Good morning!

Boy is it cold! When I got the newspaper it was really awful. Time for the down coat today.

Breakfast and knitting this morning. We will knit at a friend's house who is recovering from a hip replacement. That's the whole agenda today. Looking forward to seeing friends!

Stay warm!

Connie

Hello everyone

I just keep thinking that Winter will be over soon...maybe another month, month and half.  Then it will be getting better.

I am feeling much, much better.  Good thing too because yesterday was a busy, busy day.  Funny thing everyone was surprised to see me.  They thought I was going to take another day off...hahaha.  Maybe I should have???  You now at work how I am always cold.  A lot of people use space heaters but I couldn't because when I did it tripped the breaker and the power would shut off.  Well the IT guy fixed that for me last week.  I was sooo happy.  Yesterday...the space heater I was using all of the sudden started blowing cold air!!!  I think it's broke!!!  So one problem fixed and now I have another problem!!!  It's like someone up there WANTS me to be cold!!!!  What the heck.  I was cold yesterday!!!  I am debating on leaving here early and running to Walmart and buying my own heater!!!

I think today after work I will pick up some groceries because tomorrow there will be snow...yuck!!!  I also think I will do a light workout..  and that will be all for me.

Well I got to get going if I'm going to go to Walmart before work...stay warm...see ya later.

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I am working today as usual then a stop at the store then home.

Last night, I took Liv to audition for this year's high school show at the Playhouse.  We are a bit nervous to say the least.  It seems that the Playhouse has gone all "political" and it may not be all about how talented you are, but who you know.  We will be very disappointed if this is the case.  After donating years and years of our services and time, the current regime does not seem to know "who" we are.  Seems this year's director has already been casting amongst her friends and friends' children.  Keep your fingers crossed that this is untrue gossip.

Liv has the mechanical baby and I find it to be very fun!

I hope the snow passes tomorrow so Amber and I don't have to worry.  We are looking forward to our dinner and show.

I have been having problems with my ankle again and I may have to break down and see the orthopedist.  Damn!  He told me I would be recovered 100% in a couple of months.

I hope everyone has an awesome day......Spring is coming!

Good Morning.

The only good thing about this cold, is that the week is 1/2 over. The only bad thing is that we are to get  snow on Thursday. Oh well, it is Illinois, and winter will be over shortly.

No plans for today. I plan on staying in. I might go to the $ Store, for some hair gel, but not sure if I want to brave the cold.

Please stay warm and indoors if you can. It is brutal today.

Hugs

LISA

Happy Hump Day!

It is cold outside.  A good day to stay inside and be warm.  I am thankful for my remote start on days like this.

Today it is work and home.  I too am not looking forward to the snow storm.  Maybe it will miss us again?

Crystal, I think there is this cloud over you.

Everyone have a great day and stay warm!

Hi Y'all,

I've been working outside and I have a new appreciation for people who make their living being out in the elements in hot and cold weather. I dont know which is worse. I think hot would be harder for me. I just wear a lot of layers and a hat now.  Nobody is out in it, so I dont see many people  which is a positive in my line of work. Although, yesterday 2 very angry women screamed at me for doing my job. Both were single women renting from landlords who are in foreclosure but still taking their rent. Sad.

I am having a problem getting warm in bed at night. I never did get that wool blanket. Now I wish I had gone that extra mile to find it.  When I turn the heat up I sweat and cant get comfortable, when I turn the heat down I freeze.

I had to go to see the dredges of society today.......the unemployment board in Joliet. With me working; they got everything all screwed up. It seems my very part-time job  (like 40 hrs per month) disqualifies me for benefits. Ugh. What a joke. As a Christian woman I am not going to comment on what I had to sit next to this morning. The only thing I will say is: smells gross me out.

In addition, even tho I get no money, to stay qualified I have to attend classes now for job placement. I wish i could tell them to keep their paltry-maybe-in-the-future money I might get. There is a part of me that understands why people cheat the system. The system isnt very good.

I'm off to work-out. I am not a good PM worker-outer. I like to hit it early and be done with it. Oh well, maybe i'll warm up

Hugs,

Sharon

Sharon-  We have a bunch of guys that work out in the "yard" basically the yard is where we keep all of the scaffolding equipment, and other construction equipment.  All I know is it look like stacks and shelves of pipes and metal sheets and wedges...and so on...and they are always moving around things with fork lifts and cranes.  Well anyway...they are out there all the time rain or shine..heat or frigid subzero weather.  The foreman comes in all of the time to check his mailbox and pick up his guy's paychecks.  I always say hi and stuff (I sit right there...remember).  Well I asked him when we had that really cold weather a couple of weeks ago..."what's worse working in the subzero weather or the 100 degree heat" and he said and I quote..."Oh give me the heat any day!!!"  And I said really???  He said the cold hurts...the heat might be uncomfortable and unbearable.  But he said when you're out in the yard and a wind hits you and it's 10 below...after a while...it starts to hurt.

I guess I never thought of that....

Have you thought of sleeping on top of a heating blanket.  Not covered in one...but on top of it.  It can get suffocating being covered but laying on one is more indirect.  I also sleep in my Under Armour (well off brand Cuddl Duds).   But I am lucky the bed is one place I am always cozy and warm...I might freeze every where else in my life...but my bed is my oasis!!!

I bit the bullet and bought a soft wool light blanket and last night I was warm and not hot. It says I can wa**** on cold in the wash machine and dry it on no temperature. It feels like soft cotton not wool.  Interesting! I got it at Tuesday Morning. I had seen them advertised in a circular they sent me about a month ago. Best 69 bucks I have ever spent!

I have never thought of sleeping on a heating blanket; maginificent idea! I am a nudy (sorry for TMI) I must be au natural or I cannot sleep.

You are so wonderful....as is everyone on this IL site.

Hugs,

Sharon
