Wednesday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I'm glad the week is half over. I'm looking forward to the weekend. No reason just like doing my own thing.
I have said it once and I will say it again and again...till Summer time!!! I hate Winter...I hate this cold...I hate that it gets dark at 5pm!!! I hate this!!! I want warmth...bright sunny days that last onto the evening...I want flowers and green grass and leaves...and even a few mosquitos!!! I want to sit by my pool with a cold drink and a good book on a warm breezy day......ahhhh!!!! OK I'm done...I needed that.
That guy is still flirting...oh well. He doesn't make me uncomfortable...I just don't like him. My friend thinks it's funny. I guess it is on one level because he thinks he's such a playboy and I am not caring less. And she said it's cracking her up.
The new and improved workout is going well. I just had to get over the hump. Since I do my workout on the elliptical I just increase the tension. It really does make a difference. Then towards the end of my cardio workout I triple the tension for 15 minutes to work out my leg muscles...and boy you can really feel it. It's funny how you have to constantly find ways to change things up and make it tougher or it gets too easy . I was also kicking around the idea of trying out that Insanity workout again. I know I tried it last year and my muscles were sore for days and I could barely move....but I have lost 30lbs since then...maybe that will make a difference. And it's quite a workout....only problem is I am not much of a workout at home type of person.
So what are you all doing today? Me...same old thing...work...workout...dinner. Nothing going on here.
Well time to get my but ready for work...have a good day...bye
Crystal, you manage to get more adventure out of a day than most of us! I have my usual Wednesday today, breakfast and then knitting, both with friends. Other than that, not much going on.
I happen to love the winter, love the snow and can handle the cold. I'm so not a summer person. Yesterday I enjoyed the sunshine and hope for more today. I've noticed the days are getting longer too.
Have a good day everyone!

HI Crystal, Connie and All,
I think day light savings time begins on the first Sunday in March. So 6 more weeks of darkness. Thankfully Feb is a short month. Although it never feels shorter to me. I love the 4 seasons. I enjoy the cold and the warm. Must be either the Indian in me or the German. My father was Cherokee. His mom was born on a reservation and my dad loved all 4 seasons as well. My mom was from the Alps in Germany and loved the winter. She loved to ice skate and ski. She used to bundle us up in the winter and we played for hours in the snow. I love getting all bundled up and walking in the icy weather. I cant walk at night anymore, because I cannot catch my breath from the cold. That freaks me out. I dont recall that happening when I was a youngin'.
I, too, went thru a period earlier this month where I had to up my workouts. I was having a difficult time getting my heart-rate up to fat burning mode with the aerobics class I was taking. I changed it up as well and love the burn. Our bodies get used to the new work outs fast. I'm amazed this old bod still bounces back. When do you feel the muscle achiness, Crystal? I usually get mine about 6 hours later. By morning, I am fine again. I, too, prefer to not work out at home. I have no motivation at home. I love going to the gym. I go to Tinley Park Fitness. It has a very liberal aquatics program with all day free swim. Since I swim everyday it works with my schedule. Challenge in Lockport did not have a robust pool program so I had to find something else.
My hubby gave me cash for my birthday so I bought myself new work out clothes. I got a great no bounce bra and a pair of compression pants. Unfortunately, the pants are too big. I went by the size chart's measurements and even went down one size and the stupid things are too big. I was so bummed yesterday. I even paid for next day mail to get them. Now I have to go to UPS today to send them back
I need compression pants so everything doesnt flop (especailly my tummy) while I am running on the treadmill. It is so embarrassing to feel it moving in the opposite direction of my movements. At least my boobs wont be anymore. The dudes at the gym just sit on the machines and stare at my boobs. You'd think I was 25 not 55! Men are so weird and such pervos at my gym. Especially the old pervos.
Well, I am off to start my hump day. Does anyone have any suggestions for dinner tonight. I made tacos last night. I was thinking of a hearty soup. I am trying to eat more beef........
Have a great day my dear ones!
Sharonps....I HATE mosquitos because they LOVE me......
As far as the Pervs at the gym. I agree!!! I had one guy sit on the stationary bike next to me and just stare... I knew this because I could see him in the reflection of the window. He didn't even take off
His coat!!!! I just ignore them and keep on going. Whatever... Look all you want. At least most of the time I'm by myself in my gym.
Good Morning,
It is not only Wednesday, but the 16th. That means we are over 1/2 way through January! It also means the holidays are fading fast. Plus, its one day closer to spring.
Today will be a repeat of yesterday, the same for tomorrow.
Sharon, Dr. Guskie suggested the RNY. I know that doesn't make some people happy with that decision, but I will follow his advice. I will find out for sure on the 28th.
Here is hoping that everyone is feeling better and that the rest of us don't get whatever i going around.
Hugs
LISA
Hi Lisa,
I do not think it is anyone's business if you get RNY. WLS is such a personal thing, nobody should care one way or the other what you decide. It is your body, your journey and your life. I had so many angels in the hospital who cared for me after my surgery that had RNY. They were so happy with their decision. Do what makes you happy. Screw everyone's negativity.
I hope you get to have it.
Hugs,
Sharon
Good Morning Everyone!
I am feeling much better today than I have for days! I did stay home again today as I could not make it up for more than a few hours without going to bed again yesterday. Today I awoke refreshed and feeling like my old self. I plan to return to work tomorrow.
I am so mad at my work I could scream! They were on me for getting sick so often and made me get FMLA papers and today they tried to state this was not an FMLA related illness. I bluntly told the HR director I do not even have to tell them what is wrong with me so how can it NOT be FMLA. I went through all the hoops for them and now they are trying to not let me use it GRRRR!!! . They then sad they did not want me bac****il I felt better and that they were excepting the flu from all abscenses and this would not count against us. Either way, whether it is FMLA or not, I have to use my days of sick leave. So what is the difference to them! Geesh, I just think that it is their mindset to hassle employees. Now they are also telling me if it lasts more than 3 days I have to get additional paperwork from the doctor.
After I scraped myself off the ceiling, I am planning to go into hr and ask just what paperwork they want. I have a doctors visit coming up and we can amend this to STOP all this messing around.
Crystal and Sharon, I admire both of you for your working out and increasing the intensity.
Connie, happy knitting.
Lisa, keep warm and enjoy work. I have my fingers crossed for success at a revision. The surgery that you choose has to meet your lifestyle. Dont let anyone make you feel bad about your choices. It is your body and you have to live with it.
Sharon, when did we miss your birthday?
Randy, If you are strange, then there are a whole bunch of us that are wackos out there.
Have a great day!
