Last Friday in 2012 Roll Call

TGIF OH'ers,

I am up and adam early because I had trouble sleeping.....it's probably that full gorgeous gold moon that I read about earlier  on FB. I couldn't fall asleep until late last night and now i am typing at 4:23am. Ugh!

Today I am going to work on getting my paperwork together for taxes. I have been trying to find papers and today is the day I am dedicating to the tax-man. I also have to pick up my friend's grandson from basketball practice at school and then look for a small organic turkey. All in all, just another day.

My hubby was supposed to be on vacation last week but he kept getting called into work because everyone was off for the holiday. He is a Biomed engineer and works at a city hospital. He spent all of Christmas Eve and Christmas working on emergencies, so he is going to try for next week........it will be nice to have him home if it works out. He is still talking about how good Djhango was?????? Must be a guy thing.

Nancy, I am happy the plumbing issue is resolved finally. It can be a pill when simple things we take for granted do not work properly. It's so hard to schedule and take care of probs at home when you work outside the home.

Speaking of work, the job market is scary. I wish I could see how the economy is getting better, because the jobs are hard to find. I am hoping the new year brings more jobs. I am also hoping my unemployment doesn't get cut off due to "fiscal blah blah blah"

Hello everyone

I could get used to this short work week.  I feel like I just started the week and it's already over...yeah!!!! 

I have simple taxes so I do my own and usually wait till the last minute to do them....like last year the day they were due!!!  I don't like paying to have someone else to do them but I hate doing them.

As far as the job market goes...oh I know how that goes.  I was out of work earlier this year and was blessed to find a job so quickly.  Funny thing I got a call last Friday about my resume...and I was thinking...really???  Employers are waiting that long to contact people on their resume?  I just ignored it. 

I have a lot of little errands to run and will split them up between today and tomorrow.  I will be doing groceries today for sure and Chipotle.

Good Friday Morning Everyone!

I too could get used to this short week.  I am loving it.  Sharon, did you have to remind me that it is a full moon.  I could not sleep last night and now I know why.  The customers will be in rare form.     I want to go home early!  Already had a call and the order was delivered but not to the exact person addressed so she wants a replacement.  Hey, it is in the building.  You work together, get it from your coworker.  We are not  responsible for where Fed Ex delivers it to.  But of course I can never say that.

Gage came last night  and he was really touched with his Christmas gifts.  I had made up a stocking for him and one for his cat.  He got up and came over and hugged me and gave me a kiss to thank me.  That is the first time he has done that.  I was shocked.  I think I hit the right gift.

Tomorrow we are meeting my sister in Rockford to exchange Christmas presents and eat at the Olive Garden.  That is bribery for Gage to come along as it is his favorite restaurant.   

I have not even started to think about my taxes yet.  IT is way too early.    I will probably do them sometime in February.

Taxes! Because of last year's illness I just did mine in Sept just before the 6 month extension deadline. It seems wrong to think of them now, but it's a good idea. I have to wait for all the paperwork to come in which is usually here by the end of Jan. I'd be smart to get them done then instead of at the last minute.

This is the first day this week with NO plans. Of course I'll knit but I'm also tempted to escape in a good book. that could be interesting. We'll see!

I  haven't had any problem with dumping until yesterday. I felt awful but I'm not sure if it was really dumping or stress. (We had a meeting with some old friends who had disappeared from our life and no they are back. No explanation. So I was quite anxious about meeting them. I felt like nothing I ate was being digested. Oh well. it's over and I'm fine.

Good Late Morning.

I have been trying to get on here since 6:30 this morning, but darling hubby has needed to print out and stress over some paperwork. Of course he has to ask me to tell him where and what everything was. He is now out for lunch with a bunch of guys from High School. Should I be happy.

The job market is scary. So is the unemployment stuff. They are limiting benefits to 12 weeks only. Our grants and programs will get big cuts too. I just hope I still have a job.

Nancy, glad that you were able to give a teenager what they like. It is hard.

I am starting on taxes after I finish putting away Christmas. I do try to get some of it done fast, so when stuff comes in, I have a home for it. Right now I am remaking all new files, so we can start fresh on Tuseday.

It is back to changing the Christmas dishes out for the regular one. I like using the holiday ones for the holiday season. Otherwise they would be used once or twice a year.

Good afternoon Sharon and the rest of Illinois!

I am working for the last day of the year.  I will not come back here until Wednesday.  It will be a nice break. 

We are getting together with the neighbors on Monday night for games, food and fun.  Besides that, no big plans.  I suppose we should take down the tree, but it is SO beautiful this year.  I am considering going to Madison this weekend. By myself if I have to......or into Chicago to see my African princess "sister".  Just not sure.

Sharon----I want to see "The Hobbit" this weekend.  Good fantasy and escape!

I agree that the job market is scary, which is why I am stuck in hell.  I think I will look into some sort of medical training to see if that might offer an opportunity.

Crystal-----please remind me what you eat at Chipotle?  I never know what to order when the family wants tacos. 

Nancy----it is so nice to know that Gage was happy.  Hugs and kisses is a bonus!

You can get a taco (soft or crispy), burrito, burrito bowl (this is a burrito minus the tortilla), and a salad. 

You have a choice between white rice or brown rice

and

Pinto beans or Black beans

green peppers and onions

You have a choice of meats- chicken, steak, pork, shredded beef, or you can vegetarian.

the other filling/toppings are-

3 different salsas- mild (which is more like pico de gillo), medium and hot.

corn

guacamole (which is extra unless you are getting the vegetarian)

sour cream

cheese

lettuce

They also have chips you can buy so you can have chips and salsa. I have a friend that puts the chips in her burrito bowl.

The steak is spicy but the chicken isn't as spicy...I like it spicy. 

Now I always get a burrito with steak, cheese and salsa.  I tear away most of the tortilla...and throw it away.  I like a plain simple burrito.  The way I eat my burrito it's not that many calories.

I also like Chipotle because they use hormone free, antibiotic free meat and organic veggies.  And local when possible.  I like their commitment to using quality ingredients and using farmers that are kind to the animals they raised and the environment.  I wish more business were like them.  Can you tell I am a total Chipotle freak!!!  I should do commercials for them...hahaha!!!
