Pong is on the way today or tomorrow.
Too bad some are too young to know what Pong is.
How are the rest of the surgically better than most folks of Illinois?
Good Morning,
Hubby and I spent a good day yesterday in Moline/Rock Island. Didn't win, but it was fun. We wanted to go to the Machine Shed for dinner, but they were closed. I was really looking forward to that. But, any tim I can spend the day with Hubert is a great day.
How did you spend New Years Day?
I have to work the next 2 days, then off again until tuesday,
Nancy, what a great thing you and Rick did.
Off to work. Hugs,
LISA
Good Morning Randy and Illinois Friends
Baby, it's COLD outside. What a rude wake up call on the way to work. Brrr.
Yesterday was a fun day. Rick and I served lunch at the PADS Shelter. That was fun. We made sandwiches and soup. I got a kick out of one of the volunteers. Rick and I wanted to give the residence a choice of what they wanted on their sandwiches and she kept trying to make sandwiches in advance. IT only takes a minute to put a sandwich together and what is better than having a sandwich the way YOU want it. We practically had to tie her hands behind her back to keep her from putting sandwiches together.
We came home and I looked on line and discovered that Lincoln was still playing at our local theater. We had never gotten to see it so we went to the 4:30 showing. When we got there we found out there was no heat in that particular movie but we went anyway. It was not too bad -- around 64 degrees. We just wore our sweaters. The movie was good. Even though you knew how it ended, it kept you involved. It made me realize that congress has never changed and it is still the same pork trading today as it was then. Sigh.
Today it is back to work. It was such a relaxing day yesterday I guess I am ready for another 3 days of work. I hope everyone has a great day!
Congrats to NIU for winning their bowl game! I am proud to be an NIU alumn!

Hello everyone
I had a very laid back day yesterday. I didn't go anywhere or really do anything. I did workout. I was the only one in the gym. I was happy about that.
I have no big plans today...work of course. I will go pick up some groceries and workout. I have some dinner in the crockpot. So I am set for the day.
Stay warm and have a good day...see ya later...bye
Thanks for the wishes for health - I still need them. Sick with a nasty head cold that might be bordering on a sinus infection. I refuse to go to urgent care up here like I did last year because I have to pay the first $200 out of my own pocket now. I will eventually will need to go to a doc for normal med things but do not need the expense right now.
I have been struggling with a couple of upper resipitory things since before Christmas but this second one is kicking my butt.
We came up to the Dells yesterday morning, went for Bfast, lounged in the room, read and had super appetizers at a restaurant next to the hotel. Will be here until Sunday morn.

"surgically better" That made me giggle a bit.
Spent yesterday all day either in front of some college game on tv or in the kitchen helping my sister-in-law prepare the meal. It was a quiet, relaxing day that ended with the NIU win!!!!!!!!!!! Nobody believed they were going to beat Florida, so that was so cool.
My brother and his wife have a ton of deer that come up to their patio and munch on the bird feeder. Last night my brother did not notice the deer on his deck and when he opened the door to grill something his cat took off after the deer. I could not believe the audacity of this little cat chasing the deer over the river and thru the woods...literally! It took an hour to finally snag the cat and that was only after he realized the deer were not catchable. He promptly laid down by the fire and slept the rest of the night. What is so funny is this cat has never been outside.
That was my excitement for the first day of 2013.
Had to go to the vet this morning because I thoguth my Maine Coon might have a urinary infection. Thankfully NOT! But the doc thinks it's stress. Stress??????????? What could a cat be stressed about? Another of life's mysteries.....
Have a great day!
Sharon
Good morning Randy and the rest of Illinois!
When I got home on Friday, Todd was STILL sitting in his chair vegging. I guess it was his vacation so he could spend it as he wished. I, on the other hand, wanted to take advantage of the 4 day break and go somewhere. I checked Hotwire for Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago and Madison won. I got 2 nights at the Hilton Monona terrace for an excellent price and left by 1 on Saturday after taking Liv to lunch. I went to Trader Joe's and then checked in. The room was lovely with a great view of the lake. I went to a Cajun place for dinner and just relaxed watching whatever I wanted.
A friend of mine from GRADE school joined me early Sunday morning and we spent the day having the most fun. We went to Wollershiem winery and to the Old Fashioned and walked the square. We left for home around noonish on Monday. Had I known Connie and Kay were heading that way, I may have tried to meet them for lunch. It was a good break.
When I got home, Todd was STILL vegging. The neighbors hosted this year and when I got over there, they were telling me how much they thought he missed me while I was away. Funny, I didn't even think he noticed.
A BOY came all the way from Iowa to meet Liv in person. He and his parents, that is. The parents stayed in Freeport and the kids came to the neighbor's party with us. They seemed like nice people and he was very nice (and cute). Unfortunately, I do not see a "dating" relationship when they live 3.5 hours apart.
Yesterday, the kids and I went to the movies (I saw "The Hobbit", theu saw, "Jack Reacher"). Todd watched sports and I took a bubble bath.
Now.....time to get this New Year started! I wish you ALL the very best in life for the New Year.
Hi Dawn,
There is NO doubt in my mind your husband missed you way more than you know. Whenever we do something out of the norm to pamper ourselves, they notice. I am sure he is hoping this was a once in a blue moon thing and is secretly praying things go back to normal. One a side note; there is nothing more exciting and interesting, than a spouse who has their own life and interests, who can make their own fun, and who depends on nobody for that. Your independence is awesome. Good for you. Sharon
HI friends!
Wish we could have met you, Dawn. That would have been fun. We ate lunch in Verona at the Sow's Ear, a cafe and yarn shop.
A cat with stress, now that's a hoot! Every cat I've ever seen was the opposite of stressed. All they do is sleep and eat. I wish I had the emoticons like Nancy uses for FOFLOL!
Had fun knitting today-it's a great group of women. We took the menu from our New Year's Eve dinner and everyone thought it sounded great.
Have a good day!
Connie
