Hello everyone

I Well if you read my Facebook posts you know I had slid on the ice on the way to work yesterday and hit a curb going sideways, going about 30 mph. I then bounced off the curb and went the other way....I was like a pinball machine.  I got out of the car and checked my tire and you could see where I hit it.  So I got back in and started to drive and sure enough as soon as I got over 30 mph my steering wheel was vibrating.  Oh man I was so mad and worried.  I thought I damaged the tire rod, sway bar or even axle....I drove the 4 blocks to work.  The nice thing about working in place full of blue collar men one of them will know about cars.  So I found one.  He looked at my wheel and commented about how hard I must have hit the curb ( oh keep your comments to yourself).  He said he thought I only needed a new rim.  I bent the rim and that was obvious and shaved the edge off.  Well I was relieved he was right and that it only cost $77 to fix everything.  It could have cost more.  But I'm angry because that is $77 that I could have spent on something else.  If I had more time and it was nicer outside I would have tried to replace it myself.

I also caught that mouse finally!!!  He was dead as a door nail!!!  Some of the girls were feeling sorry for him...and reminded them they were the ones that were screaming for me to get him the day before!!!  And they were squeamish about being any where near the dead mouse.  I mean I wasn't touching it, I was touching the trap.  They acted like I was such a daring person...hahaha!!!  I then walked the extra bit over to the warehouse and threw him in the dumpster there because they were being so wimpy about it...I thought it would send them over the edge if I threw him in the office garbage can...hahaha!!!

I don't know I just don't get grossed out or squeamish about things...ever.  Or I do but instead of running away I get intrigued.  I'm like "Oooo gross...let me see that"  I can see and talk about gross things while I eat...no problems.  I don't remember ever being really grossed out.  I guess I am missing that gene.  Although, I don't like germs...but that's more because I don't want illness...not because of grossness.

Today I have no plans but work and working out.  How about you guys?

Well everyone enjoy the crappy weather we are going to have today....see ya later...bye

Good Morning,

Crystal, you deserve an extra treat for becoming a Defender against rodents. I don't like rodents either, and I have to admit, I can't remove them from a trap. If no one is home and I find one dead, I freak out.

You can look at your tire problem in 2 ways. Think of it as a cheap repair, or be glad that is all that happened. you could of gotten hurt.

Nancy, I hope you have a good 1st day back to work.

Dawn, it really has been a bad winter for you. Hope you can stay well for a while.

Sharon, when my girls were young, when we got a good snow, we would walk down to a local place for hot chocolate.

Not sure where we fit in to the crappy weather today, but I am only 1.5 miles  from work .

I may be heading for a layoff next week. It seems like there is money for the clients, but none to pay the employees. Hopefully it will be a short one, if any. We will find out Friday. I would like the time off, but, with trips coming up, I could  use the money.

Just workin today.

Hugs, Lisa

Hi Peeps,

I cannot believe how fast time is flying by. It's a swoosh and I look up and it's almost the weekend.

My hubby took a mental health day yesterday and just hung out. He must have needed it. I, on the other hand was like an energizer bunny. I worked out for almost 2 hours and then I went and ran errands. It was so gorgeous yesterday. There was no arctic freeze in the air. It was a seductive cool  that kept me in it all day.

I made my laundry detergent. It was a piece of cake. Now I have enough detergent for a year and it cost me under 12 bucks and it's non-chemical. I also made my  clothes softener and a delicious sugar facial scrub with lemons. I used to pay a fortune for all this stuff at Whole Foods, now I make it for pennies and it is just as good or better. I get most of my recipes from

CampWander.blogspot.com  and   OneGoodThingbyJillee.com

Dawn, I am so sorry that you have been hit with so much over the past month or so. There is nothing worse than the stomach flu in my opinion. I hope you feel better and stay healthy for the rest of this season.

