Monday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I stayed in yesterday. I did workout and do laundry but other than that I was in all day.
I was saying on Facebook how when I am folding my laundry I still can't get over how small my clothes look. I know I fit in them because was just wearing them...but I still have to pinch myself. It's kind of like a too good to be true moment...every time. I almost feel like I'm folding Amanda's jeans. I don't know when that will ever stop. At least now when I am folding clothes in public I am no longer embarrassed. I used to fold my clothes as secretly as possible because they were sooo big. But now I just want to wave my jeans around and say "yep look at these little jeans they are mine and I can fit in them!!!" hahahaha!!!
Today would be a good day to stay in too. Brrrr...it's cold out there!!! I really, really wi**** was June!!! When we would walk to school and it was really cold we would do this mind over matter thing. We would imagine ourselves on a warm beach in Hawaii, the sun is shining. This was supposed to warm us up....so lets all do this today. Ok we are all on a warm beach in Hawaii!!!! I hope it works better than it did when we were kids!!!
So what are your plans today? Mine are the same. Mondays are my busy day...work, work, work!!! And I'm taking a day off working out.
Have a good day...stay warm...bye
Good Morning Crystal and Illinois Friends
Brr it is cold outside! However memories were brought back on the news to the year of 1985 when it was minus 20 degrees without the wind chill! I remember that so well. That was the year my dad was sick and then died. It was so bitter cold. Cars were freezing and even if you had a good battery you often needed a jump start. I hope we don't EVER get that cold again.
Today is work and then a doctor's appointment at 6:00. I may cancel if I am too cold. Next week sounds better to me. It should be warmer then.
Gage will be coming at the end of the week. He has another event at Augustana this weekend. It is some kind of activity where he can win even more money for college. We hope he wins big!
Today should be quiet at work.
Crystal I am jealous of your small clothes. I used to look at my mom's and think "how can she fit in these?" Whenever we went anyplace she had a tiny suitcase and I had a big one to fit my clothes in. Even now when I do my laundry I think the same thing that these clothes are too small.
Sharon, I am soooo glad your hubby went with you yesterday. That is scary to find people living in homes when they are supposed to be vacant.!
Dawn, I hope everything is ok with you.
Chris, where are you?
Lisa, how does your week stack up?
Randy you too have been mia for a few days. Are you ok?
Connie, stay inside. IT is so cold outside!
Georgie, I hope all is ok with you too.
Kevin and Steven, hope both of you are doing ok and staying warm as well.
Everyone have a great day!

Nancy- I remember the subzero days (in 1985 I was 13 and I would have walked to school that day) and the huge snow days....and I walked to school in them all...unless they called school off...but back then they didn't do it as often as they do now. I swear the kids now are so "soft". I remember walking to school in the street because the snow was so deep the only way I could walk was to walk in the tire ruts...hahaha!!! I remember walking when it was so cold we would walk backwards so the wind would be at our backs. I didn't have a hat and my ears would hurt from the wind blowing in them...I would stuff kleenex in them. Or we would put our books inside our coat so we could hold them with our hands in our pockets...that way we didn't have to have our hands in the cold holding them...and bonus the books gave us an extra barrier to the wind. I also came up with this bright idea once to put baggies over my feet and then put my shoes on and that way my feet would stay dry...and they did but the problem was I either would have to wear the baggies on my feet all day or come to school and take off the baggies and slip my nice dry feet into my cold wet shoes...so that idea was a bust. Oh I hated Winter...I still do.
Oh and it didn't get better when you got to school, because once you got to school all of the snow on your shoes, socks, pants...melted and you spent half of the day cold and wet!!!! YUCK!!!!
Good Morning,
I guess we could pretend the small amount of snow we got was sand.
After we got home from breakfast yesterday, i did something I never do. I cuddled up on the recliner and went to sleep for 2 hours. The weekend wiped me out.
Today, I am going to pick up the house, make some chicken soup. I really don't care for the canned kind, since its loaded with salt and preservatives. Not sure whats for dinner yet.
This week I have a doctor appointment on Friday, and a party Friday evening (girls only).I am looking forward to that. Then, on Sat. we are attending my sisters 40th anniversary party in Havanna.
Please stay safe and warm if you go out. January has arrived in force.
Hugs,
LISA
Good morning friends,
I am going out to knit (is that nuts?) There's a Monday group but if no one else shows up I'll go back home. Kay and I need to get Rockford T-shirts to wear on the cruise--"show your roots day". I wish I'd had a T-shirt made that said St. Louis, Carbondale, Rockford. I think it's too late to have one made. Oh well. If I could exaggerate a bit I'd add (Madison) to it because I think I live in Madison and only have a house in Rockford. Wishful thinking on my part.
Yesterday I did essentially nothing. It was a great day. I didn't get dressed; I took two naps, read a book and watched a Law and Order: SVU marathon. Great day!
I have a few things to do today to get ready for the cruise but I'm thinking I can do that this afternoon. My clothes are smaller too and easier to pack.
Stay warm. This is a day for down coats if you have one!

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!
I am back at work, as usual and YES, it is cold. I remember 1985 because my engine actually FROZE in my car and I had to have it replaced. Now THAT's COLD! At least this will only be a few days.
I spent the weekend cleaning out David's "cave". He has been gone for 3 weeks this time and when the grandkids were over Friday night, they said that his room "smells". I carted all his crap off his floor up to the attic changed the bedding and shampooed the carpet. I added an air freshener and wa-la! A room worthy of company. I will leave his bookshelves and dresser for a while ****il I get tired of looking at them.....or he comes to retrieve them) then we may turn it into a craft/guest room.
In between cleaning, Todd took me to see "Silver Linings Playbook" and to dinner on Saturday and lunch yesterday. The movie was good, I cried at the end.
I am thinking about joining "Planet Fitness" here in Rockford. It is about a half mile from my office and inexpensive. I just need to get motivated to get out of bed EARLY as working out for me only seems to "work" if I do it first thing.
Working at the airport tonight too.
Gotta get back. Everyone stay warm!
Hi Crystal and the rest of my OH friends, I really hate this cold weather yuk. I have been enjoying my 3 days off. Be keeping very active. I can't wait until March I have a vacation and I am going down to Florida to visit family.
I have decided when I retire I moving some way warmer than Illinois.
