Sunday Roll Call
Good Morning!
I did something grand yesterday....I washed my car. I know that doesn't sound very grand, but being that it is the middle of January and I have never been able to do that before, I thought it was a hoot.
Yesterday was a lovely day. My hubby and I went into the city to eat lunch at my favorite Puerto Rican restaurant, Cafe Central. We have been going there for 15 years and all the ladies know us. I ate all my faves...well I tasted them and then brought all my food home because that s what we do. I'll have food for days. There are certain things i cannot eat much of anymore. One of them is rice. I can only eat about a tablespoon, if I eat more I get very uncomfortable. Are there any foods you have a hard time tolerating since surgery? I also cannot eat pork or drink much milk. I wish I was one of those people that can't eat sweets, but unfortunately I do not have that problem. I had dulce de papaya for dessert. Yum.
Today I am up early because I was freezing in bed last night...I guess the cold front must have arrived.I got up to flip the heat higher and figured may as well just stay up.
Today is church and then who knows. Not much planned.
I worked on Friday and it seems like a good part-time job. I get to stay close to home. I have to drive to a house, see if there is any sign of inhabitance, document it by answering about 20 questions that pertain to the property on a hand-held, place a placard on their front door knob, take 2 photos and then transmit the information to the lender when I find a hot spot. It is not a bad job. I did get one disgruntled man, but I did my best to stay cool calm and appear unafraid. I let him rant a bit and then got out of Dodge. The only down side is you never know until the day before if they need you. So, I cant plan anything. Since I am a plotter and a planner that bugs me a bit, but I can live with it.
I got a letter yesterday about jury duty, so I think that may be in my not too distant future. The letter asked when i can do it? I've never been asked when i could do it. But in the past I lived in Cook County, and there they don't ask, they tell you when they want you. In Will, they ask , when is the best month for you to attend jury duty? Ha. That was nice of Will to ask.
Everyone, please have a warm, safe day.
Blessings and hugs,
Sharon
Good Morning.
Sharon, I love your posts. Between you and Crystal, reading this blog is really nice,
No snow, and very little ice. I think I was up over half of the night, looking outside. Now, if I can ask for prayers, we have 2 family things for the next 2 Saturdays, both out of town, so we would like to get to them, with no snow if possible.
Today, I have a few things to do. Monica and Scott will be stopping by.Then the rest of the day will be quiet.
Have a great day,
Hugs,
LISA
Hello everyone
Yesterday was a blur of activity from the time I got up to about 9pm. Things have a way of popping up. Remember how I was saying Amanda found an internet cafe that had webcams and we could possibly video chat. Well all of the sudden she texts me to tell me she wants to video chat me @ 10 (in 40 minutes)!!! I just got done working out and I was a mess!!! I didn't want her to see me like that!!! We haven't seen each other since September...I didn't want our first time seeing each other and I'm a mess. I showered, got dressed, did my hair and make up in lightening speed. Then I was ready and then there was issues and we never got it going . That is how the whole morning went. I also never got to the post office either because I had to run the grocery store because when I was making dinner yesterday morning I realized my minced garlic went bad and I had to run out and buy garlic!!! So one thing after another happened. So the packaged will get mailed tomorrow.
After all of that I too cleaned my car!!! Sharon..great minds think alike. I also got the filter in. I said I was going to do last week but I did it yesterday. It was so easy, I can't believe Jiffy Lube was going to charge me $40 for that crap. I removed my glove compartment and popped the filter in and put my glove compartment back on...DONE!!! My neighbors are probably thinking I'm Mrs Fix it...between the tire and the filter and the light bulb....hahaha. But when it comes to filters, bulbs and wiper blades...I do those myself to save money.
Dinner went well. Brenda and Manny are great company. Funny enough we talked a lot about music and TV shows. Of course there was some talk about hot guy...because you can hear him moving around upstairs. I always feel funny talking about him...like he can hear us. I feel like I have to whisper...hahaha!!! They were laughing at me because I kept whispering.
Today...I am driving to Fox Valley to Macy's to buy some of my favorite make up (Joliet doesn't carry it). And since I'm out that way I am going to go to Whole Foods and pick up some more fruit and veggies and make more smoothies for the week to freeze. And of course it's laundry day. Oh and of course I am going to go workout too.
Well time to get going I am going to eat my breakfast and workout. Be careful out there...it's icy. See ya later gator. BYE!!!
You make me laugh!!!!! You have an amazing way of making everything you say, come to life.
I could just see you running around getting ready for your first video chat date.....with your daughter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, I can see you whispering in your apartment, like Hot Guy can actually hear you.. HAHAHAHAHHAHA
And great minds do think alike, I just got home from Whole Foods....
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Sharon
Good morning!
Today we'll put in another hour in the basement. It's really almost done which feels really good and not surprisingly there's a lot of room down there now that it's clean. Ah well, as NPR says "you learn something new every day"!I think there is an SVU marathon on TV today which will be a great background for knitting. I ought to go to CVS but maybe won't go out today.
Tomorrow we go to Madison to see Dr. Garren. My fistulas are leaking significantly less and I might even believe they will eventually close which I was having trouble believing. Still, we'll have to take a suitcase of bandages on the trip like we did last time. Since we love to go to Madison we'll probably stop at Verona for yarn and maybe hit Brasserie V for lunch. We never have trouble finding things to do in Madison!
My life isn't as eventful as some of you experience. It's interesting reading, though, keeping up with all of you!
