Thursday Roll Call

Silly surgeons at NW would not see me as a follow up to GBS but will see me about all of my hernias so that is what I am doing today and then there is a meet up on Open Stack tonight so that is what I am doing today.

I also have a tooth giving me some pain so I will try and work that in today as well.

Yesterday I cleaned up the house, and then decided to look over the taxes before I hit the E-File. I am so very glad I did. I made a huge mistake, that could of cost us plenty. So, now instead of getting a refund, we have  to pay. Something told me there was a mistake, since we never get a refund,

Today, after I clean off the car, i am going to the store. Then finish some laundry . Nothing exciting.

Yesterday on the news, I heard where they need to trim billions from the budget. One of the programs they want to cut, is the program I work for. LIHEAP. I may be forced into retirement. I hope not, not only for the paycheck, but staying home everyday would kill me. It is boring.

Lisa-  you could always find something else to do.  You could volunteer.  With all of these budget cuts I am guessing organizations will need volunteers more than ever.  I always think if I didn't work I would volunteer for an animal shelter or Habitat For Humanity...something like that.  I am sure you could find something you have passion for. 

But hopefully it doesn't come to that.  I don't think any that will effect me too much but I am still hoping they (they..meaning both sides...I am bi-partisan) can get this crap resolved once and for all....because it does impact so many.

Hello everyone

I am sooo sick of this snow...I know, I know it hasn't snowed that much this year but I'm still sick of it!!!  I was already looking forward to Spring...remember last year when it was 80 degrees in March...ahhhh...that was nice!!!

My doctor appointment went well.  He loaded me down with decongestants!!!  I have 2 sprays...one for daytime and one for night time and a prescription for Clarion so I don't have to worry about that law now (I was over my limit).  Because you can only buy so many decongestants because of the meth-heads...they ruin it for us all.  But he says still have fluid in my ears...so I have to get my sinuses drained.  And funny thing I have only used that OTC spray for 2 days and he knew I was using it before I even told him.  He was looking in my nose and asked if I was using a spray.  I said yes I was...he wanted to know what I was using and said I looked inflamed.  He said either I was using a spray or snorting drugs...he figured it was the spray...hahaha!!!!

Randy- are those the surgeons that did your surgery.  Why won't they see you and why do you need to be seen? 

Well at least the weekend is almost here!!!  It's Friday Eve!!!

Hi Randy,

I hate tooth pain. I am a freak about my mouth and need to find a local dentist. My dentist retired and I do not care for his replacement. I am due to go back in march and have no idea where to go. 

Today I am seeing my daughter and grand-babies at the bible study. I am too tired to go, but I know it is the only way to connect so I am in. This particular class has a lot of homework and I am over-extended in the homework department due to the overabundance of house groups I got roped into. I will be a better steward of my time during the next go-around. Thank goodness there is only about 6 more weeks left of house-groups except this Thursday morning one. 

Yesterday I worked out hard and went to that meeting with the vitamin dude. It was interesting and I was correct, we spent most of our time talking about the start-up costs and how to attract prospective business associates...UGH. Not my cup of tea, but a necessary evil to buy this stuff. 

Lisa,  I am so tired of hearing about cutting this and that. Maybe if they cut the BS they could get things together. I am so disappointed in our leaders. The budget has gotten so big I do not believe they know how to even wheel it in anymore. It is move this here, move that there.  Our elected officials should let Dave Ramsey handle it. This economy would be better in no time flat. I'm so sorry they may cut your job. IT IS WRONG!

My only advice is find something you love to do. I am so busy now, I do not know how I will fit going back to work fulltime into my life. I am busy all the time working on my body, mind and spirit. I am trying to take the time that God has given me and make the time rich with experiences and lesson learning. Once you begin with one thing it leads to more. God will lead you. 

Crystal, I hope you get unstopped-up with your arsenal of nasal plungers/suckers....

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Friday Eve!

Thank goodness this second snow storm did not bring a diluge of snow.  What we have is enough.  We got maybe an inch more.  Rick took Smokey outside and put him in some snow yesterday and Smokey decided that inside was a nice place to be!  So I dont think we have to worry about Smokey escapes.  Gizmo may be next. 

I cannot believe it is the last day of February.  My how time is flying.  No plans for the upcoming weekend other than maybe getting a start on my taxes. 

Randy, I am sorry you are unable to get a followup at northwestern for your GBS.  I hope they will change their minds.  Have fun at your meet up today.

Lisa, I hope your job does not get eliminated.  I have been there and done that and it is not fun.  I hate being at the mercy of the government.  Right now, I am waiting to find out what Illinois does to my health care. 

Dawn, how is Liv doing"  My thoughts are with her.  I feel so bad for her.  I hope your commute the last few days has been a safe one.

I thought I would post a picture of my shawl made with possum yarn from New Zealand. I tired yesterday but it wouldn't work.today I might go knit with a friend who is housebound. Last night we went to the new yarn shop here for a sale. I only bought one skein of yarn for a sock Knit-a-long online. of course I stayed up late trying to follow the pattern. Kay is teaching today so I'm just hanging out.

Good morning Randy and the rest of Illinois!

I am working as usual.  The commute this morning was much better than the last two days. Tuesday night was not too bad but yesterday morning was awful.

I think I may get going on the taxes tonight too.  I have to do ours and both kids'.

Last night when Liv went to rehearsal, the lead was not in attendance so the director told Liv to play the lead.  I don't know if that means Liv is the understudy or if she has been moved up.  Drama, drama, drama at the Playhouse.......go figure!

I am thinking about getting a team together to do the Rad Run on August 31 in Madison.  I won't be able to actually RUN due to the ankle, but it looks like a ton of fun AND it benefits one of my favorite charities.  If anyone is interested, let me know.

I am looking forward to the weekend just so that I won't be here.  We may go to the home show in Rockford to try to find someone to redo our porch.
