Thursday Roll Call
Yep lots of wackos out here! Funny, Nancy.
I am not sure what eating around your surgery is like but I do know I was feeling so normal the last two days I went ahead and ate the pizza provided at Agile and Postgres meetings. Tuesday night I did that with a pizza that had a fairly fluffy crust. Last night it was crust from Giordonnos that was almost like a cracker. Felt ok at the meeting but when I left the building I was afraid I was going to die. I got so hot that I took off my coat and it was right at freezing there on Jackson. I walked around the corner and stopped and backed off the first step up to the brown line and waited a bit. Went up to the first landing and stopped again. Five or six folks past me. I went on up to the platform and was wiping sweat off by face with my coat off and short sleeves and my vest opened sat for a good while watching folks come up bundled up and go huddle under the lights. The train came and I got on it and rode it to Irving Park. Normally I would get off at the Thompson and transfer to the blue line. Getting off I was still not feeling great but I did have to put on coat and went back inside for a bit while waiting on the bus. Home. I was tired but feeling almost normal again.
What are the rest of we wackos and the normals doing today?
Hello everyone
Well like always things just sort of pop on me. I ended up working over time at work. That project I was working on Last month. Well I thought it was a once a year thing. It turns out it's something we do every time one of the unions change their rates. I didn't know that. So I don't have as much work to do as last time because I have all of the spreadsheets all set up all I have to do is plug in the data. Funny I am doing it all this time and not that other gal.
My friend Monica didn't come to work yesterday because she has an ear infection...funny how we both suffer from them. We are the only adults I know of that have chronic problems with ear infections...it's usually a childhood problem. For me it's always a secondary infection. Whenever I get sick with a sinus infection, allergies or something else...it always goes to my ears too. It's very painful.
After work, I got home later than usual...I still got my workout in....I was so tempted to slack off too.
Today I will be working overtime again to finish the project, then working out...that's it for me. What are all of you up to today???
Sharon- I was thinking about Winter and even when I was a kid I really didn't like it. I had a very long walk to school and I was so miserable walking to school in the freezing cold...not to mention I never had everything I needed to fight the weather (boots, mittens, hat). My parents didn't buy me that stuff. It was just so much nicer and pleasant to walk to school in the Fall and Spring. So I never enjoyed Winter (except when I was 350 lbs)!!!
Randy- I hope you are feeling a bit better. I am assuming what you are describing is dumping from the crust. WOW...that sounds awful. A sure fire deterrent from pizza that's for sure. Sometimes I wish I had a deterrent like that...especially where I work!!!
Well I better get ready for work....have a good day all...see ya all later...bye
Crystal,
I, too, am prone to ear problems. I had bad infections when I was a kid. I have a deviated septum and always have sinus/ear issues. Now that i swim it is worse. BUT, I have found an amazing method of getting rid of the ear pain. I get chiro adjustments. It really works. I learned about this when my grand-daughter who was 1 at the time, got tons of ear infections. My daughter took Anneliese to a chiro who told her it is because we are out of alignment and the fluid builds up in our inner -ears. Now Anneliese gets regular adjustments and she never gets them anymore. I have sent 2 people to this chiro whose kids were going to get tubes in their ears due to ear infections. Both never had to after getting adjustments. You may want to consider this. Feel better! Sharon
Hi Randy and Crystal and all my favorite IL Peeps,
Randy, we are 2 peas in a pod. I dont know what possessed me, but i ate a slice of pizza about 7pm last night and got as sick as a dog. I experienced the exact same thing as you and was up all night until I finally vomited. OMG it was bad. Wont ever be doing that again. My husband thought it was the flu. But instead, it was a WLS patient not following the rules and I know better.
Crystal, I wish I had known you when you were a child. I would have loved to be your mom. You deserved better parents than you had. And you have a done an amazing job at life and being a mom in spite of your parents. When Katie, my daughter was little, I used to take my daughter to under-ground wacker in Chicago to dispense bundles of blankets, gloves and hats to the homeless people to help them stay warm thru the winter. It never occured to me to bring mittens, hats and scarves to the public schools for the kids whose parents didnt buy any for their own kids. That makes me sad. I wish now I had. It's never too late!
Today I am working (yeah!!!!) and then going to the gym.
Have a great day all!
Sharon
Randy...I never knew that. I always get rid of mine after they start getting dingy. They are perfectly fine...I just have this weird thing about bright white socks. So every 4-6 months or so, when my socks start getting dingy I get rid of them and buy 2-3 new packs. It never occurred to me that someone would want my used socks!!! I know, I know I'm weird. But I really like brand new looking socks!!!! I wonder where I could take my used socks for the homeless in Joliet?? I have big feet (a size 12 in women, 10 in men) so a man could probably use them too.
Good Morning,
Randy, you were dumping. Not because of the pizza, but the crust of it. To much bread. Even with the Lapban, if I eat a full peice of any bread, it comes backon me.
Crystal, You made it out of that hellhole of a home and parents, You should be proud of the way you turned out,and for the way you raised Amanda.
Sharon, you are a very understanding, lovable , person. Thank you for being you.
Dawn and Nancy, Don't overdo it at work. You both still aren't 100 %.
Christine, come out and play with us. Kevin, you too.
today is going to be full for me. Working until 4, then I need to get to the store, come home make 10# of BBQ for Saturday, start on another project and ork on the rug I want to give a frind who is spending the weekend with us.
Life is normal.
Hugs, LISA
The first night I did not eat the crust and got by ok.
I had a protein drink I bought at Walgreens before I went.
The second night the pieces were cut square and much smaller so yes I suspected the crust.
I found my favorite marinade at Dominicks on Halstead before the first meeting so I am itching to go get another brisket to use it on in the oven.