Crystal, I am happy you were ok yesterday during the spin out. That can be very scary and dangerous. God had your back. Praise Him!  Yep, we are so similar in many ways, I too used to be a hoarder of cleaning products/canned food. I am a Costco freak and tend to go overboard on certain items. I am aware of what the items are and now will not buy that stuff unless I am specifically going to be using it for cooking that day. My day of reckoning came when I cleaned out my cupboard and found 12 cans of pigeon peas. LOL

Lisa, I dont know whether to hope you get laid off so you can rest, or hope you dont so you can make that money. It is a quandry I fight over myself everyday. I hope whatever is best happens.

Chris, when do you recharge your FITBIT? I have it on day and night. I tend to sit it in the charger when I am on the computer. Has yours ever died from not being charged? Will it beep or something?

Nancy, it's getting harder and harder to type with the boys. I find myself craning my neck to type or see the screen. They seem to take residence right in front of my computer screen. I am a woos and cannot shoo them either. I am cat co-dependent.

Randy hope everything is going smooth and you are doing whatever it is you do in that Pyton thingy.

Tonight I have another house-group. I got talked into this one and I am hoping it is a good one. It is a group of people from a church in Tinley Park. I dont know why I said yes, but i felt like my friend needed me there and I am going to support her. She is hosting and it's her first time ever doing that. It's also an opportunity to meet some new people.

Our son is graduating from Columbia in May and I am surprised at how expensive the flights to NYC are. Does anyone have a site they use that gives good prices? I've been looking at flights for a month hoping if I booked early we would get a great price. So far not so much

Well, my dear ones, have a great day today. I hear we are getting some ugly weather. Stay safe and warm

Sharon

Will it beep or something? (do not know)

Sharon-  I still hoard things to some degree...but no where like I used to.  You can't when you are living in a 1 bedroom apartment.  I was forced to get rid of so much stuff.  But yes I was the same way with canned foods and boxed foods.  But I just don't have the space in my kitchen for that anymore.  I still have too much for one person.

I think I know why I do this too.  My grandma was like this too.  She told me that people who lived through the depression tend to stock up on food because they knew how it felt to be without and they were afraid that a time would come when it might happen again and they will be ready this time if they stock up.  Well I think that the combination of my childhood and some VERY lean years when I was a teen mom and had no money for groceries.  I think I am always thinking I should have "extra" just in case.

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

I am at work wishing I was home snuggled in bed.  I think I am just a bit run down.  I am going to try to rest up this weekend.

Crystal, I am glad you were not hurt.  Tires and cars can be replaced, but you can't.

Not much else exciting is happening for me.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well it is back in the saddle and I am struggling.  I need caffeine or something!   A few days off and you feel like you are in a fog.

Crystal, I am so sorry about your tire rim.  What a bad stroke of luck.  However, you are a champion mouse slayer.  I am one who is skittish of mice.  I once pulled out a drawer in my house and a mouse hopped out.  I was on my front porch before I knew what happened.  Then I was like, I have to go back INSIDE with that mouse there?  What were my cats for.  Why were they shirking their duty????   I am not squeamish at most things.  I have even watched a pig being dissected but mice, snakes, bees and spiders -- Ugh!

Lisa, I hope you don't get laid off.  That would be the pits.  How will they use the money if no one is there to release it?  I love how the govt messes with people's lives.

Sharon, you are an energizer bunny.  You never stop going!

Dawn, you have had more than your share of bad luck this year.  Tell that cloud that you are under to take a hike.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Nancy-  I'm like you...whenever I have more than a few days off I always feel more run down than I did before I took the days off.  I feel extra lazy when I go back.  I think that's why I never take more than a couple days off at a time.  It's just to hard to go back to work!!!!

I'm not squeamish about dead things or if I have a weapon but I won't go near things if I think they will bite me and I have nothing to defend myself with.  Like snakes.  But I have no problems killing a snake and picking it up and throwing it away...hahaha...don't tell Amanda...Shhhh.  I also always end up getting stung by bees because I try to kill them rather than run away...I need to just run!!!

Amanda did take after me with the no fear of creatures thing...but she won't kill them.  When she is around I have to stand back because she will scoop up the spider and bring it outside.  She's such a good hearted person...I don't know how I raised her???
