Friday Roll Call

Hello everyone

Happy Friday all....but it is snowing right now...YUCK!!!  I am just so glad I don't have a long commute to work any more.  Gone are the days where it would take me over an hour or longer to get to work/home because of snow.  That really was a pain and it was stressful.  I had so many close calls over the years.

I have been having good workouts this week but I have been going to bed early.  At about 9:30-10 I am pooped and go to bed.  I don't fight it either.  I just wrap things up and go to bed.  So I have been sleeping really well.

Well today after work I have a bunch of errands to run (my normal Friday running around...I save most of errands for Fridays and Saturdays) and Chipotle and working out.  I probably won't sit back and relax till after 9-10pm tonight.  What are you guys up to today???

I knew I was in trouble when my lab came in this morning covered in  snow. She rolled in it. Then I thought,  how often in a January, have I said to myself, "Oh we got snow?"  Our winter has been amazing. So mild. (sorry Crystal)

I was out in the cold all day yesterday. I love working outside. I am really enjoying this job. God has blessed me. Yesterday, I had about 75% bankruptcy foreclosures. That means I dont make contact because they are protected by bankruptcy laws. So I was able to complete my job so much faster. i just have to snap a photo and use the hand-held.

Today I am off and I am going to go to the gym and run a few errands. Easy Peasy Day.

Sharon- See and I always feel bad for outside workers in the cold (or the sweltering heat too).  I sit right by the door so when ever the FedEx guy or the mail lady comes in I always offer them some candy (cause we have a ton)...because I feel bad for them...bacause they look so miserable.  The mail lady always takes some candy...hahaha!!!  They do complain about the cold...espeacially Monday and Tuesday.

We are getting some stuff too. It is suppose to end by 9a.m. You are right Sharon, it is after all  January.

Crystal, a long commute really sucks . When I go to Ottawa, it is a straight road, so the snow fly's across it, and it is hard to see the road. Then a truck comes the other way, and blinds you.

I  will be heading there in an hour or so, I have a Dr. appointment at 9:45. Then, I am heading to one of my favorite stores to look for a new sweater or  sweatshirt to wear tonight. I then want to go find the house where the party is tonight.

Lisa-  Oh I had the same problem on my commute when I lived in Oswego.  There were the roads where there were corn fields on either side of the road...so no matter how many times they plowed the wind would just blow the snow right back over the road again.  So I always hated the light fluffy snow...the heavy wet snow was always preferred...it doesn't drift.   

Good Morning Everyone

Yep, the white stuff is here. It was a little slippery on the way to work as my traction control kicked in.  I am so bummed.  I keep ordering boots and they dont fit.  The first pair they sent the wrong size and the second pair is the right size but they do not open up enough for my arch to fit in them.  So I have no boots.  GRRR.  I started ordering these on Black Friday to be prepared  for winter and I am flunking the course.  My first order got lost and then I had to wait for the replacement order.  Sigh.

Dawn, I dont want to escape to New Orleans.  Between the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras there will be huge crowds and I HATE crowds.  So I will pass on it.  Besides, Rick and I do not drink and the last time I was in New Orleans and went up to the hotel concierge and asked what to do in the town if you dont drink, I got a blank look. 

Rick has gone to retrieve Gage.  He will be with us through Monday.  He will go to Augustana tomorrow for an activity.

Crystal, I am so glad you no longer have a long commute.  Most of my work life I have lived just a short distance from my office.  I love it!  Only once in my early career did I have a commute and I did not like it at all.

I had no idea that both Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl were happening that weekend.  You are right---TOO MANY PEOPLE.  Todd wants to go to Mardi Gras, but I would pass.

I can think of lots to do in New Orleans without drinking though.

The sun is shining and melting the snow!  Yippee!

I just got back from lunch with David.  It seems that he is seriously thinking of coming home and getting his life together.  I am wondering if I can trust that, or if it is just so much talk.    He is coming home for the weekend at least too see some friends in our area.  I told him that his room is now a guest room, and I suppose he can be the first guest.  I also told him that he can only come back if he is SERIOUS about getting a job and being part of the family.  If not, he can stay where he is.

So....that is my excitement for today.  That, and I think I have another urinary infection, so I am stopping by the doc on my way home to have it checked out.

We may go to dinner tonight, Riley is coming tomorrow and I am hoping to see a good friend sometime this weekend.
