My dogs are still barking today. All in all yesterday with walking at work, then to and from the train, to and from the market I put on almost 6 1/2 miles on the Fitbit.

I guess I will take a much deserved rest and sit most of the day at work. I have a lot of computer things to do there so the sitting comes at a good time. Also, the boss will not be in either, yeehaa!

We only have dinner to serve to the stage team tomorrow and the rest of the weekend will be laid back. What is happening in your world?

  &

PS the PO appt went well yesterday. I do not have to go back for another 3 months and I will tie that in with my yearly with both the surgeon and my primary.

Hello everyone

I have been working overtime all week to get this project done for my boss.  It just seems to multiply.  I am going in extra early today...because today is our company Christmas party.  And I'm not talking about one of those cheap catered affairs in the lunch room while you are on your lunch break.  We are actually going somewhere.  They are closing the company down at 12:30 and we are all going over to a restaurant!!!  I never went to an real Christmas party.  So seeing that they are closing early I need to go in early to get all my work done.  I have to get all the cash entered and balanced.  Good thing I remembered to set the alarm.  Yesterday I woke up at 6:45...but seeing that I leave my house at 7:30...that was just too late!!!  But I still managed to get to work by 7:45!!!

I know everyone says this time off year usually gets people depressed.  I am usually very, very cheerful.  Although, I am not in the Christmas spirit at all this year (I have had brief spurts) because of Amanda's absence.  I haven't felt any depression or sadness.  No...just not feeling Christmasy.  Which feels weird...those that know me know I'm like a little kid at Christmas time.

Then whenever the party is done I have to head over to do groceries, and a few other errands and then workout.  But we have to see when this party ends.  Who knows they might be party animals and party all night...I wouldn't mind.

Christine- I'm so glad to hear your PO went well.  see I knew all would be well by Christmas.

Dawn/Sharon- I hope you are feeling in better spirits today.

Well time to finish getting ready...see you all later...bye

GOOD MORNING!!!

I am awake and ready to take on the world. Well maybe my little corner anyway. I have a list that I want to get done today, including changing the bed and cleaning house. I want to make chocolate chip cookies too.

Dawn and Sharon, I hope you both have a better emotional day today. People can get depressed durning this time of year. It seems there is to much to do and not enough time to do it all.Remember, no one knows that you didn't make or ice those cookies

. Nancy I am sorry you were having such a bad day with phones. We went to Mediacom a year ago for everything. It works for us.

Crystal, have fun at your lunch/party today.

Christine, you need to slow down today. Our bodies know when we overdo.

Hugs to all,

LISA

Good Morning Everyone!

It is Friday!     I am so glad.  Dawn and Sharon I can relate to your mood.  I have been feeling that way for a couple of weeks.  I just keep attributing it to needing time off and too much stress in my life.  I feel I am at my breaking point.  But I cant even take a day off work for risk of being terminated.  Sigh.  No word yet on whether the FMLA papers have been accepted.

Last night I spent another 2 1/2 hours on the phone with the phone company.  This time with the retention dept and tech support.  I did get $21.oo per month knocked off my bill so far and we have not discussed the direct tv.  I switched cell phone companies last night and knocked another $30.00 off.  I have an appointment for them to come look at my phones today.  I will probably have to end up paying for a service call but we cant find where the problem is.  We wonder if it is a bad jack or something but have no idea how to tell.  They did give me $25 off a service call.  I am trying to get my tablet to pick up my wi fi and it will not do so.  It says the reception is poor and that should not be.  I ended on the phone with tech support in the Phillipines and the person could not understand or speak English well and the US side was closed after my long hold.   GRRRRR  So once again tonight I get to sit on hold.  blush  I will also again address the retention dept with this and see if I can get even more compensation.

I had the water softener people back out yesterday.  They finally found out what was wrong with it!  I have a part broken and it is ordered.  I will finally have water pressure again!

Looking at all that has been going on between work, home and Rick being sick, no wonder I am stressed to the max.  Plus I am still fighting my bronchitis.  cool

Tomorrow I have my bad check class to teach.

Chris, take it easy today!

Dawn and Sharon, extra special hugs to both of you!    I wish we lived closer and these did not have to be virtual hugs.

Crystal, have fun at your office party!  You have landed a job with a really neat and caring company.  I am so happy for you!

Lisa, happy baking!  I hope your cyst surgery is healing up.

Everyone have a great day and a super weekend!

Good morning!

My thoughts are with all of you who are down this holiday season. I have been there in the past and know it's pretty awful. Listening to real Christmas carols has been a help in the past. I guess I'm a Christmas purist because I don't like Rudolph and Santa songs and Granda got run over by a reindeer! Please!
I even have a disk of Advent music which is going way too liturgical for most people. I love to hear carols in different languages. Yesterday NPR classical had a bunch in German--way cool. I also like to hear them in French.

We are having company tomorrow and I've already polished the silver--not my favorite job--but everything's ready that can be done today so I have time to knit!

Have a good day folks!

Connie

I agree about the Christmas songs.  I love Bing Crosby..I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas or It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...pretty much anything by Bing or Nat...I hate it when these new singers remake classic songs and they ruin them!!!

In my family we call him "Uncle Bing".

My maiden name is Crosby.

I enjoy the same vocalists but also enjoy Harry Connick Jr. I do not think I spelled that correctly.

Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!

Thank you all for the support and caring.  I am better today and hopefully, after an evening with Riley, will be even better tomorrow.  Like Nancy, I am over-stressed.  I am not feeling Christmasy either as it just seems to be more stuff to do.  I am pretty sure that this year will be more about family getting together than presents and "stuff", at least at my house.  I HATE gift cards but I think that those gifts I HAVE to provide will get them this year.

Nancy & Sharon-----BUG HUGS to you too and wish we were closer.

So.....I need to get through today at work, figure out what's for dinner, then home.  Riley is going to help me with the sugar scrubs and Honey Butter Ambrosia that will be the neighbor gifts.  Maybe she can help me deliver them also, we will see.

Everyone have a spectacular day!

Tell someone that you love them!

Hello to all!

I post quite late @ pm. Sry. I wanted to ask everyone...when you went to locate a place that would do your surgery, did they require a non-refundable program fee? I've seen 2 places that does that & forgive me but I think they shouldn't be doing that. I'm on a fixed income (the low end of the scale) & not able to afford fees of $360.00 ect. My vehicle is a 1988 if that tells you how bad it is. I know that if I want it bad enough, I'll have to just deal with it. My spouse is also not wanting to go into Chicago or more than 2 hours away. We live in Sterling so I don't feel as though I have too many choices. Hubby is also disabled & has serious health issues as to why he doesn't want to drive me into Chicago & a far off distance.

Any ideas? I was so wanting for the Peoria Group @ St Francis to do the surgery until I saw their $360.00 non refundable fee.

I know I was charged a $300 fee (and that was more than 4 years ago) but I got all kinds of stuff too...books, exercise bands, a CD ROM, a heart rate monitor, protein powder samples.  I do think most places do charge a fee.  I think if you research the clinics in Illinois you can check to see what others are charging.
