Wednesday Roll Call
Hello everyone
I had fun yesterday with my friend. We ended up at Portillios and we stayed there all night joking and laughing. I guess we were loud enough that this nice, older gentleman came up to us and said..."you guys are very happy, that's a good thing" and walked away. We just looked at each other and laughed some more. So even though we bought the stuff we never got around to getting my hair done. We are making plans to do that maybe later this week. Oh well we had fun anyway.
Today I have a million things to do. I have work of course. I also have errands to do (lots of errands). I am going to the movies to see Lincoln with my friend Monica. I really want to see that movie. Then I have to come home late and start baking for tomorrow.
In my effort to get in the Christmas spirit...at work they are sponsoring an angel tree(where you can buy gifts for needy children) So the gifts I would normally buy for Amanda...I am going to go out and buy for needy kids. I think I might enjoy this. I am have decided to do three. So when they set up the tree next week I am going to pick three girls (I am partial to girls) and go shopping. Yeah!!! I am actually kind of happy about this.
I wanted to tell you guys about the other girl in my office that has LapBand. I don't know if you remember when I first started working here, there is a woman here that has the Band too. You know how I am always complaining about the constant food at work. There's this other woman and she knows we both are Banded. She came up to me and was saying how this other woman with the band eats so much food. She said stuff like "I'm surprised by how much she can eat" and I was kind of taken a back by her comments. I don't like when people monitor WLS patients' food intake. I told her sometimes you can eat a lot of food. Bands are very fickle. There are days when I can eat and eat if I wanted to. She said "really, because I never see you eating a lot" And I told her that I have come to a point where I have learned to control my urges but I have my slip ups and pig out. But anyway...yesterday the company catered pizza (again!!!) and I hate to say it but I paid attention to what this lady had on her plate (I felt guilty for doing it too). You know this woman was right. This banded lady is eating far, far too much. She has had her band about as long as I have and has it filled (according to her) as much as it can go. And she is eating as much pizza as I used to eat before I had surgery. I was shocked. I just thought...WOW she is going to slip her band if she keeps that up. And I can't talk to her about it because we aren't close at all. I did talk to my friend Monica about it because I know she will keep it herself and she's not judgmental. I am concerned for her well being, but I have to remember she has the same knowledge as I do (we have the same doctor) and she is making the decision to do this to herself.
Steven- Have fun with your family.
Anyone that does not check in tomorrow...Happy Thanksgiving.
Have a good day everyone...see ya later...bye
Hi Steven, Crystal and IL pals,
Happy Turkey Day Eve.
One of the busiest days of the year for many...........
Our son is coming in early tomorrow morning and today I will finish cleaning like a demon. Isn't it funny how we clean when others are going to be at our house? My husband keeps telling me I am cleaning the already cleaned but I have this deep seated desire to sparkle.
Crystal, I love your idea of buying for someone else who would so appreciate it. We have been thinking along those lines as well. We have a tree at church that has kids names on it who's parents are in jail. I think I'll take an extra one this year.
I have to find some time to type a 3000 word paper for a friend. She cant type and I offered. Right around the time I offered, my computer went bonkers. Thank goodness my hubby spent the time working on our network last night.
I too have to find time to bake. But right now I am getting ready to go to the pool.
Have a great day everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sharon
Good Morning,
I am going to leave for work shortly here. I cannot see across the street because of the fog. I need to take a couple of hours off today. I am seeing a Dr. about the cyst/tumor in my back. Plus, I have been waking up withburning/pain in the small of my back. It is also warm. We will see........
I am almost packed for the weekend. I need to get the suitcase out.
Stephen, have a safe trip. We will be heading down tomorrow night.
Nancy, Sorry you have to work on Friday.
Karen, stay safe on the bus this morning.
Chris, you were smart not going to the loop yesterday.
Randy, what are you making for the holiday?
Crystal, I love the idea of the Angle tree.
Sharon, you will love having your son home.
If you want something to donat to: :www. asoldierswishlist.org is a great thing to do. You fill a box with what the guy wants, and send it. I have one box ready to go. Another one will go this weekend. My sister and I are both doing this.
Have a safe and great holiday,
Hugs,
LISA
Have safe travels Steven and Lisa. We are just laying low for the weekend. We will take a short ride out to my brother's on Turkey Day early in the morning and visit with them. Then we will eat in the mid afternoon. We bought a small almost 6# turkey breast, bone in with rib meat. Just enough for us to have a small amount of left overs and to make some soup with the bones.
Dave is in baking mode and is driving me nuts because the kitchen is a mess. He spilled melted butter on my clean floor last night while he was poring it over his nibble mix before baking it. I found it on the counter also under and near my coffee pot. After he went down to the Loop yesterday I cleaned all the counters and washed the floor . . .
Well, I will be in clean up mode today after you know who.

Good Morning Everyone!
It is the last day of work for many. It will be quiet here today and Friday. I can read, shop online or do other things. I just found the perfect gift for my nieces at the Office Max Black Friday web event. They are the Android 7 inch pads for only $69.00. A really good deal.
We have a tree here at work that we select kids from. It really is a great cause. For 8 years I worked for the agency in my area that organized the whole event and did the distribution. I am also involved with a group that just sent over 7200 christmas stockings to soldiers. Such warm fuzzy feelings.
Steven, I hope you have a wonderful time with your family! Travel safely.
Crystal, I am talking Rick into going to see Lincoln with me. I even used my bonus points at work to get free tickets. How can you refuse an offer like that?
Sharon, I am sure your house will be sparkling! Kids do see that when they visit mom They may not say anything but they know they are home.
Lisa, I hope you were able to travel safely in the fog this morning. It was wicked out there! I like your idea of the soldiers box. I will have to do one. I also do a shoe boxes for the Samaritin's Purse.organization They pack a decorated shoe box filled with little things for kids and distribute them in third world areas. I have read some of the stories of the recepients and they are so touching. Travel safe to St. Louis.
Chris, it sounds like you are being very active. I am not sure scrubbing floors is on your post op recovery list. But I can understand why you did it. I hope you and Dave have a delightful holiday.
Randy, no studying over the holiday. This is your break time!
Everyone have a great day and a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

I can add activity as I see fit. It was not overtaxing and it is not like I am down on my hands and knees but I was on the other end of a mop handle swishing it back and forth.

Volunteered to buy and cook something for Tim's House lunch tomorrow but was told everything is taken care of so we will go early tomorrow to help with whatever they have for three hours before the door opens.
Went to coffee at Starbucks this morning with a friend of Cheryl's who has retired and lives in Mayfair.
Good afternoon Steven and the rest of Illinois!
I am working today and Friday. At least I am SUPPOSED to work on Friday. I will see how much I get done today.
Riley came out last night and made english muffin pizzas. Then her and Uncle David watched, "Brave". I got the onion casserole assembled and the onion and celery chopped for the stuffing. Tonight, I will get as much done as possible for tomorrow.
That's about as exciting as it gets here.
Everyone have a wonderful day and a Happy Thanksgiving!
