Tuesday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I am going into work today...even though I would like to stay home. I am just feeling tired.
Yesterday, I was so annoyed. My doctor is usually the kind of doctor that likes to see you in person before he prescribes anything. I knew this. He is not a call the prescription in kind of doctor. I called for an appointment as soon as the office opened. And he was still booked. I then get a call back from the nurse saying that the doctor wants me to see an ENT, and gave me his number. Ok, I call this doctor and they can't get me in until Wednesday afternoon!!! What??? I'm supposed to go till Wednesday without relief or medicine. No I don't think so. So I call my doctor back and tell the nurse what happened with ENT. I said I only had 1 round of antibiotics and I haven't been sick in 3 years...clearly I don't have issues requiring an ENT!!! I need some medicine...if I can't get them here I will go to urgent care!!! I did get some antibiotics finally...he called them in. I just had to get pushy!!!
I spent the rest of the day laying on the couch and eating. Why do eat so much when I'm sick??? I thought you lose your appetite? Especially when you are all stuffed up...because you supposedly can't taste as well. I tried to opt for healthy food...apples, nuts....but I did have a couple ice cream bars. Of course I am on steroids again and that increases your appetite!!! Ugh!!!
I am looking forward to March....why??? That much closer to Spring. We are eeking ever so much closer. I can't wait.
Well I have to finish getting ready...see you all later.... have a good day...bye
Hi Peeps,
I went to work yesterday and when I got there, the loon did not have the work ready. Ugh. I rearranged my whole day for nothing. Then he calls me and says he needs me for 9 hours today. Yesterday was a better day to be outside, today not so much.
I don't care for people who are not organized who run a business. The last time I worked my hand-held was not charged and the charger they gave me was broken. The time before that, the directions to addresses was jacked up.........I guess beggars cant be choosy but I am miffed. OK, I am done complaining.
Crystal, I think when docs are overwhelmed they refer, refer refer, especially on a Monday when they schedule is booked solid and their patient's are calling like crazy because the office was closed for 2 day.s and it's a holiday and everyone wants to come in......good for you that you did not just go along with the game-plan. I've worked with doctors for 30 years and they are all pretty much the same in that regard.
Lisa, what ever happened with the job? Did you ever get a firm date regarding a real lay-off?
Connie, possum???? I heard where a woman made a hat or something out of her dead pet's hair. Didn't know possum had any hair to speak of.....
Well, I gotta go work in the tundra.
Have a great day dahlinks!
Hugs,
Sharon
Sharon- I wanted to tell you I did contact the GOTR...they seem like a lot of fun. I'm excited. She's going to email me a list of up coming activities. I hope you are going too
I also keep forgetting to ask about freecycle. How does that work. You keep saying to "ask for it". Is that all I do...ask for it and people will just give it to me??? Really??? There has to be a catch...
Good Morning Everyone
I do not know what happened to me yesterday but when I logged in late last night I realized I had missed roll call! I guess I got busy at work and plain forgot!
Today it is COLD out there. This yo yo weather is for the birds! Of course they may not like it either.
Last night I spent the evening filling out a job application. We shall see what comes of it. It is actually in my field! That would be nice for a change.
Today it is work and home. I am all for that. I am already ready for Friday.
Gizmo is being a lovable little kitty. He is really sucking it up. I think he knows he was a bad kitty. So now he is trying to make up for it.
Crystal, I hope you feel better soon! I hate being on steroids. I want to eat everything in site when I am on them! Oh no!
Sharon, I too get very aggravated with people totally unprepared. I am so sorry that you are working for such a goofus.
Lisa, I hope you are getting some hours in.
Connie, Today is a good day to enjoy your porch.
Randy, come out and play.
Dawn, I hope you enjoyed your airport duty last night. That was a really awesome thing the eagle scout did for Todd. He should be pleased.
Chris, your day sounded like a lot of fun and very interesting!
Everyone have a great day!
Cat Lady
Good Morning,
Sharon, they have me on "on-call". What that is, if my boss can't work that day, they will call me in. I really don't think it will be to much. I am hoping to get back to work by March, but who knows.
Crystal, I hope you get feeling better.
Nancy, I hope your job search goes good. At least you still have a job while you are looking.
I didn't do to much yesterday, worked on taxes again last night, I am stuck on one thing, so I need to really get it in my brain, then I will be ok. i also put a necklace together yesterday. i will post it on facebook when I can.
today, I have called in my unemployment, and made a chicken cassarole for dinner. I love being able to make a compleate different dish from leftovers.
Not planning on leaving the house today. To cold.
Hugs,
LISA
Good afternoon Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
Crystal, I hope you start feeling better soon. I know what it is like as I have had a bad winter too. I don't know if it has anything to do with anything, but I am the only person in my family that got the flu shot this year and I have caught every little germ that passed by, except the flu!
Freecycle-----what a wonderful thing! Yes, you post what you want and if someone has it they will give it to you. It is a great way to get rid of stuff you no longer need or want but is too good for the trash. I used to keep up with it but my work email changed and I lost touch. People also post what they want to "gift" and if you want it, you send them an email. They choose whom to "gift" the item to and if it is you, you arrange how to get it. I got ice skates for David when he needed them for a scouting event. She mailed them to me from Carpentersville! I have given and gotten lots of stuff. I once traded a couch and love seat for a 30 inch color TV. It keeps useful things out of landfills. Amanda would be proud of you!
Working today then home safely, I hope. I was traveling west from the airport last night and it was an eventful ride. When I left, it was raining. When I got to Winnebago, (1/3 of the way home) it was starting to "slush". By Pecatonica (2/3 of the way) it was a downright blizzard! The rest of the way was slow and sure with "asteroids" coming at me and barely being able to see the road.
I am looking forward to Thursday night. I am taking Amber to dinner and to see "Spank" for her birthday. I hope the super storm does not mess up our plans. "Spank" is a comedy "Shades of Grey" parody.
I also am looking forward to Spring, but I am superstitious about the storms at the beginning of March since March 3rd will be a year since I broke my ankle. Darn thing still bothers me too!
Gotta get back to work!
Everyone have a wonderful day and stay safe and warm!
