Hello everyone

It was a very lazy rainy day for me.  I did some cleaning.  But for the most part I just laid around.  For me it was a lay around and listen to old music.  I listened to everything from 60's to Big Band to Sinatra.  I have a wide range of music taste.  Most people my age seem to only like one kind of music and that's it.  But I really seem to have let the people in my life dictate my taste in music.  My mom listened to 60's...Beetles, Joplin, Dylan, Doors....when I was a kid I turned my nose at it and made fun of of it.  Told my mom it was dorky.  Now I absolutely love it.  My grandma listened to Sinatra, Como, Martin...I loved her too much to make fun of her but I thought it was pretty nerdy...now I completely adore this music...and each song brings back a wonderful memory.  Heavy metal is from my brother....Funk and early rap is from the teenagers in my neighborhood that would hang out and blast their music on their boom boxes.  Classical music is from my Amanda...she introduced my close mind to this beautiful genre of music.  Southern rock is my dad....yep I love me some Skynard!!!.  And last but not least is big band...that was my grandpa....Benny Goodman will always remind me of my grandpa sitting and playing solitaire and listening to music.  All of these people have introduced music to me.  Of course my favorite and the music I listen to a regular basis is hard rock!!!!

I also made a really great home made mac and cheese that was almost as easy as the box stuff  and so much tastier.  I won't eat boxed crap anymore (it's so processed and full of chemicals) and I was looking for an easy mac and cheese recipe.  Well I found one.  It was really good.  Here's the recipe

http://www.evilshenanigans.com/2009/03/stove-top-macaroni-and-cheese/

I always read the comments people leave and I was concerned about the taste of the mustard in the recipe so I cut the amount to 1/4 tsp...the only thing I would change about the recipe is the red pepper.  I'm not putting it in next time.  To me it was out of place in the recipe...but if you want leave it in.  I also didn't put the hot sauce in.  So I just seasoned mine differently...but other wise it was fast and the results were creamy and cheesy.  I think it took me maybe 5 minutes longer than it would have if I made mac and cheese from a box!!!

So today is my busy day at work and after work is working out.  That's it for me.  How about you guys???

Well time to get going I have to take a shower...see ya laters gators...bye

Good Morning.

I usually don't hear much of the outside noises, but I really heard the wind howl this morning, I only have one errand to run today, and if this wind keeps up, it may not get done until later,

Growing up in the late 50's early 60's, I listened to Sinatra, Como, Elvis ( I remember his first time on Ed Sullivan), The Beatles, a lot of the boy groups, as well as Frankie Avolon and the Philly sound. Rock and my favorite still, country.

We were lazy yesterday too. I did manage to go outside and feed the birds and squirrels. Also made a good roast beef dinner. Today will be left overs of some sort.

I think the pantry is calling today to be cleaned out.

Have a great day, and don't get blown away,

Hugs,

LISA

Lisa-  I think it was one of those days.  It was so gray and rainy...who wanted to do anything but stay inside and cuddle up and relax with a book or listen to music (like I did)...or watch a movie.

Good morning!

I had to get up early because Kay is subbing today and she changes my bandage.I might be able to do it but it wouldn't be pretty because I couldn't see quite what I was doing. Oh well, some day this will be over too.

I enjoyed reading yesterday again and might do that today. I don't know if I will go out.I'll see how I'm motivated or not. I really should go to the grocery store, but we could eat out of the freezer too. I might be better for us to get rid of some of that stuff.

I was thinking about a fitbit but now I'm wondering just how fragile they are. It's a lot of money for a fancy pedometer..Ideas?

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. At least we aren't digging out of three feet of snow like the East Coast!

Connie, it is one of the most accurate step counters you will find. Pedometers will measure any movement (bending down or pulling your pants up/down or taking your shoes on or off). In my eyes that is not a step and a false measurement. Th Fitbit will calculate going up steps. Every 10' of elevavtion is a flight of steps so walking up a natural hill is calculated. Your quality of sleep is measured also. They are really are not that fragile. I was constantly taking my other one out of the holster to read my ongoing stats thru the day. Fitbit does have a unit that you wear like a wris****ch. Nike has a similar watch type of unit also. Go onto their website and research either Fitbit or Nike.

Connie- Do you think I would have been so upset if it wasn't so wonderful???  Just remember to put the Fitbit snuggly between the girls...not on the pocket of your jeans!!!  Learn from my mistake.

Also I have been meaning to tell you...your little reading nook is wonderful.  I am absolutely green with envy. Although, I have always wanted a back yard hammock thing in the Summer...now that looks nice.

I wear mine on my little coin pocket of my uniform and it stays in place and in fact the Fitbit One that I have now has a rubberized clip and holster and it it almost impossible to bump it off. Sometimes I think that I am going to rip my uniform pants to get it off. The Ultra has a little plastic piece that hooks back under the bottom of a belt and is almost as hard as the Fitbit One to knock off of the belt.

I think I actually might have hit it up against something like the filing cabinet or the counter.  Because I was moving around a lot ( I was on a deadline the auditors were coming!!!) and I think I might have crushed it without meaning too.  It didn't fall and break...part of it was still hooked on....pieces of it was on the floor and the hook was still on me.  So my next one is not going any where near my hip or waist area.  Like Sharon said it would be really hard to crush the boobie area...and if I did...I have lots of built in cushion...kind of like airbags on a car...hahaha!!!

Good Morning Everyone

It is time to batten down the hatches if you haven't already done so.  I woke up in the middle of the night to the wind howling and things blowing around.  I thought of my poor outside cat.  It sounded like her shelter was being torn apart.  It was still together this morning but the lid has blown off in the past wind storms.  She has a heated pad in it.  It is a deck box with a lid and doors.  I have one door off so she can gain entry to it.  Her food and water are on the open side and her heated pad is on the side with the door closed.  She has been taking advantage of it recently.

Crystal, I like all of the music you mentioned except for the country.  I have never gotten into it.  I love jazz and the big band sounds thanks to my parents.  Like Lisa, I grew up with the Ed Sullivan show so they had a wide variety of music and then there was Lawrence Welk that was my Grandmas favorite.  I listen to anything from the 50's to the 80's.  But mostly to the 60's.

Today is just work for me.  Tomorrow I may have to run to the store after work as we never got there this weekend.  Wednesday I have a hair appointment and Thursday a dentist appointment.  We also will go out to eat Thursday.  So it will be a busy week.

Everyone have a great day, dont get blown away!
