Hello everyone

Is it Friday yet???

Yesterday at work was one of those days that was so busy that I looked up and half the day was gone and I looked up again and it was almost time to go.  I like days like that.  My day goes by so fast.  I had so much to do and I had more...but I had to go I had a doctor appointment.

Which by the way by appointment went well.  I actually lost 7 lbs since my last appointment!!!  Woohoo!!!  I am also on antibiotics, decongestant and steroids.  He did say my ears are infected and I have lots of fluid in them.  He said my sinuses are infected.  My throat looks irritated from the post nasal drip.  I told him I really don't feel sick just run down and tired.  He said if I gave it more time I would be sick..sick...sick.  So I got some medicine for that.

Yesterday after the doctor I spent the evening talking on the phone with an old friend.  I haven't talked to her in a long time and when we got to talking it was 2 hours later and we were still talking!!!  I almost never do that.  I am more of a text message or talk in person type person.  But it was nice to catch with her.

Well today I have nothing going but the usual...how about you guys????

I hope you guys enjoy the snow because we are getting a little more....have a good day...bye

Good Morning,

Congrats on the weight loss.It is a good thing that you went to the Dr.

I can get on the phone with old friends and talk like that. When Hubert asks what we talked about, I usually give him a blank stare. I tell him girl talk, of course.

I ended up sleeping most of the day yesterday. That is highly unusual for me. for some reason I was cold, and wanted to stay under the blanke****ching TV.

Today, it is work as usual. Then home.

have a great day,

Hugs,

LISA

Hello Illinoisans!

Back to the routine again. The luggage arrived at 9PM last night. So much for expedited luggage! Oh well, we certainly don't need summer clothes here! We had a great time but won't try such a big ship for a while. We love the small ones on the rivers of Europe. Those are the best! They just hold around 100 people and there are no standing in lines ever.

I need to go to the grocery store today and run a few errands, nothing much. Kay is teaching all week. Other than that we have no plans for a while.

Have a good day!

Connie

Hi Peeps!

Crystal, amazing that you dont feel like a train hit you. So happy for your 7 lb weight loss. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lisa, we too are thinking about a cruise. I havent been on one in 20 years and my hubby has never been on one. We are thinking of a Hawaiian cruise since that is our favorite place in the world. Grathell was in the air force and served in Asia. He has been everywhere, except Europe. I hope someday we can experience that together. I went to school in Germany for a semester and loved it there as well.

I have become a slave to a 2 oz piece of plastic I wear 24 hrs per day. It's called a Fitbit and it monitors everything I do;  food/calories, activity, sleep patterns, blood pressure.........At the end of the day it tells you if you completed the goals it has set for you based on what is considered a healthy lifestyle. Examples: walking 10,000 steps daily, climbing 10 staircases daily, drinking enough water, etc. It also tells you how many calories you have burned and how many miles you have walked.

So last night I popped the Fitbit onto the cradle connected to my computer so I can see how great I've done and I am shocked to see that I am 2000 steps under goal!!!! How can this be?!?!?!? I was at the gym for 2 hours. I was on the arc trainer and elipticle. I did lunges for 1/2 an hour........OMG. So since there is NO FRICKING WAY, this little plastic button is going to call me a failure, I got bundled up and took Suki for a long walk! Afterwards, I popped that little creep into the cradle and.....YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Victory!!!!!!!!!!!! 10,000 steps.  Fell into bed exhausted. The last thought I had as I said my prayers; "God, how do people who have full-time jobs stay in shape????"   Today I am cleaning and working out. Then I have house-group tonight. It is the start of the new season. When it ends it will be the middle of spring! Awesome.    Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Sharon

This is because it only monitors the physical action of walking on terra firma or walking up/down steps, which by the way you get credit for the floor climbed and the steps. You need to enter the other activity via the option called "Log Activity" located on your Dashboard. Browse through the list and pick out what you have done and add it. Also, keep in mind that when you are out walking in the neighborhood if you go up a hill that is taller then 10' you get credit for a flight of stairs. It calculates the elevation via barimetric pressure. Look through the help files under your name/profile. I found the logging of the sleep annoying at first but am used to it now.  I have the Fitbit One and Dave has my hand me down of the Ultra. I average close to 14,000 steps during the day with walking to/from work, walking at lunch and things around the house.

ps- you can edit the goals that you want to achieve. Go to your Dashboard and there is an edit option next to each goal.

As you can see above I have very little time lately to even come in here and read much less post. I spend a big portion of my day gaining steps, working, home life, family, going to events we are invited to, serving at church etc.

I have the nature center out the back door of my work and I walk it at lunch, have just enough time to come back in & heat my lunch and take it back to my desk. There is a large man made hill that equals 3 flights of stairs. I also will walk in the close by houses and there are natural formed hills and I usually gain about 5 flights of stairs with them. I have several routes mapped out that are from 1-1.25 miles in length. It goes through nice nature areas where I can get away from things and into my own thoughts. On the weekend I do a lengthier walk from home that is close to 3 miles both days usually but sometimes it ends up only being one day. Dave and I will also go out and walk the loop of our local streets and one time around is equal to 3/4 of a mile.
