Good morning Christine and Friends,

I recovered from that weird 24 hr thing. Nausea, hot flashes and fatigue. After church, I did not do much yesterday. Still no tree......

Today  I am going with 11 of my friends to see the Steve Harvey Show at the NBC studios. It will be a long day. We meet for lunch at 12:00, so I must leave by 10:30 a and then taping is at 4 p and lasts 3.5 hrs. By the time I get home it will be 9p .  I am hoping for a great adventure.

Have a great day and stay dry.

Hugs,

Sharon

It is really rare for me to ever get a bug other than an upper respitory thing.

Dave years ago was at the taping of the Katie Hoss (Wild Horse Saloon) show in Nashville and he said it was real fun. We have been to live broadcasts of radio shows and they are always fun.

Hello everyone

Yesterday I got everything done I wanted.  I found that used book store and it's dangerous that I know it's there.  I walked away with 8 books!!!  What is wrong with me...then I was kicking myself because I thought of another book I wanted and didn't look for...hahaha!!!  Now I know what I will be doing when I get bored on weekends.  I am trying to get all of the classics I always wanted to read like all of the books by HG Wells and Vonnegut.  The book I forgot by the way...Great Gatsby!!!

Sharon- That is cool.  I always wanted to see a taping of a show.  you will have to tell us about it.

Today I am doing the usual...working and working out.  Nothing special.

Well I better get going and get ready for work.  Have a good day all...see ya later...bye

No they are much cheaper at Goodwill but I very rarely find what I want at
Goodwill. The book store is a few miles down the street from the Joliet mall on the drivers side of the road. It's tucked away in a small little strip mall that has 3-4 stores. The way they price the books is half off the cover price. So if you buy those little paperback books it's about $3-4 a book depending on how old the book. Because I had a book priced at 4.99 so I got it for 2.50. I look for books in good condition obviously.

Love Vonnegut but he will twist your brain in knots.  I was introduced to him when a classmate said I was like a character in his books.  I opened up one of her books and began reading about a guy who was the size and shape of a match stick.  I think she meant my tendency to go A and B cause E and then going back to fill in C and D only if asked.

So you have been forgiven?

I find some great books at resale shops. Usually ones that I want to read again and no longer have the book. We do not have any used book stores near us.

The problem is I usually have a list of specific titles and authors I am looking for.  If I am looking for something general then Goodwill is a good bet..but I can never find the exact titles and authors I want when I am there.  I always have a running list..actually it's on my iphone...and I'm always adding to it.  So unless it's on my list I don't buy it.  Not right now anyway.  There are times I am looking for something new and I "wander" around just browsing looking for that new author or genre to grab me.  That's how I found Hunger Games...I found that book before anyone even knew what it was.  I remember telling people about the book and they thought I was nuts for liking a book like that...and look they are loving the movie!!!  Hahahaha!!!
