Thursday Roll Call

Good day IL! Man, I slept in my own bed last night - wonderful except did not take pain med all night until a short while ago. Good thing that it is fast acting.

I was better yesterday after I learned from the doc via the nurse that I have to take it super slow with eating and drinking due to the bowel resection. I did that and it helped a whole lot. I still get a little discomfort but it is managable. I have resorted back to stage2/3 diet and have started drinking my water with a medicine cup and my protein drinks I have to drink room temp and water also. I can tolerate coffee as long as it is not just out of the pot brewed.

Dave is driving me to my brother's and I am setting up my jewelry for the SIL's annual Christmas Craft Fair in their Victorian 3 story house on the west side of Elgin. I do not have to be there on Frid/Sat as Karen will take the money for me.

Hello everyone

I am doing nothing...and this is getting boring.  No really I have all these tedious little things I have to do and I keep putting them off and I need to just do them.  Things like call my bank and find out why I can't log on to the website, call Comcast to cancel HBO and just stupid things like that.  I hate doing things like that.  I am more of a run to the store to do things kind of a person.  Probably because I have to call people all day long and the last thing I want to do when I am off is call people. 

I also have this problem where I think I'm not getting all my mail.  In fact I think I am only getting a small portion of my mail.  I never got my voters registration card.  So I called for another one, and I didn't get that one either!!!  My FOID card hasn't come either.  Amanda said she sent me a post card.  I don't know what to do...because I do get some mail.

Well Christine your recovery sounds like it's coming along.  I'm sure the discomfort will lessen each day.

Good morning Crystal and the rest of Illinois!

Crystal---I know you don't want to make another call, but perhaps a call (or visit) to the local post office is in order?  It is possible that they aren't sorting correctly or that your postal carrier is not paying attention.  Maybe "hot guy" is getting your mail and saving it until he gets the nerve to talk to you.....hehehehe!

I got the Boy Scout bank work done, now I just have to decide if I want to sort out ALL the receipts and file them with each month.  I also need to work on David's room.

I had fun last night washing Liv's hair.  Since she can't get the ear wet for 6 weeks, I offered to help.  It is SO funny to see this almost grown young lady trying to lay on the counter like a 2 year old!  Daddy and I took pics and posted on Facebook just to be silly.

I have training for the airport today and then I will get a schedule to see where I can fit it in.

Thinking of Chris and glad to hear the recovery is coming along.

Connie-----are you reading "Lucy" about a young girl found in the Congo??  If so, I am listening to it in the car and find it facinating so far.  I listened to another book about bonoboes called, "Ape House" and it was also very good.

Gotta get back to work.

Busy morning yesterday at the Food Pantry.  I took yesterday off from studying so it will be back to it today full blast.

Not much going on here. That;s better. I have a aggravating pain on my left side up high and through my back. I am watching what I eat to see if I have something stuck. It kept me awake most of last night. Having a few pickled beets for a snack and then I have to run the sweeper. 

Christine glad to see you are on the road to recovery.

Good Afternoon my Illinois Friends

I hit a wall this morning when my alarm went off.  I could barely move so I conceded and called in sick.  That means I dont get a full week off at Christmas but I just could not move today.  That is the way bronchiti****s me.  It really wipes you out and you can keep going for a while until you hit that wall and then you need to take at least one day off.  After 4 nights of not sleeping, today was the day. So I am nice and comfy in my robe and doing nothing.

Chris, we always want to push ourselves and sometimes too hard.  It is good that you are taking a step back with the eating if you are having problems.  Better slow and easy than fast and hard. 

Crystal, I can relate to not wanting to make phone calls.  I hate to talk on the phone after being on the phone all day.  I also agree that you need to check iwth your post office as to why you are not getting all your mail.   Also are your mailboxes at your apartment locked?  You may have someone with slippery fingers if not.

Dawn, I saw the pics of Liv getting her hair washed.  It did remind me of a little kid!  I was chuckling.
