had my lap band close to 5 years , haven't regretted it although I never made it close to their ideal weight, We lost our son way to young, my husband had heart surgery and I have several health issues, one is that Dr. Joyce will be doing a abdominal hernia operation for me soon. I thought I might do the 2 week liquid diet and can't find the instructions anywhere. He said the diet wasn't' necessary but would be ok. I've read your post for years now and admire how you all have accomplished so much. I kinda feel like I have a friend there when I am in Ottawa, Streator, the northern burbs, and I wonder If I'll run in to Crystal at Goodwills, lol I'm 73 years old and NOT a stalker. If any of you could remind me of the diet I would sure appreciate it. Norma
protein shakes (ready made or made from powder)
broths (I find Kitchen Basic brand the best)
Special K shakes
Slim Fast shakes
tea/coffee
milk
water flavored or straight
Go walking or do something else at meal times and this will take your mind off of the food. I had a liquid diet to clear liquid diet with my adhesion surgery in November and I found that the first 3 days were the worst so I started it over a weekend because I knew that doing things in the house would keep my mind off of food.

Thanks for the info, I had forgotten all that was okay on it, sure glad to see coffee on it. I won't be able to walk like you do, my rheumatologist says not much weight bearing exercise. I do shop and etc but the bursitis gets real painful. I'm hoping to get a lot of riding on my 3 wheel bike when the weather permits.
Hi
I just want to say you can join in our daily roll calls at any time. We are always love newcomers. So instead of "stalking" why not hop in and introduce yourself...as you know we talk about everything and not just weight loss....because we believe everything relates/effects weight loss.
By the way...me and you and Sharon all go to the same clinic...the BMI clinic. So we might bump into each other there...or Goodwill!!!
Welcome!!!
Yes I love going to Goodwills and go to many, we stop at the New Lenox one when we go to Silver Cross. It's on Route 30 out east by Walmart. I hunt quilting stuff and look for pie birds.(although I have had no luck with the birds) . My best find has been a almost finished star quilt that I found in LaSalle. It was a unbelievable $3.98. It is hand quilted rough but that gives it character. Beautiful colors and only needed the binding. Thanks for the welcome, Norma
Sharon, I agree with you, we have the best surgeon and his staff is awesome. They really show us they care. With the coming snow I'm concerned about getting over there in the morning for blood test and x-rays. I have to go back Wed. to get clearance from the heart Dr. I'm thankful Ron's retired and drives me. Stay safe, Norma
Hi Norma
Good luck to you!
I remember that lots of hot tea, sugar free popcicles and a mixture of chicken and beef and vegetable broth were my best friends during the 2 week liquid diet. I am still a popsicle addict.
You have been through a lot in the past five years. I am sorry to hear about your son. It is scary to have a hubby go through open heart surgery.
We have a great support system with each other on our boards. Please feel free to join us. We love to add people to our group and get to know them. Also we want to be able to support you during your surgery and after.
If you are in Ottawa then you are close by me in LaSalle! Howdy Neighbor!

Hello, I thought you lived in Ottawa, We used to go to La Salle weekly to stock our spaces at the big craft mall. It was a shock when it burned down. We had pulled out before that because of illness but my heart broke to know the owners and crafters lost so much. Crafters *****nt spaces rarely have insurance. I live in Channahon, between Morris and Joliet, but a big Howdy to you too.
