Tuesday Roll Call

I have been wanting to climb in a hole lately.

Ravens win was nice though.

I have not even written any new code in the past few days.

Need to pay some bills and go to Walgreens today so I guess I can listen to lectures and do some coding today.

Pong is in fairly good shape except I would like the games to end better but the course did not call for it and I am not sure there is a command to keep the picture on longer after it ends.

Asteroids will be next in that course and I am going to take one more basic course because the prof is trying out his own online teaching software and I have already written most of the programs if he does not change them.

What are the rest of us doing today?

Good Morning,

Randy, your blue mood is normal this time of year. Everyone hats to be stuck in the house and not really wanting to do anything, but we all have things to do. I am sure Connie could explain it better.

Connie, you and Kay have a blast on your next cruise.

I stayed in yesterday, and watched some of the festivities from Washington. Worked on a rug and did some pickup. Today. I will venture out in the cold and go to work.

Hugs,

LISA

Hi Randy,

It sounds like you are experiencing the Winter Blues. Our pastor talked about it on Sunday because so many folks have asked him to pray for them. Apparently, not even our mild weather before this week, prevents it. I usually get it mid-February. I always call it  spring fever. It lasts about 2 weeks and then I am fine.

I have to say the Ravens kicked Tom Brady's behind. I was impressed. I hope they trounce San Francisco.

If I could retire anywhere it would be from 12/26 through 04/01. I would live in Glendale AZ.  I love baseball and would go to see the Sox in spring training everyday. I'm a die hard Cubs fan too, so if it were a real fantasy I would alternate between Glendale and Mesa.

I finally cracked the 100 pound mark. I was beginning to think the scale would never move south. I steadily lost inches during the long stall which is what kept me going. I am sad to admit I am a slave to that scale.

I worked yesterday and froze my pattutti off.  I am amazed how many McMansions are in foreclosure. I was in Lemont all day yesterday. The economy has really hit that town hard. Many businesses have closed including a bowling alley that was in business for over 40 years. Even the Wendy's shut down. But there is a new giant Goodwill I will have to check out.

Yesterday I did something I have never done in my entire adult life. I renewed my gym membership. HAHAHAHA. They even gave me a discount. I'm not a resident but they found some loop hole to give me. That was so nice of them. I did not even ask,

Today I am off so I am going to make a pot roast, clean up around here, go to the bank and then go work out.

Have a great day, everyone!

Sharon

Sharon-  Congrats on your 100 lbs.  mark!!!  I guess if we get to retire the way we want we would end up neighbors...when we're old we could visit each other!!!  hahaha!!!!

Mmmm...pot roast sounds yummy.  But I am trying to limit my red meat and I eat Chipotle every week.  One of these days I will have someone to cook a pot roast for.  Maybe???

Hello everyone

I had an easy day at work yesterday because I forgot the banks and post office was closed.  So today will be busy for me.  Kind getting double the work today.  Other than work and working out I have nothing going on.

I'm with you Randy...for me it's the Winter.  I just want to climb into bed and not get out till April.  Since Saturday I have not had any motivation to do anything.  I have been making myself get up and do things.  But oh how I would love to lay on the couch with some pizza and watch TV all day!!!!

You want to hear something weird.  I am getting really interested in automotive maintenance.  I bought a book tailored to my car and have been watching videos online.  I have always found cars interesting (you can thank my Ex for that) but I guess lately I have been thinking I can do some of my own simpler stuff.  So when it gets a lot warmer outside I am going to try my hand at changing my own oil.  It really is pretty straight forward.  I used to watch my dad and my Ex do it.  The only thing I was unsure about was locating my oil plug and filter and lifting my car.  But I have those issues taken care of now....so there you go.  I am also going to replace my own spark plugs too.  These are pretty basic things.  Wait till I try replacing belts and hoses...now some of those look interesting.....hahaha.  I know this a weird thing for me to be interested in.  I guess I have been really bored lately and I'm trying to find something to do with myself.  This is something I can do outside and enjoy the weather.

I was watching on the news how doctors should be screening their patients for domestic violence.  This made me giggle because if I had a problem with this...I think my problems have more to do with mental disorders then domestic violence...since I live alone.  I know I have a weird sense of humor.  Only I would giggle at a domestic violence clip.

Time to get going and I'm not looking forward to walking out in that cold either....stay warm...have a good day...bye

Morning Everyone!

Baby it is cold outside!  indecision   I ventured out to go to work and even though my car had been running for 15 minutes it was not warm.  Heat never really came on before I got to work.  Sigh.  It would have helped if I had remembered to start it earlier.  Oh well.  I found some ear muffs last night and some heavier gloves before I went to my doctors appointment.  That helps!

I am like the rest of you -- I would rather hibernate inside.  The bears have the right idea -- sleep through winter.  Are we related to them in any way?  Rick has started calling Oreo the  Chunky Munkey as her fur has really thickened and she has really packed on the pounds in preparation for winter.  She is eating twice the amount she normally does.  She is being a little oinker.  And no she is not pregnant as I took care of that several years ago.

I think most of us are in the mood to go to work and then come home where it is toasty warm.  No outside activities unless it is absolutely required.  At least I get that way in the winter as well.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Nancy-  Wow it takes a long time for your car to warm up.  How long does it take you to get work?  Because I am bad and almost never let my car warm up.  Today I let it warm for about 3-4 minutes (the time it took for me to scrape my windows and situate myself in the car).  Then it takes me about 4 minutes to get to work and my car was toasty warm already.  I didn't want to get out of my car when I got there...because it was sooo cold out there!!!

Crystal

My remote starter runs for about 10 minutes.  I usually have a VERY toasty car in the mornings.  It takes me about 8 minutes to get to work.  This morning it seems like the car was just getting heat as I got to work.  I dont know why it was so cold this morning and taking so long to warm up!  Maybe it was protesting too!

Hi friends,

Well I went out today because I wanted to be in the sunshine even if it was cold. A friend of mine on FB referred to her heavy winter coat as "the outrageously obnoxious parka" and I could also describe mine that way. It is a fitted down coat with a hood  but it is really warm. I look like a black snowman in it but it is so warm I really don't care.Kay went to Rockford Art Deli to get Rockford T shirts for the cruise. We were each able to get a different one. I went to the Bookworm to knit but ended up talking to my son on the phone. I didn't get much knitting done. Oh well. It was fun to talk to my son. He's getting ready to move to Arkansas to be closer to his daughter. It looks like it will be in March and we will meet him in Arkansas to help him get settled.

Seems like everyone is trying hard to stay warm, only a few more days and it will be better (though not really warm, just warmer than today).

Connie
